Not my karaoke day

Neighbour on the right was doing karaoke since morning. They just went quiet minutes ago. Hopefully, it will stay that way.

Continued watching the 3rd season of "His Dark Materials". I don't know why I'm still watching this... I guess I just want to know what happens next. Not really interested in reading the books.

Also realised I've seen (at least the beginning) "The Amityville Horror" before because I recognised the house. I don't remember if I watch it until the end..

Finished reading "The Difference Engine" last night (or rather, after midnight..?). Gave me a mild headache (seriously). It was spite-reading, definitely. I was motivated by the thought of giving it a star (rounded) on Goodreads... which I think is important because I'll remember to stay away from their other books in the future. Also, especially after my experience with "The Female Man", maybe think thrice before reading books that won some awards (because I don't trust them. Except manga though.. I've read some good ones among the winners)... I say that even though I don't really read them because they won XD

Messed Up Again

Hello, it's me... someone who didn't sleep last night. *sigh*

I fear that waking at 3am++ has started messing up my sleeping routine again. Why am I so good at not sleeping properly?????

Anyway, surprisingly, I'm making some big progresses at reading "The Difference Engine" (I keep wanna call it "The Difference Machine" lol)... it's a bit easier after those introduction stuff but... it's still boring! I don't even care about the characters. I also don't like the writing style (since there are two authors I don't know which one is it).

Finished watching "Bullet Train" on Netflix. Brad Pitt's character was interesting but it kind of dragged in the middle. I'm glad I decided to finish anyway. Really surprised by that one appearance near the end XD

Today is not one of those good [mood] days, but it is the day I finally finished watching both Deadpool movies... *very proud of myself*.

Next, I just have "The Amityville Horror" left to watch before I start re-watching Ryan Reynolds' movies that I enjoyed.

Also realised that I'm a petty b*tch who holds grudges. I guess it's nothing new. Just want to acknowledge that here in this post today.

If it's not obvious enough, I kind of haven't done this recently:

I'll just start any random books but I won't make any commitments about finishing them. I might or might not decide to finish them.

I love the feeling of finishing a book more than starting one... So when I have many unfinished ones, it stresses me out. I might need to think of a way to not make that happen (it might just be finishing what I started, but that's okay).

Yeah.... haven't read all these books. I have vague reading plans for Eileen Chang's books this year so those are at least in my TBR list (lol). Nakahara Chuya's poems, though... I'm waiting for the right mood to read the book because honestly I'm not a big poem reader. Reading a poem a day is an option too, I guess...

What an aptly titled blog post ("Yabai") this was... I picked three books from the jar. Chose Wyndham's "The Chrysalids" which I loved and gave 5 solid stars to. The other two (that I found interesting at first) I also continued reading after that and didn't enjoy. One was boring and the other I couldn't stand the writing style.

Ah. E-readers.
Actually... I purchased one on Shopee in the same month~ A kindle paperwhite. Never did an "unboxing" post here because I know it's not going to replace my physical books. It's just going to be an addition. I don't use it heavily though but it's nice to read "Leftover Princess" on it. Also great for reading in between loading screens (or just any time I can steal while playing) of games I play :P

I think I'm still in that deadly/survival game subgenre phase... though I can't find that many nowadays (at least the one available online legally). I'll be reading "Battle Royale" this year though... so I'm branching out to books under this subgenre~

My Ryan Reynolds' phase XD? It still exists... although not many of his movies are available on the streaming services I have access to. Haven't finish watching Deadpool movies. Found one horror movie which I haven't watch yet.

Speaking of horror stuff... Just saw a few playthroughs of "Carson House". It was scary good. Somehow got reminded a bit of the movie "Ghostland". Sometimes human can be as scary as the supernatural things :/

Salty Tears

Let me just list out some things I forgot to include in my posts this week:

Had a dream few days ago about alien invasion. These aliens came here and somehow "stole" our technology... I don't know how they do it but whatever technology we have isn't usable anymore. And they want to kill humans. It felt more like a thriller really. Fun... scary dream.
Just realised that I can't play UtaPri songs anymore on Spotify (they got geo-blocked)... :\
Yesterday saw this on Tumblr. Important Blue Internet Checkmarks XD... Loved that lol.. Saw some accounts who got it already, I think it looks nice :P

Also, Ryan Reynolds is on Tumblr... (Funny thing is I knew about it from an ask on Neil Gaiman's Tumblr haha).
...It's probably time to tidy up my digital followings/subscriptions again..

"Buying another book already owned" has happened to my mother XD (... though it kind of serves as a reminder for me to start putting the books from the family bookshelves in LibraryThing)
So... I just knew from an e-mail yesterday that CIMB's Kwik prepaid credit card is being discontinued... I applied for that years ago because I had problems with linking my Maybank ATM debit card to Google Play/Wallet (it was during its early days). In the end, I didn't really use it much other than for Spotify's subscription... and when I buy games on Origin and Epic, I guess. Honestly, I'm quite glad that this happen. Now I don't have to worry about that card anymore.
Been having dry eyelids problems (mostly on my right eye) since last month... It can get itchy whenever I go out and the sun is very strong. Recently I've tried wearing an eyepatch when I need to go out to get the laundry (although it has been raining more recently so there's really no need lol)... I mean, my point of telling this is... now I can't cry freely [for fictional characters] because the salty tears make it itchy. Yeah, I just want to complain about that haha.. I have to stop watching or reading if it's going to get me teary-eyed... Damn, I can't even yawn - if that is even possible (sleep early?) - or I'll get tears in my eyes. ~~Sweating is hell :(~~

Sleepless

Couldn't sleep last night (early morning...?). Read a bit. I don't know if I'll be able to finish it by the end of September but I made progress!

If I still have problems falling asleep today, I think I'll just get out of bed and finish the book... and/or watch Deadpool movies (the last two Ryan Reynolds movies that are available & I have yet watch XD).

Ah.. this book.. "Samurai Revolution"... I'm still pretty much at the beginning since that post lol. BUT I'm currently replaying Katsu Kaishu's route in BakuTen for another ending, so I'm expecting the return of curiosity later. Hopefully that will be enough to fuel my reading progress for this book.

Yeah so after this incident, J&T has gone to the bottom (to the negative numbers range even) of my ranking for best courier services in KK, Sabah. I actually reached out to Shopee so that I can pay for those cancelled orders (done!)... it clearly stated "delivered" in the order status thingy, I wouldn't be surprised if J&T put the blame on me later if I just keep quiet about it... so I took the initiative, before it gets troublesome.

Big mouse pointer is back in action!!! I did change it back to normal size before the old computer died. Now I'm using the big one again on the new computer.

Funny thing. I installed both Evernote apps again and this time I logged into the legacy version. It took too long to sync and it also kept bringing up the new Evernote app back to front (like it kept focusing on it even when I'm on other apps).. eventually I uninstalled the legacy one. I really hope I don't need it in the future...

Confirmed. The lamp works with long reading session... it's pretty bright actually so I usually adjusted the brightness on the lowest or second lowest setting.

Finished watching "Free Guy" today. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS!!!!! Games, AI... Ryan Reynolds. It has to be him. I wouldn't have loved the movie this much if he's not in it.

Ahhhh... I wanna watch it again~~~ Maybe I'll do that after I finish four more of Ryan Reynolds' movies that are available at this moment. (Also, I'm going to create a label for him on this blog lol)

Already started reading my chosen(?) books from yesterday. One was surprisingly easy to read (diary entries lol). "Love in the Time of Cholera" looks okay so far but... I'm noticing some very dense-looking pages there... fortunately my reading schedule for this is 6 pages per day - ends on Oct 31st if I read as planned. Wish me luck!

If anyone asks this question "Do you still watch Ryan Reynolds' movies?" today, my answer is "Yes" XD. It's a phase. My Ryan Reynolds phase (lol). I never expect to have this phase this year... but it's here and it's happening.

Don't worry. This will not be a post about him.

It will just be a post about me getting excited for tomorrow's post. I'm going to pick a couple of books from jars a day early!

Might be chaotic. What if I get "War and Peace" from the other jar? ...which can actually happen because that's in the jar.

I miss having the Adblock extension in Chrome browser. I actually don't mind ads but I hate it when they turn off the YT video captions after the ads on TV (-.-)... that annoys me the most.

I miss the feeling of typing on a keyboard. Ahhh

Finished watching "Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard" last night. I LOVED IT. I would watch more sequels of these (especially after reading that Ryan Reynolds' character's "fate" to suffer in the movies on IMDB lol *I love his character!*).

Night Coffee

We have a new neighbour (on the right). Not really excited about that. The only thing I'm worried about is if they smoke. Oh and... will they be bothered by the sound of piano at unpredictable times...?

Anyway, started watching more Ryan Reynolds movies XD. Just finished "Green Lantern" which I really enjoyed. Still in the middle of some other movies including "Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard".

Also drank coffee (at night!) because I planned to finish "Summer Crossing" later. Wish me luck?

Netflix Thursday

Today is a Netflix day. With my sister lol. Saw some Thai horror movies/series. The latest I saw (like less than an hour ago) featured a very annoying main character... it was soooo bad. The character was bad. The acting was bad. My eyes rolled so much today. The FF button on the remote was heavily used - I have no qualms or regrets doing it. Isn't it great that we live in this era where I can just skip scenes with sh*tty acting? (Oh yes I'm still so mad about this!) The main character doesn't deserve that ending. I hate him so much.

Also, I started going through a few of Ryan Reynolds movies on Netflix. Finished "The Hitman's Bodyguard" in the afternoon. I super looooove it! I love the Reynolds-Jackson pair, love the comedy... the banters, everything!

Currently in the middle of "The Adam Project". It's good so far.

Also started watching two movies with the word "Red" in the title last night - "Blood Red Sky" and "Red Notice". Just finished "Red Notice" some minutes ago. Quite entertaining. I should watch more movies with Ryan Reynolds XD
