Birthday Eve's Mistake

Almost didn't want to post anything today (procrastinating mode XD) but since I actually did post annually since 2021, it would be a waste to not post something today...

I'll keep this short. It's very much as low-key as last year's... so again, not much really to speak about today.

Although, I guess I can share my, ermmm, failure recently XD. Don't worry, it's still birthday-related. Had a birthday eve lunch outside at City Malls' Sushi King... honestly I've been missing eating kaiten sushi so finally had the courage(?) to do so this year. Yeah it's just the usual eating lunch stuff but... I made a mistake not double-checking our order (you do it from a tab/pad on the table) and we ended up with three bento boxes instead of only one XD. Damn, no wonder it (they?) arrived so late! Fortunately, packing them is an option... it would be more hassle for them but that's the only best option. I ended up eating them for yesterday's dinner and today's lunch. Nothing's wasted :)

Time for obligatory birthday & 1st day of the month post~~~!

Though... honestly, today isn't really a day to write home about. Very ordinary day which consisted of getting birthday wishes/presents and... I like how low-key it is.

Random info of the day! I just opened UtaPri Live Emotion app today because I know there'll be some personal birthday messages and look at what I just learned today! Apparently it's also Eiichi's birthday lol (I feel uncomfortable with his character for some reason so I never bothered learning HEAVENS members' birthdays)... I was like, "Why is Eiichi's giving me personalized birthday greetings after Tokiya???" (I missed the part where he was the one "thanking" me for being there for his birthday looool). Then I noticed his birthday mission is available for today haha

It's Friday...

It's raining again...

...Happy Birthday to me~!

It's a pretty uneventful birthday though... unless you count having no water supply as one of those events (I refuse). *sigh* It's unfortunate that it has to happen on this day.. I do hope it will be back tomorrow. At this moment, I'm not feeling the stress yet. Ignorance was a bliss yesterday - Did laundry (using water from the tank) without a care in the world (ooof). Haaaah... this things, you usually only notice it after they happened.

Lol this post is turning gloomy at this point... it's not that really! Just another normal Friday here. I'm having fun reading "7th Time Loop" light novels (currently reading Volume 2) because I noticed there are a few small details not mentioned in the manga version. Been listing out Rishe's lives (there are two that I don't know what she decided to live as)... and some theories related to Arnold. Okay, now I'm excited!... since I can continue reading the web novel after the light novels... I doubt there'll be any answers but at least I can read ahead...?

Plot twist!

Spent most of my afternoon cleaning desk (and stuff) because... there's a new computer in the house...?

I'm currently in awe with this new gaming desktop! It can connect to WiFi (so it's built-in?)... and it has Bluetooth!

SO COOL!!!

I probably sound like I didn't have regular access to a computer for more than two months (true story) but things like these impress me so easily (until I get used to it of course lol)... so just let me be!

By the way, my birthday is today... and it's just like 2021's - spent at home. Did get the cake I wanted last year though XD. Also, we had Japanese foodpanda delivery for dinner.

Erm... well. It's a day I can't avoid to blog about when I'm attempting to blog daily this year.

I didn't even blog about it last year huh

Nothing much to talk about for this year's birthday. It's pretty uneventful. Oh TM people did came to replace our non-functional modem today (apparently that's the problem *sigh*) with a new one - so internet is back.. y-yay?

Was offered to pick a cake but decided to postpone that to another day (the cake-buying I mean) because my choice of cake isn't available today. Why not choose another cake, you say? But I want that one particular cake.

Oh yeah, had Korean ~~foodpanda delivery~~ dinner...

Suddenly just recalled that last year I celebrated alone because my other family members were all out of town. HAHAHA.. so funny that I recall it while typing out this post. I think I also asked for delivery... from a Japanese restaurant nearby.

August 31st at random

【 Gardening 】

You've heard the stories. The stuff people do during MCO, quarantine, isolation, lockdown etc... I didn't think I experience THAT much changes compared to last year but I confess.. I got bitten by the gardening bug this year haha. I don't consider myself a follower of fads but when I do, I get into it so bad. Now I seek for TV shows that feature plants and gardening and manga with gardening theme.. and I started getting interested in creating botanical paintings (which is fine with my being into art recently but still...)..

Actually, it's not really new to me because I grew catnip for my cats in 2017-18. They are still alive - one flowered twice this year - although I recently pruned them to like 1/3 of their original size. I also still have my aloe vera that was purchased in 2017 at the Asia City tamu. It almost died (along with my rosemary, who didn't make it RIP) but in the end it survived and gives me aloe vera babies (they are so cute!) since then. Probably have to move some of them to their own pots because they are getting cramped again in their pot.

I feel like I should include some photos at this point... but I'm quite nervous because I might jinx it. Maybe in the future?

Anyway, so yeah... gardening bug... now I'm browsing for seeds online instead of books and stationery (yay?) but seeds can be expensive too because of the shipping fees. Why seeds you ask? Because it's cheaper.. and I seldom go out anymore (hah!).. uhh.. Also, I'm interested in plants that might not be available in nurseries. I get seeds for fruits/vegetables that I want to eat, plants with blue/purple flowers (it's oddly specific but yeah), & aromatic/fragrant plants... I'm also interested in weird-looking ones.. and most succulents fall under this haha (want to get some lithops in the future).

【 Anime 】

I've been watching more anime recently and one of it is "A Destructive God Sits Next to Me". The anime is so chaotic!! ...but honestly, it's just the kind of thing I'm into *almost makes me wonder why I took so long to watch it haha*. As I watched more episodes, I find myself relating so much to one of the characters, Tsukimiya, that I had to check if he's an xNTP.. I found one site that says he's an ENTP.. which just makes me smile..er..laugh more. No wonder!

I also re-watched the first 3 seasons of Natsume Yuujinchou and now catching up with the latest seasons that I haven't watched. Got reminded again how much I love the manga...

Saw some "Fall Guys" playthrough recently and it made me want to play too! It's so weird how fast I got interested in it (apparently I skipped some of Pocky Sweets' videos of him playing it.. lol).. I'm already planning on buying it soon. I'll just tell myself it's a birthday present for me haha

Birthday Post 2017

My last blog post was in July 2015. LONG TIME NO SEE~

Not much has happened since then. Really.

Today celebrated my birthday by having dinner at Nishiki (instead of our usual go-to japanese restaurant in Lintas). I was looking for a place that serve bigger portion of unagi and which was why we ended up there today.

Everything's pretty low-key today. I actually spent most of my birthday playing computer game lol

I received a pleasant surprise after our dinner. Which made me realise I DO like surprises. My family prepared a birthday cake for me! I really didn't see that coming... totally amused by that.

I love surprises!

I am grateful for the birthday wishes & prayers I received today...
Thank you very much!

p/s: I want to see myself write more in the future so... I might start updating this blog again.

A Very Belated Birthday Post

Finally had the courage to update my blog.

September is supposed to ~~always~~ be my best month of the year...

But this year's September started sweetly (with my birthday ~~or was that supposed to be bitter too because I got a year older? XD~~)... & then bitterly with my best friend leaving Sabah to further her studies few days later...

...& another new semester starting this week.

SIGH.

I do love familiarity a lot... I think I do get lost (at first) when someone I used to have around me is going to go somewhere out of my reach (by hand, lol). The recent news of my sister's audition for a local music diploma somewhat upsets me.

I feel so selfish & guilty.

And... new semester... ermm...I don't know. "It's going to be okay" is a phrase I should keep telling myself now, but I'm just so not convinced at this moment.

Belated Birthday Celebration

Woke up late today so no bagels :P

Went to Nishiki japanese restaurant for the first time today for a belated birthday celebration. In my family, when we say japanese restaurant, we usually meant going to Lintas’ ~~Wagamama~~ Wojamama restaurant… but this time I suggested going to a new place. Been craving Unagi since I saw Ohno’s challenge in “Arashi ni Shiyagare” (pic). Didn’t eat the way it was recommended on the show though because I couldn’t figure out which one is the tail (should be eaten last because it’s the tastiest part).

I didn’t take any pics though… hehe

Oh.. I think.. I think I can handle Wasabi now. I ate it by putting a small amount on my sushi… not as bad as I thought it would be.

Also… I saw someone – a former classmate (form 5) – sitting with his family on the next table to ours. I just realised who it was when we were going to leave. Didn’t say hi or anything though because I’m pretty sure he had forgotten who I am.

There are too many Sakurai news nowadays, I’m getting tired of seeing them in my Twitter timeline/LJ friends page. I’m complaining because he’s not my ichiban (Ohno-biased) and I think he’s overexposed enough already. SIGH… I don’t hate him or anything.. just.. really annoyed... for now.

Annoyance aside… I saw yesterday’s VSA! It felt like my birthday gift having them won with Ohno doing excellently in “Bound Hockey”. He was really awesome! I guess that’s how he is when he’s in serious mode.

During “Jungle Bingo”, the VSA staff made him wear a small camera video on his head to showcase the insides of the Jungle Bingo while he played. It was interesting! Will they continue doing that?

Oh! Jun was really bad in “Kicking Sniper”! LOL The opponent team gave him a stylish specs and asked him to play with them on. Jun couldn’t see properly with them. He kept making some robotic movements when it’s his turn to kick.

Sept 1st at random

1| It’s my birthday today~ (birthday post here) I wasn’t out/didn’t do anything to celebrate though… The fact that it’s the first day of the month alone is enough to make me happy XD.

2| …because September is such a special month (to me), I decided to join this month’s NaBloPoMo. I really miss my blogger side~ I mean, I always update things for my own sake in the future (as a record or something)… It has always been that way.. but this year, I’ve only made 10 posts (excluding my other blogs) here. I don’t want to repeat 2007 again (7 posts!). ~~Time for experimental posts again XD~~

3| And…hehehehe September – 26th of September – was the day I first tweeted about erm.. liking Ohno Satoshi. Watching Maou was almost like a beautiful mistake XD. I watched it expecting nothing much and as a fan of Ikuta Toma[’s acting] but in the end, it led me to ~~being Ohno-baited~~ becoming a fan of Ohno Satoshi (& consequently, Arashi). I’m still amazed at myself of how fast I progressed to being a ~~full-fledged~~ fan (though I did get to know about them when I watched HanaDan in 2005). The irritating thing is… once I’m in a fandom, all my blog posts will mention something about Ohno 0r Arashi *a warning? XD*. But this time, MAYBE… only subtly because there’s a reason why I have a LJ blog ~~for fangirling purposes~~…

4| Recently I’ve been cooking at home a lot. To me, cooking is a de-stress activity. I used to think I had to avoid cooking when I have classes that day because it’s time-consuming. But now, it’s like something I want to do whenever I could ~~& want to eat something~~. Sometimes it’s like a game. My dad likes to buy raw ingredients…randomly (I don’t think he remembers what’s left in the refrigerator when he’s buying XD), so I have to figure out what to cook using those [extra] ingredients to avoid them being wasted. The funny thing is, this sudden increase in interest started after I watched an episode of “Arashi no Shukudai-kun” with Ueto Aya. Ohno-san was the presenter and the topic was on bagels. That episode made me curious of how bagels taste like because the bread-lover/future-bread shop-owner Ohno didn’t like them that much. Gosh… just typing those out made me crave bagels again. Maybe I’ll make some tomorrow ^_^

There are some things that I never bother to mention in my blog before. Like having my hair short throughout Semester 2 (thanks to Nodame who made me see that it's not that bad to have short hair). Also, I originally wanted a red SE Satio but in the end I chose SE's own first Android phone (which I just named Shiro X10 today). And then today, I was surprised by the "arrival" of a purple Dell netbook - a birthday gift from my parents (OMG, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!)... And then those birthday wishes from my family (including extended family) and friends...THANK YOU FOR REMEMBERING MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!

Fuh. Enough shouting.

I was 12 once…

Before "I turned 21" this year, I was 12 once…

After some hush-hush conversations happening behind the place I sat in class, I realised my Primary 6 classmates were doing this… Writing birthday wishes and messages for me. Everything was put inside that jar-bottle thing.

It was one of my memorable birthday gifts. I thought it was really sweet. I get to keep all the ‘tiny memories’ they made for me.

& then there’s one random note, which is true!

I was lucky to know them!

Some birthday wishes included the “5A in UPSR” messages. (This is not the full collection.)

So. Apart from the usual “Happy Birthday” wishes, I had quite a few wishing (telling) me to smile always. I’m afraid that’s so true – I seldom smile… Or maybe it’s more like (I do smile) but my reactions to everything is so apparent on my face that you can easily tell if I’m pissed of by someone. Hmmm.

I didn’t smile much when I was little too which is evident from these photos…

If you’re wandering what’s that yellow thing I was wearing, it’s a plastic bag. If I remember correctly, I had thought that it looked cool to wear one (& my cousin and I were role-playing, I think it was supposed to be a costume.)

Okay, last one… the weird ones.
Joel’s message wasn’t ‘original’. I suspect he’s writing the monkey-kangaroo-zoo birthday song. Dianne wrote me a “Happy New Year” message (that’s 3 months away!).

Can you guess which birthday wish is my favourite?
(Favourite as in I-can’t-believe-that-person-wrote-that! & no it’s not E.E.’s)

It happened like after 3 weeks of agony – the silent tension between my ex-group members and me and the fact that they are ignoring me now… (Erm. Let’s not get there 1st.) - *BIG sigh*.. yeah. I don’t feel like being excited…
Anyway. I do admire the date.. haha. I mean it’s the 1st day of Sept! It’s such a beautiful date, don’t you think? Easy to remember though there’s not much events (at least those I’m familiar with) on this day.

Hmm... Anyway. This is what I'm going to blog today.

Chronology of my blog. Only important events.

Yeah, I might not include everything in my blog (like when I failed my exam or an encounter with someone I hate...) ... especially bad experiences or embarassing moments... ( I plan to write about that in the future) these few years but it's still a part of my life. When I look back at my older posts, I realised just how childish and shameless I was back then.

〇〇〇-blogspot-com (my old blog) was started solely to channel my lonely, unmotivated, aimless, & stressed (OK, enough!) life in form 5. Even now, I cringe whenever the memories return to mind... There were so many things I wouldn't dare to re-play in my mind. I'm always surprised how people can survive form 5 /SPM year gracefully. I'm convinced that no one ever felt more pathetic as I was. I think I had some kind of depression thingy going on that year (I even got insomnia for the whole year.. Only can sleep at 3 am and got up around 5 am to prepare for school) and maybe during form 4 too) but I never got it diagnosed.

Hey. Wait a minute. This post is supposed to be a happy post.
