I feel like I haven't done much blog-housekeeping recently lol

My memory is crap so I'll list out a to-do list of posts I will [hopefully] publish in the future

Yeah, when I'm not blogging daily... the blog can easily be unfamiliar the next day for some reason. Which is why I like the routine(?) of blogging at least once a week (although I haven't been doing that much this year lol). Well, I could try doing that more now (since my keyboard is not broken anymore). Sometimes I miss doing that post where I mention briefly about what I read so maybe I can do that too (if I ever get out of reading slump, maybe, lol). I do need to differentiate posts that are about reading in general and what I am/was reading though. Yes, I'll add a new label for that.

Belated Updates

Kind of just realised that I didn't post anything on the first day of the month :P

Anyway... nothing new really.

Oh yeah. I got sick since Friday... so that's been fun :/ *sigh*
Funny thing is my hearing is more sensitive (hormones?) recently and certain songs and voices sound extra fine... I want to sing along to songs I'm listening on Spotify, while being sick. Such great time to be sick, right? XD. It is kind of perfect timing to practise singing songs with low notes though (but that might not be healthy for the throat on the long run :P.. honestly not easy to do anyway because I keep wanting to cough.. or be out of breath because of congested nose lol)

Still in a slow(?) reading period. Started reading a manga recently (after finishing Vol 2 of "7th Time Loop") and it's a nice... palate cleanser. Reading light-hearted shoujo manga in between books are very much recommended!

I'm also slowly going through my Watch Later playlist. I fast-forward parts I think I don't need to see, cut out (=remove) videos I'm not interested in watching anymore from the playlist... although I'm running out of videos that I could play in the background (oh well). I try not adding new videos whenever possible.

Oh yeah, finally finished posting a year worth of posts on my Wordpress blog(?). I called it my "On This Day" archive blog. It's similar to the list of posts I do yearly in this blog (here's this year's).. but it's by day format. Mostly it's made for my own convenience - you can take a look if you want to since it's public lol.

Reading Schedule Generator! There was a period that I didn't use it... then when I got lazy about printing it, I just wrote the schedule down somewhere XD. I think the last time I was using it was to help with avoiding reading slumps (lol) until I started using the ReadMore app again. The app has its own reading schedule feature so I guess that means I still use one? XD

I don't use it for every book I read but currently I do use one for "Leviathan Wakes"....

Anime

--- Still kind of in a watching slump, but I'm trying to watch a few of them (the ones I've read before)... it's a slow progress *sigh*

Games

--- I've been watching some of John Wolfe's playthrough on his JohnTwolfe channel... I enjoyed watching his Dredge playthroughs! I think that kind of got me back to wanting to read some H. P. Lovecraft stories (Thanks, John! Although I haven't started reading it... XD). He just started playing Stray so I'm excited to follow that one next! He's also playing Lethal Company with his friends & it was fun chaos :P

--- I am still interested in doing a Mass Effect Weekend thing but I need to think more about how I'm doing it.

"What's the point of cleaning if it just gets messy again?"

--- Yep.

Spotify

--- Currently I'm obsessed with this one track from Strawberry Night movie OST

Spam

--- I'm noticing a weird thing in this blog's stats page (I think I'm getting some of those spam clicks?). If it gets out of hand I might make this blog private for a while.

Reading

--- Reading is... sufficient(?) at this moment. I'm reading just enough. "Leviathan Wakes" is surprisingly a comfortable read so far (considering the stuff happening in the story), I'm enjoying it so far! I'm also reading "Death Notice" and I like the mystery~

--- Recently, I've been reading "For My Derelict Favorite" (Thus, post title = Female lead's name). It started from the manhwa and now to the fan-translated web novel. I seriously need to know how it ends! The antagonist is a good [quality] villain. She's not exactly the cockroach kind (I thought of using praying mantis b*tch, since she's a saintess but maybe not... since FL called her queen bee... so... Queen Bee B*tch??) I love how FL uses QBB own beliefs against the Queen B*tch herself (wait, am I missing a word? :P). I can't wait to read more!!!

19th Blog Anniversary Post

Honestly, I almost forgot that today is the 19th anniversary of me blogging~! Haha I only remembered because I was updating my WordPress [archive] blog...

It will be the 20th year next year! Should I do something special???
Ooh, I can do something that runs from the other blog anniversary date until today next year...

Anyway, even though it's the 19th year today... I did skip two years in this blog - no posts in 2016 & 2018 but it's still valid. I updated my both my Tumblr (microblogs, duh!) in both those years. I also posted once in 2016 in my music diary blog.

Again, not really doing anything special today lol... I'm posting today just to acknowledge that I remember XD

Some random info of the day

-- I started using Twitter@X (April) & Tumblr (October) in 2009... though I'm not really active on both sites nowadays

-- I think it was because I want to keep track the which books I was reading so I made an account on LibraryThing on 19th February 2009 (15th year coming soon!). Interestingly, I only joined Goodreads a year later in June 2010. At that time, there was a limit of books you can add on LT so I use GR more. Started using LT more often since year 2020. I added all books I own in my LT account so that I have a place to refer to avoid buying duplicate books. GR mostly have books I already read.

-- I made an account on Youtube in April 2006, months before it was acquired by Google in November the same year. I didn't really use the site as much as current day before... I think it's at least a decade later that I started using it more often (there's that one time I realise that I enjoy seeing people playing games, especially horror games XD)

Too Much

I'm... tired.

~~That's too much reading in a month lol~~

Finished the last half of Volume 3 last night and the waterworks were very active after yesterday's post. That really caught me off-guard. Pretty sure that's why I got a terrible headache upon waking up today. Okay, maybe part of it was because of lack of sleep and hormones but still... my eyes feel dry today! ...I am excited to read to next volume though so, tears or no tears, I'm ready!

Anyway... I just want to do some comfort manga/manhwa reading now so anything end-year/new-year stuff will have to wait until tomorrow~~~

Oh yeah, this is the last post for this year so that means I've posted daily for the whole year~! Yay!

...Not going to do the same next year though lol

3 more posts(days) left till November ends. That means the NaBloPoMo run for November is going to end too.

Ah... it's the first time I updated my blog daily for a month~ Since then, I've also did something similar for a year (in 2021) and hopefully this year too...

For next year... I probably won't do it daily. Maybe something like last year's, which will still be quite frequent compared to before 2021.

Maybe I'll do more blog-surfing (reading other people's blogs) and commenting next month.

Lol. I don't think I leave comments in other people's blogs that often at that time but whoa.. I have that phase, huh. I believed that it's something I should do more because it's part of being a blogger... I'm surprisingly quite social back in the day haha.. Haven't been doing that recently. Partly because there aren't that many blogs that use the old-school style I like. Most of the time, I don't think I have anything to add to the blog posts...? Although just saying thanks or a simple greeting would be enough? I guess I'm just lazy to leave comments lol

It's a nice sunny morning and... I think I'm going use the jar today, instead of tomorrow.

Those were the days :P

When I decided to stop using the jar in July, some time after that I thought I might return to the jar in December... now I don't think I will do that. This physical book reading slump will be semi-permanent. I'm not really sure what that means yet but one thing for sure (this still rings true):

I'm going to wallow in my physical reading slump until whenever it ends(?).

I have no basis or reason for it but I think I might finish "Zodiac" soon. It's a pretty easy read so far despite me not caring about certain descriptions (so I might have missed some worldbuilding details due to that #oops)... not really into the writing style though.

On this day... I posted twice in the past on this same day and month. Once in 2011 and another in 2021.

2011

Oh wow another uni post... *sigh* I feel like I posted frequently in September in the past, probably because it's my birthday month.

I hate getting up late...

This makes me want to laugh bitterly... It hasn't been easy to wake up early nowadays. Hmm... I guess, in a way, I still feel that way..? Though it's not as intense as before, I would still feel guilty for waking up late. I guess 8am is the best time as compromise (to me, early is at 6am).

2021

Wordpress, huh. I still go blog-surfing there sometimes... Although after two years, I still have no idea what to do with my blog there.

...but this post is giving me some ideas (while I was composing this), it could be my "On This Day" archive blog...? Of course, mainly for my own convenience. If it's that, I don't have to post new things after I post for each day. I just need to edit whenever I have new posts. Just like the LJ-like monthly archives I made in this blog, the posts will be a list of posts from this blog by day. I don't know yet if I want to include other blogs but that can easily be added when needed.

And since I'm not in a hurry, I can just do one post daily. At the same time, I can learn how to use the platform for blogging~

■ Mood: Shocked

Ah, yes, I can just feel how eventful my weekend will be.

Firstly, my post yesterday came up empty lol... I forgot to delete some codes that was meant to hide a portion of a post (the effect can be seen here and here, only on desktop).

Didn't check it before I editing just now but I'm pretty sure it was/is okay on mobile because the codes don't work on the mobile version of this blog.

Secondly, I'm in that mood again. I'll take any sad but heart-warming stories this weekend, no problem~! A bit of angst is fine too (but not too much...). Perfect for these rainy days we're currently having!

Lastly, I was thinking of marathon-reading "Zodiac" during this weekend (alas, I only have Sunday left lol)... but that would depend on my ever-changing moods, unfortunately. It's still a bumpy read for me but I'm curious enough to keep reading for the mystery.

..Wow. I found another post with a photobucket image that I missed! *fixed*

*sigh* Been watching doramas/movies with survival/appreciate-your-life themes. I just suddenly felt like watching them. Hehe. I cried a lot watching "1 Litre of Tears".

Oof I don't think I can rewatch that dorama now... My eyes might suffer. (And I don't want to read sad stuff...)

Oh... but I'm interested in reading the book so I might check if Kino has it in stock.

Yeah, that is me doing the opposite of what I said again. The same person who doesn't like historical fiction but keep finding herself reading in the same genre. There's always that "What if I enjoy it" or "What if I like it" feeling that lingers when one makes such declaration(?). I guess that's why people say "Never say never".

Lately been thinking that being brave is more important than having confidence. I've always thought that confidence is just a façade. It doesn't help at all having confidence [alone] after you failed... to do something. Courage is better.

Honestly... I might have a vague idea why I wrote this... but I don't really remember what triggered it. *sigh*

It still sounds true to me today although I don't know why I'm itching to say something against it :P

2021 post
Since the post title is 'I See "Red"'... hmmm I don't think I've gotten angry at something recently. Maybe only when I read fictional stories... I don't really remember real-life ones. I'm not counting the times when I got irritated though.

Today I had this random thought:
I want a large-sized set of playing cards.

Lol this thing... hmmm ridiculous thing I want to purchase but didn't on Shopee, huh.. recently, that would be an hourglass. Yup. Just thought of wanting it after seeing it in the background of a video on Youtube.

I don't really know how I manage to do it but... I've chosen which book to read today. I tried doing it by mood(?) although I don't think I'm in a certain mood or something... which was why it's a bit hard to choose. Having that "50 pages" daily goal will help to keep me in check, I guess. The amount is just right for someone who dread(?) reading physical books XD

Been reading some more on the Album Archive thing... what I understand so far, the images on Blogger should be fine? I guess I won't be uploading and replacing manually all posts with images for now. I might have to save the posts (save page or save in Evernote or print page as pdf) in some way so that I'll know which image goes where (experienced this problem already with Photobucket).

Some kind of update to yesterday's post: It... might be okay? I hope there'll be more info in the following weeks. I'm currently looking for alternatives (or some sort of backup thing) so it honestly feels 0 and 100 for me. Just trying to be positive and pessimistic about the whole thing, like usual. My reaction yesterday was kind of funny though when I recall about it today lol.. I had to go lie down to escape reality(?) and half-hoped it's not real after I wake up haha. I really don't look forward to manually editing my old posts *sigh*

Most unexciting thing that happened today... one of the towers of books near my bed fell down (〃ﾟ艸ﾟ) ... might be time to tidy them up (but I don't wanna do it)...

Is it time to panic? Just saw an e-mail about Album Archive being discontinued. Mine has two albums(?) - One called "Photos from Hangout" and... "Photos from Blogger". That would mean I have to find a new place to host the images from this blog - it's over 500 for this one - arggggh this is so bothersome...!

Started reading "Deadlocked" yesterday and I feel the urge to laugh at random times because this is the 12th book in the series(?)... I'm just going to pretend I know the things they are talking about lol

I mean, think about it. When you meet new people, you sometimes don't need to know about their whole life. We end up in the middle of a "series" more often in real life.

...and that's me comparing reading to meeting people again today. What? I should try going out and touch grass sometimes? :P Not interested. I don't like how the sun is too strong recently. We keep getting weird hot humid days these past few weeks.

Today feels like a perfect day to play ME3 Multiplayer. Had some horror moments in some of the matches I played earlier (like playing solo without intending to haha)... The matchmaking seems better in the afternoon compared to at night for some reason. I noticed it only after I started using the EA app... I wonder if that's related...?

Fanfic Vibes

Last night, I suddenly thought of adding "Day of the week" labels in this blog. For what, I don't even know myself. ...Although today I feel like back-pedalling that decision (after adding the labels to my 2005-2008 posts, mind you). I guess it can be fun to see which days I post most. Anyway for now, I'll leave them alone... because I might change my mind again later.

So... I continued reading "Mr. Darcy's Bite" today and I'm a bit embarrassed to admit that I lost sleep over this book. LOL. As someone whose indifference towards werewolves are the same with vampires/witches/zombies etc, this book is actually interesting...??? It really reminded me of my fanfics binge-reading days (one of those good, well-written ones!). If I stay invested until the end, I might give this 4 stars.

Hot day. I left out a jar of chocolate (and forgot to eat :P) and each pieces melted and merged into each other.

Anime

☆ Found another cosy-looking isekai anime~ By the Grace of the Gods. The first season is from way back in 2020 so I'm a few years late but who cares! Hopefully I won't find any reasons to DNF it...

☆ Muse Asia is currently showing UtaPri 1000% so I guess it's time to ~~fall in love with~~ meet Tokiya again XD (The theme song really doesn't help, it has to be Tokiya :P... at least for the first season). It's also going to feel a bit different now with my newfound [but not really new lol] love and appreciation for Jinguji Ren.

Tumblr

Suddenly have the urge to revive my personal Tumblr today although I don't know where to start. Probably should start with cleaning up my following list. I could start reblogging stuff related to current life (like things I'm currently watching or reading). I used to add quotes from books I was reading too... where have all those moments gone to? *sigh*

Alien & Predator

Currently watching "Alien 3". Back to space! I saw this one on TV before but only the last half. The beginning got a big WTF reaction from me (imagine watching this directly from "Aliens" omg). As usual, people being unprepared again (although it's not really their fault), and f*ck there's animal death (I don't care if this is considered a spoiler, people should be warned!)... and a man-killing space cockroach that's hard to get rid of *shakes head*. Now I'm kind of looking forward to the crossover movies! I wonder what do you call those predator aliens? (I haven't got far into the series and I'm trying so hard not to stumble on spoilers. I did watch some of the newer movies but I don't remember much)

I mean, yeah, it's good for the country but it is not fun paying extra...*sigh* I guess it is time to buy less stuff from overseas.

It happened.

It wasn't January 23rd. I don't know the exact date but I'm pretty sure it's now... or since few months ago.

It's the day I feel like abandoning my non-existent New Year resolution.

Damn this feeling!

...Although it's kind of funny posting this a day after yesterday's post lol.. I guess I just want to acknowledge this. I've been skipping blog-posting more recently. It's not like I feel guilty or anything. I just think it's proof that I've been kind of unmotivated these past few months. Hmmm.. I guess it's a bit like a burnout?

So what am I going to do to deal with this?

Nothing much, I think. It's really a me problem. I might find new ways to get creative with my posts (say, what do you think of me blogging about my gaming adventures in the future?.... ~~it might just be about Mass Effect but still..~~ LOL). Maybe make a non-rigid soft (rough?) schedule/timetable? (that I might have fun creating but won't follow closely lol)

...had a great idea about combining links to my posts in Evernote to make it easier to refer to next time (especially great for OTD posts). It's okay if you don't understand. It's just me talking to myself. Anyway... definitely not the time to do this but... I really have to do it. I'll try doing it little by little since it's not that urgent.
