Rainy day...

25 pages daily has been an okay amount these few days. It might be less [again] in the future but let's not dwell on that today XD

One of the few things that doesn't bore me nowadays: John Wolfe and his wife Kimmy's playthrough of "Zero Time Dilemma". It took them a few years :P... (& I already finished it because I was curious... got interested in the games because of them) but better late than never~! It's fun watching/listening to their reactions and comments! Honestly, it's making me want to return to the game (but first, I need to play the first two games). I'm waiting for them to be on sale on Steam (or until I'm desperate to play it, since it does has a bundle deal)... Well, I can replay "AI: The Somnium Files" and play the sequel next while I wait...

1 // The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague

I think this is my favourite anime for this season. It's so cosy and chill XD

2 // Bofuri Season 2

I'm still watching this anime but... I find it tiring recently. I pretty much put it on 2x speed on Youtube. Surprisingly, it's not as bad as "Talentless Nana" & "So I'm a Spider, So What?"... I just don't think the theme is interesting anymore, it's pretty much predictable at this point.

3 // Hogwarts Legacy

Amazingly, since I don't follow the book series/fandom related to it, I find this game interesting...? Currently, I'm watching two playthroughs on Youtube... the gameplay looks fun so far.

4 // Monitor Stand

Last week, I finally use the monitor stand for the not-so-new-anymore monitor (got one under RM20 on Shopee lol). I think this will help lessen the neck pain thing I've been experiencing few weeks ago. I haven't tried playing Mass Effect multiplayer since then though... XD

5 // Mass Effect Weekend

Speaking of the game, I've been thinking... maybe I should make a weekly blog post of my Mass Effect playthrough? Just thought it might help with getting me continue my ME2 insanity playthrough...

6 // Organised Drawers

Did some organising for drawers in the kitchen today. It's actually nice to see organised. Maybe I do like that kind of thing. I just don't do it often because I don't like seeing they get disorganised again later. What's the point?

7 // "What's the point of cleaning if it just gets messy again?"

I kind of have this phrase stuck in my head whenever I'm unmotivated to clean up stuff but... it is, sometimes, important. If everything is in order, I don't lose things... and my things don't fall ~~and break~~ on the floor.

8 // Reading

It has been slow reading for me again lately. Sometimes it's not because I'm unmotivated... it's hard to read when you feel itchy or have blurry visions.

9 // Brave New World

I've been recalling this one song performed on "Call Me by Fire" (S2) recently... fortunately I remembered vaguely which song it was. Almost thought I would go to sleep with no answers XD

10 // Tumblr followers

I've been getting "new" followers on Tumblr recently... pretty sure most, if not all, of them are spam accounts. Don't really get why it's happening now. I mean, I kind of get it, but still don't get it at the same time.

11 // Distracted

Nothing new here but I feel like I get/got distracted more these past few days. It was pretty bad when I was window-shopping on Shopee :P

12 // Dead Space Remake

It's funny how I can't watch any playthroughs for this because... I'm actually in the middle of playing the original version. Me, playing a horror game??? XD

It's like the ultimate test for me who has gotten used to horror stuff :P

Anyway, progress has been slow so I guess I won't be watching any playthroughs for at least a decade haha

13 // Early

I wonder if I can wake up very early again after so many days not doing so XD

Salty Tears

Let me just list out some things I forgot to include in my posts this week:

Had a dream few days ago about alien invasion. These aliens came here and somehow "stole" our technology... I don't know how they do it but whatever technology we have isn't usable anymore. And they want to kill humans. It felt more like a thriller really. Fun... scary dream.
Just realised that I can't play UtaPri songs anymore on Spotify (they got geo-blocked)... :\
Yesterday saw this on Tumblr. Important Blue Internet Checkmarks XD... Loved that lol.. Saw some accounts who got it already, I think it looks nice :P

Also, Ryan Reynolds is on Tumblr... (Funny thing is I knew about it from an ask on Neil Gaiman's Tumblr haha).
...It's probably time to tidy up my digital followings/subscriptions again..

"Buying another book already owned" has happened to my mother XD (... though it kind of serves as a reminder for me to start putting the books from the family bookshelves in LibraryThing)
So... I just knew from an e-mail yesterday that CIMB's Kwik prepaid credit card is being discontinued... I applied for that years ago because I had problems with linking my Maybank ATM debit card to Google Play/Wallet (it was during its early days). In the end, I didn't really use it much other than for Spotify's subscription... and when I buy games on Origin and Epic, I guess. Honestly, I'm quite glad that this happen. Now I don't have to worry about that card anymore.
Been having dry eyelids problems (mostly on my right eye) since last month... It can get itchy whenever I go out and the sun is very strong. Recently I've tried wearing an eyepatch when I need to go out to get the laundry (although it has been raining more recently so there's really no need lol)... I mean, my point of telling this is... now I can't cry freely [for fictional characters] because the salty tears make it itchy. Yeah, I just want to complain about that haha.. I have to stop watching or reading if it's going to get me teary-eyed... Damn, I can't even yawn - if that is even possible (sleep early?) - or I'll get tears in my eyes. ~~Sweating is hell :(~~

"The Romance of Tiger and Rose" ended today. I... don't know what to say. I really did watch it casually so there were so many things that I don't know why they happened haha... Read a review online that this drama is better when you marathon-watch it. I kind of agree with that because that was how I didn't finish watching it last year (when it was still being released in a few episodes weekly). Maybe next time I'll re-watch it if I can find it again anywhere.

Anyway.. tried to clean my room again today but only managed to do a little bit. Which is still okay! Honestly didn't know where to start.

Made some progress on "The Color Purple". It's now at the part where things are being revealed and [better] things are happening. Might finish it soon.

A Slow Journey

On This Day post!

Only one post from the past and it's from the year 2019. Quite recent. And it's about art.

And... I'm bringing that quote back here (from my Tumblr):

It's actually from an article on musicjapanplus.jp but the site doesn't seem to exist anymore. There's an arama LJ post on that.

I still love that quote! It can apply to other things too, if you really think about it.

So it was kind of scary that some time in the middle of the year I suddenly had the urge to create art.

Yeah.. this was in 2019. I don't experience that urge that much this year but it's there. I still don't do it as often as I want.

I had that one moment where a voice inside me said, "I want to paint something." I didn't respond to that urge immediately though.

Didn't "hear" this "voice" much either. I think it's because I've allowed myself to go do it if I want? I don't know.

I'm...slowly getting there.

It's definitely a very slow journey :P

In 2013, I posted once in this blog on this same date.

"The Tokyo Zodiac Murders", huh.. I want to read that again. Randomly found it at the uni library. I think that's one of the books that got me into Japanese mystery novels. I don't have much at this moment but I do keep a lookout for them on Bookxcess (because they're usually sooo expensive). Some books are available for under RM40 on Book Depository.

Speaking of spoilers... I usually just try avoiding them while keeping an open mind. If I see just a tiny bit of certain paragraphs or scenes I won't be too hard on myself. Like me and The Hunger Game books/movies. Since my siblings watch the movies, it's unavoidable that I saw (and remembered!) some of the scenes in the movies (except endings, I try to avoid them like plague). Fortunately, it doesn't really affect my recent reading experience.

I love that you can filter/mute words on Tumblr (tags & post contents) & Twitter (mute words/hashtags). Add #spoilers ~~and all its variants~~ to the list and you should be okay, most of the time. If people post stuff without text and tags, then the filter/mute feature won't help much. Which is why I'm very picky of who to follow.

Thursday. Almost wanted to do a Thursday 13 post but... you know, it's not easy to list out 13 items. Believe me, just try it yourself. I might get to 10 but to complete a 13..? Not going to happen always. But I love that blog meme anyway and I try to do it whenever I can find 13 things to list (≧∀≦)

Oooh... I can do 13 old tweets kind of thing though? Like how can I show how self-absorbed I am if not that ( *´艸`)? I actually wanted to do something like a Twitter archive thing before but thought it's too troublesome. Doing this selection thing seems easier. Just like digging through my Tumblr posts.

Also have some ideas (in addition to the ones mentioned in this) what to blog in the future. Things like following tutorials by art Youtube channel? Although it will just be me blogging about the end result..? I mean you won't be seeing the process, I guess...

Anyway, last night I uninstalled the Tumblr apps on my phones. I don't know why I get so irritated by the ads that came on my dashboard lately. Used to not care before but recently it has been showing some weird sh*t that I prefer not to mention here. When I click the "i" thing, there's a link to manage the setting... on Facebook. WHAT? I don't have a Facebook account.

I have my suspicions. One of the phone I have is a hand-me-down Oppo F9 (my father's). Unfortunately, I didn't do a factory reset when I received it because I was too excited (and I'm too lazy to backup the files). Even though I already uninstalled the Facebook app, I guess there's still that ad-related data cache existing deep inside the phone...? So instead of mobile games ads and stuff I just searched on Lazada or Shopee, I got those sh*tty ads.. because of my father's Facebook ad data thingy.. I think? Just an unproven idea because I have no way of knowing. Also, resetting my Advertising ID doesn't help.

I might do the factory reset later. Just wanted to include it in my blog as a reminder for my future self.

Edit after a couple hours later:

I was curious so I did some googling and found this. Borrowed and checked my father's phone (with permission!).. Look what I found.

The four visible apps are mobile apps I'M USING ("was" in Tumblr's case; The other three are Voltage otome games). WTF. Cleared the history and turned off the option for "Future Off-Facebook Activity". I believe this is best for my ~~Boomer~~ father.

Interestingly, the 3 game apps aren't installed in the hand-me-down phone. So it's acting like a virus. From the installed mobile Tumblr app... to the other apps I have installed in another phone. That's so bizarre! Probably have something to do with the ads I viewed in the games voluntarily but these are two different phones!
