WuWa - I finally beat that Level 120 Lightcrusher!
Unfortunately, I didn't take a screenshot of getting the trophy pop-up because I was too excited haha

Yup Jiyan didn't survive XD (had to revive the team several times)

I have a Level 120 Lumiscale Construct & a pair of Lvl 100 Glacio Dreadmanes left... *sigh*

I'm not really good at dodging so my strategy (lol) for this was... Aalto. He saved me when I stumbled upon Scorpion's Nest (my Rover & Jiyan were dead at that point) by killing the remaining Diamondclaws. Started appreciating him more after that lol. At first he was just that convenient gun character :P... I chose him because I kinda like how he looks. Didn't realised until later that he's actually a good fit for the team (I just have to use him first before Jiyan). I did changed his main echo (usually it's Bell-Borne Geochelone) to Lumiscale Construct because it can parry attacks (and actually gave higher Glacio damage, I noticed, although that's not the main point lol). I also waited until I could get Aalto's skills (the important ones, at least) to Level 7 or 8 and his weapon (Static Mist) upgraded to Level 80.

M3GAN

Oh hey, finally finished watching this last night (3 days ago so... 7/26)... Oof. It's not good. I find the main characters annoying and unlikable. The true villain is the aunt really... Also, it's kind of annoying how the characters kept asking questions (I sound like I'm nit-picking at this point lol)... I guess they really don't want to tell why M3GAN is like that (content for the sequel, maybe?). [Anyway.. saw a review on Letterboxd that mentioned about the Asimov's First Law of Robotics... Unfortunately, the programming of the robot in this one totally didn't follow that XD which is... fine(?), I guess, if they want to do it their rules. But it still feels dirty for some reason.. which brings us back again to the aunt being the villain for not thinking far enough]

I stumbled upon this site few nights ago. It's interesting to compare my records with their estimated time of finishing a book. I did their reading test and got 227/232 WPM (honestly it's not the kind that is easy for me to read so I'm not surprised I got that). I think it really depends on the genre and writing style really. In my case, at least. When I'm obsessed with the book/series, it's like I read faster than usual lol

This is not that kind of post

Oof haven't been updating this blog weekly last month...

Oh well~ it's not like there's much to update on anyway.

Last month was a slow reading month. I felt it enough to want to make up(?) to it this month... Though I'm thinking of more of short books and easy(?) reads so hopefully I'll be able to that this month XD

I finally found the self-published book I've been wanting to get (because my dear beloved friend Mel :P got me engrossed with the story which was originally posted on Facebook) on Carousell! I consider it a small price to pay to get my curiosity satisfied. I don't even remember how the story went lol (I guess that means I have to read from the beginning again...)

Currently kind of obsessed with the game "Murder by Numbers"... more specifically the logic puzzles - nonograms - it's a fairly simple(?) game but it challenges my mind so much I just love doing them lol~ I usually play it with some Youtube videos I don't mind playing at the background.

Oh, right! I finally finished watching S2 of "The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent"... Yup, totally knew they would end at that part XD... It ended so beautifully though - I'm happy with Sei & Albert's couple development ♥

That said, I don't think I'm out of anime watching slump yet... I am still trying to catch up with "7th Time Loop" anime. Also kind of in the mood of re-watching "Last Boss Queen", maybe will do that after I finish reading Volume 5...

Volume 5 of "Last Boss Queen" is... bloody. I really love the character developments for some of the characters though. Tiara is a bad-ass with knives! ...and Cedric finally have something that impress me :P.. I didn't really know how to feel about his character in the previous volume but the development he went through caught my attention. Oh and we get some parts told from Tiara's POV (that's new!) which I hope to see more in the future~

A Feb 29th Post

It's pure coincidence but I love the fact that this post was published at 11.29pm :P

This post HAS to be made today because apparently I never posted on this day in the past! I'm also going to give it the "1st post" label because in my opinion, it is one~!

I don't really have much to blog about today though XD

Oh! I guess I can talk about the books I've finished reading recently.

Finished "Leviathan Wakes" on Feb 27th~~~ Earlier than scheduled (I planned for it to be the whole month XD). I like it! It scratched that Mass Effect itch LOL... No wonder it's recommended for Mass Effect fans. Loved the writing style too! Honestly, I was wary of two-writer team (it's not like I've read a lot of them, but I really isn't impressed with the ones I did. There are only a few of them that I like and am okay with)... and I actually didn't know this was one :P so that made it even better after finding it out.

Also, just finished "Death Notice" like 20+ minutes ago (a few minutes after 11pm). Oooh I quite enjoyed the book... dunno why it somehow reminds me of "Maou" by the end. Only this time, you're mostly on the police's side. Honestly though, I'm more interested in Captain Pei's being the Sherlock (there aren't much but you see a bit of it here and there) than Eumenides' identity. Maybe I'll see more in the sequel?

I'm reading (re-reading, kind of) the 9th Volume of "The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent" light novel next. I think I have my fill of books with so many deaths this month~

Snacky Spoilers

Spoilers are like... snacks. You can't have too many of it. And yet, there'll be some days where you overindulge on them.

Which, in my opinion, is totally fine by me :P... Both ways...

It's only a bit overwhelming at times haha. My memory is crap anyway so I guess that must be partially why I'm okay with reading spoilers - because I wouldn't remember all of them anyway XD

[At the same time, I'm amazed with my selective memory :P... I could pretty much remember most of the stories I read, albeit some triggers/keywords are needed, I'm just still bad at remembering titles and character names haha]

But spoilers are good these few days. It helped me decide if I want to keep reading certain manhwa because spoilers bring hope~! Although, honestly, I could do without those MTL-ed spoilers - they mess my brain so bad :\

Received a couple of books today~

The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent LN #9 - Finally~! Although I guess it's just me rereading it in English this time :P... Speaking of this, I made progress in watching the anime today - I'm finally at the Hawke domain arc!!! *proud*
The Ark Sakura - I did start reading his other book, "The Woman in the Dunes", in the past (borrowed online) but didn't manage to finish it *sigh*. I wanted to get the physical version but the version I wanted doesn't seem to be in stock. I guess I'll try finishing this one first to really see if I like the writing style.

There's a bit difference regarding the pages I read [so far] this year with Goodread's data but I won't think much of it lol... (I did add the amount of pages to those without it but it still doesn't match after regenerating).

Anyway, since LT has the almost complete record of my books, it has the most updated amount of books... including how much new ones get entered...

Haaah... couldn't watch any Netflix shows since they started stopping people from sharing password few months ago :(

This one is about anime...

Rewatched "The Saint's Magic is Omnipotent" last night while sewing the other half of the zip on my jacket. It was better when you watch it in one sitting lol..

Honestly, I haven't been watching much anime from this season. I guess the anime I watched from previous season really did a number on me since it caused an anime watching slump lol.. I did re-watch the first season of "The Saint's Magic is Omnipotent" and some earlier episodes of second season but progress is slow... I might catch up with S2 soon since it just ended (I think? I kind of recognised that thumbnail that looks like that scene XD).

Oh gosh~

I have a new idea for another reading jar (I really love my jars lol). A TBR jar!

Damn. I didn't even get the chance to use it lol... now I'm "scared" of reading jars. Okay, maybe I'll be okay with the alphabet thing I mentioned before but haaah... the idea is still scary (=reading slump-inducing)

On to S2!

Woke up with a dry throat today. It's most probably due to dehydration... but it might be also the sick kind so let's wait and see. Currently, it's just a bit feeling of discomfort (but still annoying haaaaah).

Oh yeah, I finally finished re-watching first season of "The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent". Had to skip scenes with Kyle because I can't stand any clown princes at this moment. Also, skipped Aira scenes when she's still with Kyle's entourage. I guess her character is fine - at least she's not a cockroach b*tch - but I really don't have a great impression of her character (very unfortunate) so I have no interest in watching her before she leaves Kyle side.

Also started on the second season (aww.. I'm just two months late lol) straight away and I'm surprised to see the opening scene! I guess we'll at least reach that arc in this season (including that one important scene, just because I saw it in the teaser... it most probably will be in the final episode).

Fangirling again

Haven't been watching any anime recently (I guess it is some kind of anime fatigue from previous season lol) but yesterday I'm finally back into the mood~! For now, I'm re-watching first season of "The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent" before I start watching the newest season.

The result(?) is... I've started shamelessly fangirling over Sei & Albert again :P~ It feels so different watching the first season after reading the light novels. I got a bit teary-eyed watching how we almost lost Albert in the first episode... that dramatic scene in the end coupled with the ending theme was per~fect ♥

One thing I noticed (or more like "confirmed"), Sei is actually more angry (in a passive-aggressive quiet way) about the whole summoning thing in the light novels/web novel. I don't think it's shown that much in the anime (which is fine either way really, doesn't take away the fun). There's the whole thing about her keeping mum about her status (which indicated clearly that she's the saint) and her reluctance to let other people appraise/see her status.

Another thing. After reading various manga/manhwa with saints in them, I think this series has one of the best treatment towards a saint (excluding that Prince Kyle, of course). They are very respectful towards her. This includes the king and his aides.

Anyway... I'm fangirling over them again XD... Totally having fun seeing how smoothly Albert flirts with her and how Sei slowly falling in love with him~ ahhh & Albert's voice is so nice to listen to ♥

Joker

Some thoughts today~

CMBF #6

Just finished watching both parts of #6. Loved the performances in this episode! Quite amused by Nicholas Teo having a hard time doing an evil smile/laugh for his tribe's song ("Joker")... & their stage concept was really fun (I love the circus theme)! Had goosebumps watching them - I think they deserve their win.

...aaah I guess it's time to make my own Youtube playlist for my favourite performances on "Call Me By Fire" so that I can play them easily in the future~

Anime

Fall season for anime has started (including "The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent" S2!). I think I'm not going to [hopefully] follow many from the beginning... maybe only the familiar ones (I guess it's better that way since I need to re-watch the previous season of some of them...). I'll wait maybe five episodes before deciding to watch any new ones.

Reading

I might try to finish "The Homeward Bounders" tomorrow. Haaah... haven't decide what to read after that.

Some "cleaning"
This will be pretty gross to talk about but I really want to mention it here. We have been having frequent visits by a couple of cats recently (one stray cat, one neighbour's "lost" cat)... and the stray one was being weird! He brought a dead rat and a dead bird and left them in front of the entrance. Gah. Had to dispose them today ASAP before they rot more because I don't want to deal with the dead carcass smell in the future (ahhh I can already imagine the smell......). I guess they're pretty recent because I was still able to be near them [to pick them up].

Smooth Albert

On Volume 8:

It happened! It's finally happening...!

Honestly though, the theatre/opera date with Yuri was surprising but I don't hate it. Apparently there's a tiny part of me that would also like to see Sei/Yuri together XD... I guess it's like a fanservice for fans that ship them...? I think they're more like friends(?) though, friends that like to discuss about research stuff... and sometimes they are rivals (I find it cute when Yuri heard she levelled up again and went out to exterminate monsters on his day off to catch up with her :P)

I guess we should thank Yuri though because he caused someone to finally make his move. Also, finally... his POV on how he fell in love with her! And the deliberate past attempts at flirting with her to get her attention... smooth, smooth Albert! I confess that was one of the few scenes in the anime that made me got so invested in them... I was like "Is....he in love with her?????" all the time XD

Anyway, now that I caught up with the latest translated version (Vol 8)... I'll move to reading Volume 9 in Japanese... then catch up with the web novel version later. I also want to re-watch the anime before the 2nd season started airing (in Oct, I think).

After I caught up with the web novel, I'm going to start reading 7th Time Loop light novels :P

August's Goals

Honestly, I almost forgot about this due to my excitement yesterday haha (I really finished Volume 8 in one day~ Go me!)

July's

(Very) Big Goal:
Wake up early

Small Goal:
Finish reading "Heaven's Shadow" & "The Trouble with Mr. Darcy"

22 days~ Haaah... fortunately still over 20 days...

Also, I completed my small goal successfully... Finished reading "The Trouble with Mr Darcy" on July 16th. "Heaven's Shadow" was finished on July 26th. This goal came with an inevitable consequence *sigh*. I've put a stop to picking new books from the jar every two weeks. I'm not going to read any new physical books anymore except for books I know I'll enjoy (for now, Saint and 7th Loop light novels)... so that means no randomly-picked reads.

This month's goals will be...

(Very) Big Goal:

Wake up early

Small Goals:

-Update books in my StoryGraph account

-Finish any two physical books from the "Currently Reading" page

I don't really need to but I want to see my reading stats on StoryGraph so I'm going to only add books I've read there. I added another small goal because I'm pretty sure I would only complete half of each of these two :P

Gahhh I finished reading Volume 7 today...

...but good news is, Volume 8 is on its way~~~!

Kino just shipped it out today ♡!

So... more food talk in Volume 7 but it ended with a trip(for work lol) to Albert's family domain near the borders. There were teasing... and hugs (KYAAA!)... and him losing his cool over Sei... I think I'll go reread that last chapter again because I'm easily pleased with such tiny(?) love developments ♡. Oh yeah his family domain has many kinds of cheeses and wines, and it has hot springs... when I read all that, I thought it's like kind of a big win for Sei (cheese fondues and onsen yay).. I guess the only con is it's far from the royal capital...?

Same reason with fanfiction.net, I want to use the bookmark feature. I think it will help(?) keep track the web novels I'm still reading. Caught up with more web novels today since I'm trying to organise the tabs opened in Chrome on my phone. Finished another one today.

Of course, no progress with the physical books I'm currently reading. I want to finish the 7th Volume of "The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent" but since I haven't got the 8th Volume (ordered via Kino), I'm procrastinating the reading :P

Anyway, [no pics but] I just received Volume 6 of "The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent" today. It took about a month for Kinokuniya to get it since it wasn't in stock (but available for order from publishers). Going to start that straightaway because... priorities. Haaaah still have to wait a month for the 8th volume.....

I've found another web novel to involve myself in [aka read]... At this point, who's surprised anymore, right? I definitely have too many to keep track of and I can see myself adding more in the future so.. yeah no point complaining(?) here really. I guess I just want to whine a bit here and then move on. It's no wonder that I'm in a [physical book] reading slump! I've been reading too much digitally *sigh*

If there's anything positive to be taken from this situation it would be that I might be able to switch back to reading one physical book at one time... which is weirdly, a comforting idea to ponder on.. amidst a reading slump.

Finished reading Volume 5 today~ It's all new-to-me (not adapted in the anime, at least not in the 1st season). Was kind of worried about the lack of Sei and Albert interactions but it was unnecessary... The food stuff is interesting too! We're also awarded with Albert upping his flirting(?) game that I feel like screaming "Just get married already!!!" XD

I had an easy and fun time finishing the fifth volume but I don't think I would have similar experience with my other physical books *sigh*. I guess it's fine really... it's fine to not read them if you're not in the mood... Honestly, I probably need to do something else other than reading, maybe that will help with the reading slump...

Translation: I started another web novel... (because I want to know what happen next). It features knights.

Finished volume 4 today though! The only physical book I care to read at this moment, apparently. Was a bit surprised that the arc at the end of the anime took two volumes! Started volume 5 straightaway because that felt like the right thing to do after finishing the previous volume.

Manga vibes(?) today involve knights... and dragons. Yum~

Don't really feel like reading physical books today... but I might continue with volume 4 of "The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent" because gyaaaahh.... Remember my fascination(?) with voice(d) comics? Apparently there's one with Albert Hawke! Not exactly comic (or manga) though. Just something like an audio drama from his point of view (the seiyuu is Hatano Wataru). Still in the middle of listening to it... but so far it sounds like a feast for my the ears ♥.

Goner

Finally finished volume 2 of "The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent" today. Still annoyed with the red-haired prince in that one chapter and suffered second-hand embarrassment from reading the part where he made a fool of himself (SIGH). I've yet reached the arc covered in the last part of the anime so I'm excited to start volume 3 today!

Also made some progress with "Heaven's Shadow"... this was... oof. Haaaah, I really don't care about what is happening so it has lost me in the introduction part. Maybe I'm just not a fan of the way its written. Tempted to DNF it because I have ~~web novels and manga~~ other things to read~

We had a power trip last night. Thought it was the usual blackout until I realised the other houses in the neighbourhood were fine. The culprit is the Tefal garment steamer purchased almost five years ago. I guess it's a goner now...

Cancelled

Been making slow progress with volume 2...

And... I tried pre-ordering the 8th volume via Kinokuniya yesterday and it got cancelled - apparently it's too early to order (it comes out in July). That somewhat gave me a shock because it's very unlike the pre-ordering routine I'm used to. I thought that's the point of pre-ordering stuff...??? *SIGH* I guess I'll try again on the release day...

To be honest, I'm kind of a bit bothered by it but I swept all those feelings under rug and spent some quality manga time to distract myself.
