But today I'm glad that I could still make a good(?) decision, even when I'm in zombie mode... like purchasing a book before it got sold out in the afternoon! Well, I guess I should've expected that because it had two copies left before I checked out the order. 

Damn, was I the reason (the trigger? lol) that the last copy was gone after me??? Sometimes I do receive e-mails from BookXcess about the books I put in the cart ("Oops, the items in your cart are going fast!") Lol I even got one for the book today - I guess it got triggered as soon as I added it to the cart - so maybe someone also decided to get it fast before they lose their chance today. Or maybe they were also like me who suddenly decided recently, "Hey, I wanna read some H. P. Lovecraft stories. I never read one before, even though I've watched many game playthroughs that were inspired by his stories..."

I didn't really have many choices. A similarly-priced book on Shopee has less stories.. I did find the same book for a cheaper price there but I missed out on buying it 😓. They're either not in stock or too expensive on Kino. Oh well. 

To be honest, I do have some of his works on my Kindle but I kind of prefer having a physical book if we're dealing with short stories here. Short story collections seem to intimidate me more when they're in digital form 😭... it feels never-ending and takes longer than it should to finish them. The downside is I'm stuck with a large, fancy-looking book of short stories collection... I sure hope that I'm compatible with the writing style!... Yes, yes I know, I can check them online but I want it to be a surprise(?), and it's kind of a '0 or 100' thing - a 'don't read at all or read a lot of them' situation - so that's why we're at this point today~ 

Will this year be the year I'm finally reading more books from the horror genre???

Had a very restful sleep last night... but no dreams though. At least, not those that I can remember. I'm aware that I'm pretty much in a zombie mode so today's post might not be as coherent as I hope it would be. I'm not remembering much... (ooh.. that doesn't sound good at the start of the year lol)

I feel like I have some stuff I need to post to conclude(?) my 2023 so I might need a few more days to make sense of my thoughts... it's okay, I have time :P 

Of course, if given a choice, I do want a good one. But today, watching [ZTD] and reading something I've done in the past gave me similar feeling(s) from before - I cried. I think I'm the happiest person in the world when I reread stuff I enjoyed before because it's like I'm reading them for the first time!

...ah... I hope I can wake up early tomorrow...

Oh wow another uni post... *sigh* I feel like I posted frequently in September in the past, probably because it's my birthday month.

This makes me want to laugh bitterly... It hasn't been easy to wake up early nowadays. Hmm... I guess, in a way, I still feel that way..? Though it's not as intense as before, I would still feel guilty for waking up late. I guess 8am is the best time as compromise (to me, early is at 6am).

Wordpress, huh. I still go blog-surfing there sometimes... Although after two years, I still have no idea what to do with my blog there.

...but this post is giving me some ideas (while I was composing this), it could be my "On This Day" archive blog...? Of course, mainly for my own convenience. If it's that, I don't have to post new things after I post for each day. I just need to edit whenever I have new posts. Just like the LJ-like monthly archives I made in this blog, the posts will be a list of posts from this blog by day. I don't know yet if I want to include other blogs but that can easily be added when needed.

And since I'm not in a hurry, I can just do one post daily. At the same time, I can learn how to use the platform for blogging~

It's weird. I think I'm still suffering from the effects of skipping a night's sleep. Even though it has already been days. *sigh* It's mostly slow brain days (and some clumsiness and poor reflex) now but it's still not fun. Strangely, I'm feeling happy for no clear reasons. Probably another effect.

Also, can't stand slowness today. I feel like putting all the Youtube videos I'm watching on 1.5x speed. 

Currently, I feel happy... because I found a web novel that I can finish easily in one day (just realised that this author also wrote a few others that I'm still reading... oops). I'm less than 10 chapters left to the end and honestly I can't wait to see the manga catch up to the story~

I'm not sure if it's related to yesterday's post but I had a good sleep last night... [despite having a case of heartburn, morning-me realised after she woke up]. I woke up naturally around 6.40am. The same thing might not happen tomorrow but I'm still grateful for today's. Been having symptoms of eye strain recently (dry eyes, blurry vision) so I was hoping that the sleep helped lessen the effects...

Happy to report that I finished reading "The Trouble with Mr Darcy" today!!! Aaaaahhh I'm tired~~~ So- no, too many words~~~ This book is released before "Miss Darcy Falls in Love" (which I read first) so it was kind of cool to meet the main character from that one in this. Like you're reading from another side or something. Unfortunately, the whole book is like a fanfiction with too many fillers - I don't mind some fanfics that have them but it was very tiring to read this.

I don't hate it enough to give 1 star though... but I'll round down my rating (I usually round up) on Goodreads.  

It still feels like it's raining daily... not really a problem for me (yet) but I have to remember to get the dry laundry early (and that assuming it didn't rain in the morning). I am grateful though that this is the only laundry-related problem I'm having now. Remember when I need to wake up at 3-4am to do them? 

*laughs bitterly* ...But I guess that doesn't matter now anyway since I still have sleeping problems lol

And what does that mean to me today? Nothing. Just another day in my life. If I can continue having such kind of sleep for a week then maybe I'll notice something more significant. For now, nothing.

Oh yeah, I caught up with the last few episodes of the few anime I'm [was] watching (well, except one) and... I have nothing to say about them. Haaah when was the last time I saw one that consume my heart and soul...??? Oh right, few months ago LOL

Well, it's as expected I guess XD. I noticed that my attention span has become shorter when I read physical books (compared to reading on phone). I kept wanting to look elsewhere (for some reason). I don't think it's a matter of getting distracted.. more like being fidgety...? 

There's also that probability of having a brain in prolonged Zombie mode - my fault *sigh* - making it hard to focus on reading. Another thing that kind of makes me think it's lack of sleep is how irritable I was these past few days. Oh well, I'll try to get some proper sleep today... 

Didn't touch "Heaven's Shadow" at all today. Might try to marathon-read it tomorrow. For some reason, I'm motivated...? XD

Today's manga vibe(?) is political ones... for some reason. The me who doesn't like politic stuff is apparently okay with reading them in manga (or light novels!). As long as it's done well, I guess. I prefer seeing the good/best grey guys win though. 

...and nope. No physical-book reading done today. 

I think... I think I can get my normal(?) sleep routine back...!!!


Currently, I'm obsessed with isekai stories that feature villainesses. Today I found one with a protagonist that wanted to be a villainess but ended up becoming the heroine instead, and she's chasing after a side character (the male lead!) that isn't supposed to be a [capture] target. I'm excited about this 'cos the side character looks like a cool bad boy kind of character! (pﾟ∀ﾟq)

Ended up re-reading some manga I read months ago. I've reached that phase with my isekai-themed manga adventures XD... I don't really mind re-reading but there aren't new fan-translated chapters so I'm a bit sad :\


Started watching a new-to-me anime on Muse Asia's channel yesterday... "Insomniacs After School" and it featured characters who can't sleep at night. So far, it's pretty chill but what I liked most is how relatable the sleepless nights they described! Ahhh definitely don't miss those days... (I still get them from time to time. Unfortunately for me, it's one of my main PMS symptoms. Damn hormones, right?)

I guess it is time to slow down my Web Novel adventures... which I think have slowed down before I even say this - sorry, I can't remember well nowadays - .... yeah, that.

Hah.

Anyway, went out to get some groceries today. Actually it's more like a thing I got dragged into XD.. The day was still hot, I got sweaty (oof!)... or and it's the first time I use my ATM debit card to pay for stuff at the counter... Erm, I don't feel safe. I guess it's a given since it's newish to me. It is convenient though, I'll give you that. 

...I'm going to start reading the second volume today 'cos damn it, I need my daily(?) dose of Sei [& Albert]. If worse comes to worst, I'll just re-read the two volumes again because why not? But first, I would read slowly to savour the moments. I might even move on to the web novel version later. I will try distracting myself with finishing other books but no promises... too invested with the Sei's story (T_T)

This months' goals...

The others are just the usual goals but what the heck is a memory notebook, you ask? Hmmm... you know... it's something I just thought of today (lol) but it's just a habit I want to get into because of my crazy sleeping time recently. I just called it that because that's what I'm using the notebook for but apparently it's a real thing (like for rehab for those with brain injuries etc). Well, I don't have such injuries but... lack of sleep has made my brain a bit slow so I want to make use of one to help my brain to function properly. Actually, I also got a bit inspiration from JetPens' latest video about journaling when you have no time... that's not the main thing here although I might try to write something in my diary later. Anyway, yeah, that's my second small goal this month~
