First Day's Rants

February's first post!

I do love adding posts to that "1st post" label :D

Books

So... yesterday I received a BBW parcel in the mail for books— "My Heart is a Chainsaw"... and yet another version of "Dracula". SIGH. I can't explain it. My reasons are it's hardcover and probably has larger text size (this is very important). It also might be pricier elsewhere. That's what I told myself but really... It's just that every time I see it, I'm reminded of how I kind of prefer "Dracula" to "Frankenstein" (not a fan of the writing style & Victor Frankenstein is annoying) and always have to check if it's a version worth buying so that I can reread it. The amount of efforts(?) I'm putting into this is so ridiculous especially considering "Dracula" isn't even a favourite LOL

The last time I blogged about the voice thing is in a July 2025 post. Yeah. It's getting worse this year. I just unsubscribed from a WuWa lore channel because I can't stand their voice. It's actually pretty normal-sounding but it's just the way they read that I find annoying. I don't like it, so I unsubbed. I really don't care anymore. This is a year of cutting out annoying things from my life.

Reading

I am "saved" by my flower-picking trips again because the first book I finished this year is from those trips. It's a book I found at Karamunsing in 2024. Unfortunately it's a 1.5 star read (rounded down to 1 on GR). I don't find it okay and I don't particularly hate it so 1.5 is just perfect. It's just a bit too boring. The characters are okay (it's a multiple POVs kind of book) but I hate the bride's POV and I won't deny, that's one of major reasons that ruined the book for me. Another is the multiple POVs format. I don't usually have problems with books that use that but here, it almost makes me want to hate the format. It makes the timeline confusing sometimes, like I still get it, but it's very distracting when you jump around them.

Anyway... it's going to be another year of mood reading. It might be more reading than last year but still moody :P

Mini WuWa Talk

I've been seeing some discussions about the 3.0 main story quest which I find very interesting. I kinda arrived at the conclusion it's because they are still building the lore and world (and a bit experimenting), like they did in 1.0 and 2.0 but I guess people are comparing it to 2.0...? I just hope it's not a case of overglazing 2.0 because honestly that feeling they have now for 3.0? I think I had that during 2.0. It just got covered up by a big bang ending that is the carnevale. In the latest patch, it made me realised, "Ah.. so they're still building up the lore" like that literally means it's still cooking in the kitchen... it's the first chapter, you don't usually get the ending of the book in the first chapter.

Oh well.

I'm just here for Rover. For me, the big main story is Rover's past and memories. The most important thing in the main story is Rover. I guess not many see it that way because it actually makes sense that some characters don't appear that much again because IT'S Rover's story. Why would the main focus of the main story moves somewhere else?

[Wait... Ohhhh, so the segue arcs are for this... an alternate PoV... without involving the main story directly. Just like a peek behind the stage kind of thing.]

I'm Still Here!

I'm here with some updates!

Reading

I've been reading... but most of the books I read this year are surely from flower-picking trips and the library. Damn. Didn't think I would be doing that much audiobook-listening in my life but here we are. I'm in my audiobook era, apparently. It's a very irresistible method when you dread opening a physical (& digital!) books but still want to do some reading. I still won't touch those heavy ones but the ones that's easy to follow and maybe a book I've read before are very much welcome. I usually listen to one while playing a game that doesn't demand my full attention or when doing the dishes. I got peer-pressured (something like this XD) into reading two audiobooks but it's okay, I would just return early if I don't plan to spend time reading them. A couple of audiobooks are just to accompany my slow physical reading journey...

Oh yeah, one of the audiobooks I finished was "Real Ghost Stories of Borneo 1". I never heard about this series before but it looks like the Borneo's version of TSGS so I thought that was cool! One of the stories talked about their experience in KK and described the hotel they went to as a white castle.. Jeez, I wonder which hotel is that? :P
But seriously though, I consider that place to be old (I went there when I was little) so I wouldn't be surprised if some stuff happened there.

Books

I had a brief silly moment few weeks ago where I almost buy a second copy of "The Labyrinth House Murders"... totally saved by my LibraryThing (which is where I mainly catalogue books I own). I think it was partially me misremembering that what I meant to get is the one I got here. Highly recommend the site to anyone who has similar problems (or wants to avoid this) to use LT. I just started using it again back in 2020 when I realised I have a lifetime account (it used to have a limit on number of books you can add, if I'm not mistaken)... but then couple months later in the same year, they became free (no fees, no limits).

When was the last time I took a photo of books like this? XD

Anime

Great news~ I'm kind of out of the watching slump? I guess that's thanks to Tondemo Skill S2! I've re-watched the whole S1 and still enjoyed it (most of the time with food). But I'm so rusty with my I-know-that-seiyuu game XD. It was a pleasant surprise to know that Elrand is voiced by Namikawa Daisuke, it's so fitting! I wish we can meet Gonji soon but I guess that would be in the next season. Even in the WN, if I remember correctly, there's a big time gap between Dora and Gonji. At least Dora is here! I really need to catch up with the WN... I might need to start from the beginning again...

Yeah... I managed to get on (visit? board?) the Doulos Hope when it's in town. Had to make reservation online. Kind of fortunate that I was able to do that the night before for August 29th's... Amazingly, I only purchased one book which is another hardcover version of Jane Eyre. When will I ever read "Jane Eyre" and "Emma"? It has been 4 years XD.. what's funny is, at the moment I'm typing this post I'm considering reading them on my Kindle (because I can highlight them there and revisit them in one place on Goodreads). Well, it might be possible to do hybrid reading...

Anyway, I remember the date because when we returned to Jesselton Quay (we rode on a bus to go to the port where they docked), we saw a lorry on fire.

Received these books on September 26th... and I remember the date again because it's the day for Wuthering Waves 2.7 preview livestream XD

2/3 of the books are non-fiction ---this coming from me, who generally isn't a fan of non-fiction books? Except when it's about stuff I'm interested in, of course :D

She was actually fine with Static Mist (for Cartethyia team) but I just feel like I'm not using her full potential or something. Well, part of that is probably because of her echoes (as usual *sigh*)... but, oh well. Anyway... I'm so going to make a team with Jiyan or Aalto... Especially Aalto. I haven't made any progress with my Aalto DPS built...

Let me kind of throw this here: I've been playing Punishing: Gray Raven (PGR) on the side (an earlier game made by Kuro Games, who also made WuWa) and I suspect my WuWa luck probably went there (lol) because I got Bianca Crepuscule's exclusive weapon and CUB so early recently. ~~Where was this luck during the DMC colab patch lol~~

Now I'm kind of scared for the future (saw 2.7 Preview Livestream and... I really want Qiuyuan!)

Anyway, PGR has been an overwhelming experience so I'm just taking it in slowly. Like, very slowly. I don't even care that I'm bad at the combat (I'm a true button-smasher here XD), I decided to focus on doing the story more... and just build anyone as I like. The mini games has been fun :P... that's where I shine the most haha

Lol didn't expect to make a debut for PGR label in this post... though I don't see myself posting about it as much as WuWa in the future because I'm very on-off with the game...

I finally cleared this zone with full crests yesterday!!! Yes, it's all thanks to Brant - I didn't have a team strong enough for the Hazard Tower (middle). And most of my 4-star resonators aren't built good enough for this.

Hi 2025!

Well. 2025 is here, I guess.

Almost didn't post anything today but since it's going to be the first post for the year (and month), I thought I should drop in a for a little bit.

End of 2024 was... Eh... pretty much a meh mix of almost everything. I find myself busy with family matters and it has made me tired since Dec 30th. Yeah, this year started with me in tired, muscles-are-sore mode. SIGH. It is necessary "trouble", I suppose, so I'll just close one eye and let everything happen.

My younger sister got engaged yesterday... so those were among the things I say necessary "trouble" (and I meant that trouble from the troublesome way). The ceremony was done at our church. Met some new people and long-time-no-see relatives... hugs & handshakes (THE HORROR!) here and there. Like seriously, who the f*ck was I yesterday??? I refuse to acknowledge that "social butterfly"(?) personality. Of course I kind off exaggerated but I was certainly more social than usual (unfortunately).

Returned home. Got into a sneezing fit (and the almost-sneeze pain). Pretty sure that's an allergic reaction... so tragically, my 2024 ended with me suffering from being in the state of sneezing and almost-sneezing. My nose & cheeks hurt from the sneezing.

And since I procrastinate so much, I couldn't finish some things I planned(?) because I had to be elsewhere. I say this without being grudgeful - just stating them as is. Firstly, had to cut down the amount of books I wanted to read last year to 30 books. It's an easy decision because reading has been slumping for months lol. I even plan to do less reading this year... so no more daily reading goals this year for me!

Secondly, I couldn't finish some of the events in Wuthering Waves (for my alternate accounts) because I was just too damn tired (and sneezy). I was dozing off in the middle of an Illusive Realm fight haha

Oh well.

I just wanna put that here because it happened before 2.0 XD

Couldn't get Yinlin's signature weapon for my main account *sad sigh*... she'll have to make do with Jinzhou Keeper R5 for now (until I can get the 5-star rectifier from the standard weapon banner). Gosh, she's so mean to me these few weeks... it's enough to scare me from pulling on sub-DPS/hybrid resonators (because I lost 50/50 on all of their banners) in the future. Maybe my main account only has luck with DPS and support ones :(

Good news is, I can get Carlotta's signature weapon instead (because I was seriously near to getting one *sigh*). It should be good for my Aalto (and Chixia can borrow it when I start building her). Perfect timing because I was thinking of getting another Static Mist for them to share...

Oh yeah, as of today, I'm done with farming the monkey's rock fist... just in time for 2.0! It should be easier to level up to 90 now that I already got them readied for everyone that needs it (well I still need shell credits and resonator xp but that's a problem for future-me XD).

Lol this got longer than I intended it to be...

Belated Updates

Kind of just realised that I didn't post anything on the first day of the month :P

Anyway... nothing new really.

Oh yeah. I got sick since Friday... so that's been fun :/ *sigh*
Funny thing is my hearing is more sensitive (hormones?) recently and certain songs and voices sound extra fine... I want to sing along to songs I'm listening on Spotify, while being sick. Such great time to be sick, right? XD. It is kind of perfect timing to practise singing songs with low notes though (but that might not be healthy for the throat on the long run :P.. honestly not easy to do anyway because I keep wanting to cough.. or be out of breath because of congested nose lol)

Still in a slow(?) reading period. Started reading a manga recently (after finishing Vol 2 of "7th Time Loop") and it's a nice... palate cleanser. Reading light-hearted shoujo manga in between books are very much recommended!

I'm also slowly going through my Watch Later playlist. I fast-forward parts I think I don't need to see, cut out (=remove) videos I'm not interested in watching anymore from the playlist... although I'm running out of videos that I could play in the background (oh well). I try not adding new videos whenever possible.

Oh yeah, finally finished posting a year worth of posts on my Wordpress blog(?). I called it my "On This Day" archive blog. It's similar to the list of posts I do yearly in this blog (here's this year's).. but it's by day format. Mostly it's made for my own convenience - you can take a look if you want to since it's public lol.

Before we leave September...

It's kind of funny thinking about it now but I was planning on updating this blog more often this month (since it's my birthday month)... and it obviously doesn't happen XD

I don't think anything significant happened since the last time I posted...

Reading is still slow as of now... even though I'm rereading the "7th Time Loop" series. BUT.. I think I benefit more from reading this slowly because I feel like I'm savouring the story more meaningfully, for some reason. Like I'm noticing some stuff and remembering more details. That's fun in its own way.
Oh right, I also decreased (yet again, last time was in April) my daily reading goal again to a mere "1 page per day" Yep, it has reached this level. I think it's at "it's either that or I'll stop reading altogether" level.
Currently looking for an alternative(s) to Evernote... that also means I need to housekeep the notes I have now, like, more strictly. *sigh* I do might end up re-subscribing for some more time because it's so hard to organise the notes I have on only one device (They count the web version as one device too *sigh*)...

I couldn't get the last copy of Aalto that I wanted. I kept getting Mortefi (for some reason), Danjin & Yuanwu lol

Of course, I've ascended/upgraded Xiangli Yao to Level 90! I've been fighting Scar (which is fun to do with Yao btw! It's like watching a scene from wuxia or xianxia Cdrama) every week since the day I claimed him. Will continue to fight him a few more times in the future for Spectro Rover...
Oh yeah.. Xiangli Yao's the second resonator I have with maxed-out skills (Jiyan's third lol). Did his first because he's in my current [overworld] team. It wasn't easy but it is more convenient to get the materials needed after reaching UL60.

I couldn't get Xiangli Yao's signature weapon for this account *sad sigh*... but at least now I'm sure I can get Jiyan's signature weapon in less than 20 pulls??? This account is totally skipping the Shorekeeper lol

Since I have more experience with the game now, I feel like I'm levelling up the Union level faster in my alternate accounts lol.. I was hoping that I could catch a breath in 1.3 but hmmmm.. maybe not. I still need to do 1.1 stuff in those accounts so that I can progress for 1.3. I probably will be skipping a lot of scenes (since I already went through them) to help me progress faster.

Finally went to the BBW books sale at ITCC Penampang today!

Surprisingly (or not?), I exercised great restraint(?) this time around lol. It does feel different from my 2019 experience. I know what books I want. I browsed through the titles faster & better (I think. Probably because I always do that online haha). It does help that the book prices don't feel as cheap as before (very understandable) so you will think more carefully before getting them. I'm also still in that pessimistic reader phase so I'm kind of very sceptic and suspicious of some of the books :P

I decided to stick with authors I've read from before and want to read more. That means I only found these two lol:

The Outward Urge - Yesssh, more Wyndham!
Parable of the Sower - It's quite hard to find her books on Shopee so I'm glad that I found one today

Probably will go there again once [or twice] more later (since they restock the books). Half hoping that I can find more books I'm interested in next time...

WuWa - Tiny Update!

Last night, I finally got Changli's signature weapon for my Fenn account~! *belated cries of joy*

I made it just in time since there's a day left (or less) to get it... my luck with limited weapons is not very good recently (except for Jiyan's weapon which I got in less than 30 pulls). In my main account, I got Jinhsi's weapon around 60+ pulls... I did get Changli's weapon around 10+ pulls for my RuRu account but it's also almost (or more) 60 pulls for Fenn. I don't think I could afford to pull for Zhezhi in my main account so I might try for her using my alternate accounts.

WuWa - I finally beat that Level 120 Lightcrusher!
Unfortunately, I didn't take a screenshot of getting the trophy pop-up because I was too excited haha

Yup Jiyan didn't survive XD (had to revive the team several times)

I have a Level 120 Lumiscale Construct & a pair of Lvl 100 Glacio Dreadmanes left... *sigh*

I'm not really good at dodging so my strategy (lol) for this was... Aalto. He saved me when I stumbled upon Scorpion's Nest (my Rover & Jiyan were dead at that point) by killing the remaining Diamondclaws. Started appreciating him more after that lol. At first he was just that convenient gun character :P... I chose him because I kinda like how he looks. Didn't realised until later that he's actually a good fit for the team (I just have to use him first before Jiyan). I did changed his main echo (usually it's Bell-Borne Geochelone) to Lumiscale Construct because it can parry attacks (and actually gave higher Glacio damage, I noticed, although that's not the main point lol). I also waited until I could get Aalto's skills (the important ones, at least) to Level 7 or 8 and his weapon (Static Mist) upgraded to Level 80.

M3GAN

Oh hey, finally finished watching this last night (3 days ago so... 7/26)... Oof. It's not good. I find the main characters annoying and unlikable. The true villain is the aunt really... Also, it's kind of annoying how the characters kept asking questions (I sound like I'm nit-picking at this point lol)... I guess they really don't want to tell why M3GAN is like that (content for the sequel, maybe?). [Anyway.. saw a review on Letterboxd that mentioned about the Asimov's First Law of Robotics... Unfortunately, the programming of the robot in this one totally didn't follow that XD which is... fine(?), I guess, if they want to do it their rules. But it still feels dirty for some reason.. which brings us back again to the aunt being the villain for not thinking far enough]

I stumbled upon this site few nights ago. It's interesting to compare my records with their estimated time of finishing a book. I did their reading test and got 227/232 WPM (honestly it's not the kind that is easy for me to read so I'm not surprised I got that). I think it really depends on the genre and writing style really. In my case, at least. When I'm obsessed with the book/series, it's like I read faster than usual lol

Forgotten Post

Forgot to post about these yesterday~

I received some books:

I had a phase in my life where I was quite obsessed with the manga of "True Love Fades Away When the Contract Ends"... I was going to read the WN but I got distracted lol. It's not isekai... more of a historical fiction romance and I love the main characters! I want to see how they get together. Anyway, it was a nice surprise to see that it got officially translated into English.

Oh yeah, after I finished reading "The Ark Sakura" (just an okay read, but I want to read more from the author), I just casually(?) decided that I'm rereading 7th Time Loop light novels :P

Thanks to my [selective] crappy memory, it feels like it's my first time reading it again lol... of course, I remember the major events but honestly some small, detailed parts make me go "Oh I don't remember this from before" or "Oh yeah, this happened...".

So far, some of the things are:

Rishe thought Arnold is beautiful in the beginning (totally can relate XD... seeing the illustrations in the light novel reminds me again how handsome he is)
I don't like Mary. She's the girl who snatched Rishe's ex-fiancé away. Rishe doesn't hate her but remembering how she told lies about Rishe which made Clown Prince Dietrich do the whole condemnation & engagement-breaking thing, I don't need/want to like her. It wasn't a focus in the light novel (though there are extras in the manga about her sob story), but her character can easily be like one of those cockroach b*tches. I guess it's fortunate she sounds like a clever one at least but still... don't need her~! (Can't wait for the story to move on to Galkhein)
I remember this one but it still surprises me that Rishe's parents are so horrible. They wouldn't even let her get her stuff after knowing the broken engagement. Gah! I guess it makes it easier for us (the readers) - we don't have to care about her family.
It's mentioned that Rishe learnt how to use a sword for basic self-defence during her noble lady days. So it shouldn't be suspicious that she's able to wield one (although I guess what Arnold find interesting is that she acts like a trained knight/swordswoman, which was an experience she got from her 6th life)

...that's all for now. I've been reading super slowly. Reading hasn't been smooth-sailing these past couple of months. Now it feels like I want to read everything but I don't want to read fast (or maybe I just can't sit down long enough to read for a long period of time hmm).

July’s Rainy Tuesday

On this day... I posted thrice in the past on July 2nd: 2021, 2022 and 2023.

2021

It was raining heavily when I woke up in the morning at a quarter to nine.

What a coincidence. We've been having that more lately. It was also raining heavily today :(

And that annoyed me today because that's probably the reason we're not getting water supply again... the Water Department haven't been updating their notices but I suspect it's due to muddy/murky(?) water because that's what usually happen when we have too much rain. ~~I hope they'll give their official excuses soon so that I can curse [them] properly in my mind.~~
Edit 7/3: There's still no updates to the notices section (honestly, I think they gave up since it hasn't been updated since May) but their news(?) section did mention the Kasigui water treatment plant (it's closed/under maintenance due to flood). *long sigh* Our area isn't in Penampang but we're near so I guess we're also affected by this... it can't be helped then 😶

A post about books I received around that time. Among those books, I've only finished reading "The Poems of Nakahara Chuya" :P (and "Jane Eyre" of course, although I haven't reread it)

2023

Not going to pick a new book from the jar today. I'm pretty much still in a [physical books] reading slump so I'm going to make it easy for myself.

Oh my... that was the month I started having that reading slump lol

What's the status today, you ask?

As I said before, it's pretty much just mood reading nowadays :P. I'm learning to accept that I'm not reading like when I was younger. I'm also thinking of doing more "irresponsible" reading... which I imagine would be 'start many books, finish few'...? It's how I've been reading my manga/manhwa currently. I don't even care if it's an ongoing series, I can just read something else before I return to that series.

Also just realised that I do DNF books, only not books I've purchased (if I do, I do it reluctantly)... *sigh* but I will still consider myself someone who rarely DNF books because I rather hate-read.

Anyway, I'm kind of a pessimistic reader at this moment. I question almost all books (especially the popular ones and/or regularly covered by booktubers) whether they are good because I don't feel hopeful.

✦ Physical Books

I'm still generally in a slow reading mode (very reading slump-like). But recently, I found solace(?) in reading a non-fiction book about Youtube... I actually started reading this last December but hadn't pick it up again since because that's just how I am with non-fiction books XD... It's more about Youtube's history on viral videos (so far) and I've been having fun with reading about memes I'm not familiar with. Usually, they are just those I didn't participate in watching for some reason in the past but I did hear about some of them. It's interesting how they were viewed as weird and kind of revolutionary at that time but they would totally be (& sound) normal nowadays.

✦ e-Books

It's slow reading in this area too but that's nothing new. I started reading a new book at the end of April... & although it's romance, it's of a subgenre I'm not used to: K-pop Romance. LOL. I'm only "willing" to jump into reading this because I used to read the author's stories on Tumblr (loved her writing!). If she still writes the same way, there shouldn't be any problems in enjoying the book...

✦ Manga/Manhwa

Been [re]reading some saintess-themed ones recently (because apparently that's the mood I'm in for haha) and one of it is "A Tale of the Secret Saint".... Gah!!! I'm really curious about which of them is the reincarnation of Sirius! I don't think it's confirmed yet in the web novel but I might be wrong... I guess that means I need to read the WN next *sigh*

Anyway, kind of got reminded how disgusting their version of "modern" saintesses are. Like seriously, ewwww. I don't even want to call them cockroach b*tches. They are just disgusting saintesses as of now (it's a category of their own, evil and fake saintesses might not be included). Yes, there are still some nice ones but the ones that are not are really irritating. I can't stand seeing them embarrass themselves, parading around with their meagre powers, in front of the great(er) [but secret] saintess Fia.

Oh yeah, I think at this point it's already an open-but-not-really secret that everyone knows that Fia's a saintess or at least has some great powers XD, even if it's by feeling or sense (like seriously, it should be easy to deduce she's one with the things she said and done lol). I'm not even going to be surprised if she makes the reveal later on and people around her will just be "We already [kind of] know that! That's old news!" :P

On manhwa side, I've been enjoying some funny and absurd ones recently. There were some angsty ones but I was rest assured from some spoilers that they would be worth it. Some time ago, I acknowledged to myself that I don't mind angst in stories just as long as the pay-off is a good one. That usually mean I want it to have a happy ending and all the bad guys get their just deserts, in whichever form that might be.

Rain, rain, come this way...

I'm here to complain about the weather~~~

We had a few rainy days every week this month but the other non-rainy days were just humid hot... the humidness makes it so much worse gahhhh I hate it!

So... I ended up going to the Matta fair at SICC last Friday with my family. Main reason of going: I wanted to be in a air-conditioned room (it was good cooled air btw! lol) hahahah seriously though. The weather is hot enough for me to complain at least once daily *sigh*

After that, we stopped by at Suria Sabah for lunch. Also tried llaollao frozen yoghurt for the first time there with Biscoff crumbs, pistachio sauce and Biscoff sauce as the toppings. Really loving that Biscoff sauce though, that's like one of my favourite textures for eating lol

I've been watching some of this season's anime but the watching slump is still so bad... Wouldn't surprise me if I abandon some of them (to watch for later)
Started watching "The Legend of ShenLi" (it will forever bother me that the official title isn't "Shen Li" or "Shenli" lol) and fell in love with the opening instrumental theme (another link, just in case). It's soooo good!

Reading

Finished reading "Queen of the Tiles". It was just okay, I guess. I don't particularly find the characters likeable. Including the dead character (not spoiler btw) the title of the book refers to.
Started reading "Chess"... I'm reading it very slowly so I'm pretty much still in the beginning...

Dark Thoughts

Reading has been... annoying.

I guess it's just the usual(?) reading slumps...? Although I am feeling a bit more mean in my head recently so that might has some kind of effects or something. I couldn't stand watching some videos on books/reading on Youtube so I've been DNFing them (the only times I like to use the term lol). I kid you not, mean-me was thinking how pretentious some of them are. I was rolling my eyes mentally, physically, subconsciously, and at times, belatedly (as I question myself why am I even watching this lol). I must be in my dark thoughts era (or... it could just be PMS symptoms *sigh*. They are usually that).

Oh yeah. Decided to decrease my daily reading pages goal again by half. It's either 5 pages per day or 5 months (or more) of not/barely reading any physical books. Of course that's an exaggeration... but I'm pretty sure I'm capable of doing that. Well, it might still happen in the future...

LBQ's "Borneo"

I'm here just to say I've finished writing down the quotes I found from books I was reading from end February until now. Too...many... quotes... Anyway, my not-really reading journal that was started from 2021 is near the end (I think it has few more months?)... I probably need to use a different format after that because I usually write long quotes and this weekly journal format doesn't really fit...? Since it's not like I found new quotes everyday *sigh*

Oh yeah, I finished reading Vol 5 of Last Boss Queen few days ago. Some tears were shed but it's not the sad kind (I think?)... The volume focused on multiple point of views but I guess it's kind of a volume that did a minor focus for Callum and Alan...? Since there was that scene with the original [Queen] Pride in the beginning. It's very interesting comparing that to how frustrated and guilty they felt in the end of the book (and Pride being very glad that they are alive - it really hits differently).

Also... "Borneo" (as a person's name) made it into LBQ world XD

Unfortunately, he's a shady character :P

I forgot to mention about this in my previous post: Recently, I am (was?), yet again, saved by spoilers! Seriously, what's new about this? lol

Anyway. So... the manhwa started with some interesting... events. Couldn't wait to read further so I found some spoilers on Reddit (a change from the usual spoilers from NU lol) that said the male lead is trash. Like, almost all the comments said so (and some with examples). I had my share of manga with toxic people/relationships in the past and so I know it's best to stop as soon as possible.

Received a couple of books this week~ One is the first volume of "The White Cat's Revenge as Plotted from the Dragon King's Lap" which is the only book left in my recent Kino order... I wasn't charged the shipping fee for this second shipment. That arrived today. Yesterday was the other book. The one on Carousell that I mentioned recently.

Oof haven't been updating this blog weekly last month...

Oh well~ it's not like there's much to update on anyway.

Last month was a slow reading month. I felt it enough to want to make up(?) to it this month... Though I'm thinking of more of short books and easy(?) reads so hopefully I'll be able to that this month XD

I finally found the self-published book I've been wanting to get (because my dear beloved friend Mel :P got me engrossed with the story which was originally posted on Facebook) on Carousell! I consider it a small price to pay to get my curiosity satisfied. I don't even remember how the story went lol (I guess that means I have to read from the beginning again...)

Currently kind of obsessed with the game "Murder by Numbers"... more specifically the logic puzzles - nonograms - it's a fairly simple(?) game but it challenges my mind so much I just love doing them lol~ I usually play it with some Youtube videos I don't mind playing at the background.

Oh, right! I finally finished watching S2 of "The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent"... Yup, totally knew they would end at that part XD... It ended so beautifully though - I'm happy with Sei & Albert's couple development ♥

That said, I don't think I'm out of anime watching slump yet... I am still trying to catch up with "7th Time Loop" anime. Also kind of in the mood of re-watching "Last Boss Queen", maybe will do that after I finish reading Volume 5...

Volume 5 of "Last Boss Queen" is... bloody. I really love the character developments for some of the characters though. Tiara is a bad-ass with knives! ...and Cedric finally have something that impress me :P.. I didn't really know how to feel about his character in the previous volume but the development he went through caught my attention. Oh and we get some parts told from Tiara's POV (that's new!) which I hope to see more in the future~

They arrived today

The books I mentioned in the previous post arrived today~

Chess - I guess this book will be my introduction to Stefan Zweig's works...? I don't really remember how I ended up looking for his books in the past (I think it was a Chinese movie that was based on one of his short stories/novellas...). It was only at interest level at that time. Then I got convinced to read one when it was mentioned by someone on Youtube.
Fate - It's the sequel to "Death Notice"! Looks thicker than its predecessor... Hmmm. So it will take me... two months to finish? Luckily I found a version that matches the the version of "Death Notice" that I have.

Most probably will read both books this year.

I finally finished [re-]playing an old-time favourite game: "Ghostbusters: The Video Game". It still feels as good as before! I did get "stressed out" during one of the parts where you play solo though. I didn't realise until I got a headache due to stiff shoulders... wow that hasn't happened for so long since the last one. It usually too late when it happens. Anyway, instantly got some 20GB data back upon uninstalling the game :P (I need to finish more of the ones I got installed *sigh*)

Recently purchased some books from Kino. One of the books isn't in stock so I need to wait 3-4 weeks. Probably. Because today I just realised they had shipped out the ones that were in stock (I think I got the last copies because they went out of stock soon after I made the order). They never did that before. So either the other book will get cancelled or they'll just ship it later (which got me worried about the shipping cost...)

Hasn't been enjoying some contents on Youtube so I just instantly DNF them or not add them to my Watch Later playlist. I can't even be bothered to let them play in the background. Currently, that's the kind of mood I'm in.
