Tiny WuWa Update: Well, not much to update since I regularly do that lol anyways~ Ah... I can talk about today's...? Unfortunately, I lost my 50/50 to Jianxin (damn she's S3 now lol)... and since I had enough (kinda), I continued until I got Aemeath.
I haven't checked but it was definitely near 60ish pulls... Her signature weapon will have to wait next rerun (T_T)

Belated Updates

Kind of just realised that I didn't post anything on the first day of the month :P

Anyway... nothing new really.

Oh yeah. I got sick since Friday... so that's been fun :/ *sigh*
Funny thing is my hearing is more sensitive (hormones?) recently and certain songs and voices sound extra fine... I want to sing along to songs I'm listening on Spotify, while being sick. Such great time to be sick, right? XD. It is kind of perfect timing to practise singing songs with low notes though (but that might not be healthy for the throat on the long run :P.. honestly not easy to do anyway because I keep wanting to cough.. or be out of breath because of congested nose lol)

Still in a slow(?) reading period. Started reading a manga recently (after finishing Vol 2 of "7th Time Loop") and it's a nice... palate cleanser. Reading light-hearted shoujo manga in between books are very much recommended!

I'm also slowly going through my Watch Later playlist. I fast-forward parts I think I don't need to see, cut out (=remove) videos I'm not interested in watching anymore from the playlist... although I'm running out of videos that I could play in the background (oh well). I try not adding new videos whenever possible.

Oh yeah, finally finished posting a year worth of posts on my Wordpress blog(?). I called it my "On This Day" archive blog. It's similar to the list of posts I do yearly in this blog (here's this year's).. but it's by day format. Mostly it's made for my own convenience - you can take a look if you want to since it's public lol.

July’s Rainy Tuesday

On this day... I posted thrice in the past on July 2nd: 2021, 2022 and 2023.

2021

It was raining heavily when I woke up in the morning at a quarter to nine.

What a coincidence. We've been having that more lately. It was also raining heavily today :(

And that annoyed me today because that's probably the reason we're not getting water supply again... the Water Department haven't been updating their notices but I suspect it's due to muddy/murky(?) water because that's what usually happen when we have too much rain. ~~I hope they'll give their official excuses soon so that I can curse [them] properly in my mind.~~
Edit 7/3: There's still no updates to the notices section (honestly, I think they gave up since it hasn't been updated since May) but their news(?) section did mention the Kasigui water treatment plant (it's closed/under maintenance due to flood). *long sigh* Our area isn't in Penampang but we're near so I guess we're also affected by this... it can't be helped then 😶

2022

A post about books I received around that time. Among those books, I've only finished reading "The Poems of Nakahara Chuya" :P (and "Jane Eyre" of course, although I haven't reread it)

2023

Not going to pick a new book from the jar today. I'm pretty much still in a [physical books] reading slump so I'm going to make it easy for myself.

Oh my... that was the month I started having that reading slump lol

What's the status today, you ask?

As I said before, it's pretty much just mood reading nowadays :P. I'm learning to accept that I'm not reading like when I was younger. I'm also thinking of doing more "irresponsible" reading... which I imagine would be 'start many books, finish few'...? It's how I've been reading my manga/manhwa currently. I don't even care if it's an ongoing series, I can just read something else before I return to that series.

Also just realised that I do DNF books, only not books I've purchased (if I do, I do it reluctantly)... *sigh* but I will still consider myself someone who rarely DNF books because I rather hate-read.

Anyway, I'm kind of a pessimistic reader at this moment. I question almost all books (especially the popular ones and/or regularly covered by booktubers) whether they are good because I don't feel hopeful.

Reading Schedule Generator! There was a period that I didn't use it... then when I got lazy about printing it, I just wrote the schedule down somewhere XD. I think the last time I was using it was to help with avoiding reading slumps (lol) until I started using the ReadMore app again. The app has its own reading schedule feature so I guess that means I still use one? XD

I don't use it for every book I read but currently I do use one for "Leviathan Wakes"....

Anime

--- Still kind of in a watching slump, but I'm trying to watch a few of them (the ones I've read before)... it's a slow progress *sigh*

Games

--- I've been watching some of John Wolfe's playthrough on his JohnTwolfe channel... I enjoyed watching his Dredge playthroughs! I think that kind of got me back to wanting to read some H. P. Lovecraft stories (Thanks, John! Although I haven't started reading it... XD). He just started playing Stray so I'm excited to follow that one next! He's also playing Lethal Company with his friends & it was fun chaos :P

--- I am still interested in doing a Mass Effect Weekend thing but I need to think more about how I'm doing it.

"What's the point of cleaning if it just gets messy again?"

--- Yep.

Spotify

--- Currently I'm obsessed with this one track from Strawberry Night movie OST

Spam

--- I'm noticing a weird thing in this blog's stats page (I think I'm getting some of those spam clicks?). If it gets out of hand I might make this blog private for a while.

Reading

--- Reading is... sufficient(?) at this moment. I'm reading just enough. "Leviathan Wakes" is surprisingly a comfortable read so far (considering the stuff happening in the story), I'm enjoying it so far! I'm also reading "Death Notice" and I like the mystery~

--- Recently, I've been reading "For My Derelict Favorite" (Thus, post title = Female lead's name). It started from the manhwa and now to the fan-translated web novel. I seriously need to know how it ends! The antagonist is a good [quality] villain. She's not exactly the cockroach kind (I thought of using praying mantis b*tch, since she's a saintess but maybe not... since FL called her queen bee... so... Queen Bee B*tch??) I love how FL uses QBB own beliefs against the Queen B*tch herself (wait, am I missing a word? :P). I can't wait to read more!!!

This one is about anime...

Rewatched "The Saint's Magic is Omnipotent" last night while sewing the other half of the zip on my jacket. It was better when you watch it in one sitting lol..

Honestly, I haven't been watching much anime from this season. I guess the anime I watched from previous season really did a number on me since it caused an anime watching slump lol.. I did re-watch the first season of "The Saint's Magic is Omnipotent" and some earlier episodes of second season but progress is slow... I might catch up with S2 soon since it just ended (I think? I kind of recognised that thumbnail that looks like that scene XD).

Oh gosh~

I have a new idea for another reading jar (I really love my jars lol). A TBR jar!

Damn. I didn't even get the chance to use it lol... now I'm "scared" of reading jars. Okay, maybe I'll be okay with the alphabet thing I mentioned before but haaah... the idea is still scary (=reading slump-inducing)

3 more posts(days) left till November ends. That means the NaBloPoMo run for November is going to end too.

Ah... it's the first time I updated my blog daily for a month~ Since then, I've also did something similar for a year (in 2021) and hopefully this year too...

For next year... I probably won't do it daily. Maybe something like last year's, which will still be quite frequent compared to before 2021.

Maybe I'll do more blog-surfing (reading other people's blogs) and commenting next month.

Lol. I don't think I leave comments in other people's blogs that often at that time but whoa.. I have that phase, huh. I believed that it's something I should do more because it's part of being a blogger... I'm surprisingly quite social back in the day haha.. Haven't been doing that recently. Partly because there aren't that many blogs that use the old-school style I like. Most of the time, I don't think I have anything to add to the blog posts...? Although just saying thanks or a simple greeting would be enough? I guess I'm just lazy to leave comments lol

It's a nice sunny morning and... I think I'm going use the jar today, instead of tomorrow.

When I decided to stop using the jar in July, some time after that I thought I might return to the jar in December... now I don't think I will do that. This physical book reading slump will be semi-permanent. I'm not really sure what that means yet but one thing for sure (this still rings true):

I'm going to wallow in my physical reading slump until whenever it ends(?).

Currently I'm re-watching "Avenue 5" again. Coincidentally, the second season is now available... so can't wait to get there.

Wait...! That means it took me almost a year to finish re-watching S1 and watching S2! OMG.. Anyway finished S2 last week. Chaotic ending XD... I guess it's kind of understandable why it happened but I find it a bit annoying seeing Karen aiming for Ryan... surely what happened in the end isn't valid though, she's just twisting facts, right?

I'm also watching "A Quiet Place Part II".

Yeah... haven't finished that movie lol.. I'm not even sure if it's still available for streaming. Currently I'm in the middle of watching "Shin Godzilla" and I can't even finish that in one sitting (T_T)... why can't I sit long enough to finish watching a movie... *sigh*

Oh, it's that post.

While watching a video on Youtube yesterday, I stumbled upon a comment that mentioned a site that talks about influencers (I think. Didn't look around much.. just the youtuber part).

I barely remember what that was about anymore... which is good(?).

It's a mistake I don't wish to repeat again.

Yeah... I don't want to feel the same thing again so I'll run whenever I'm near such websites. There's reddit though... but I haven't been scrolling endlessly there recently so I'm good (for now).

2022

Wow, I really don't miss that at all!

Of course, you don't have to do laundry everyday but when I do manage to wake up early, it's Zombie mode for at the next two days.

The water pressure is still unstable now. There are good days, and there are bad days. Fortunately, I'm not really affected by that regarding doing laundry since I use the manual way to fill the washing machine with water (from the tank, when it's one of the bad days). It is better than last year but they can do even better, I think.

...ah I do still have sleeping problems, which are encouraged by other problems, but let's not talk about that today :P

Finished "The Mill House Murders" today. It was surprisingly easy to read. Most of my guesses are correct (including the plot twist!) but it's still fun to read how they happened. One of the relationships made me feel a bit uncomfortable though. It sounded yandere-ish to me so it's kind of disturbing that it's just mentioned casually. That's probably why I took longer to finish reading the book.

Hmm. Reading. I started two books recently. One is "Before We Say Goodbye". The other is a manga ("Bahang Kafe Cinta"). The manga is one of the 13 books I mentioned in this post. Unfortunately, I can't find the manga on Goodreads so I won't be able to add that to my read books later. It's not really a problem but I need to remember that because I might get confused when I compare my the data between Goodreads and LibraryThing...

The two books I'm hoping to finish reading this week are "Before We Say Goodbye" and "The Mill House Murders". Well, it still depends on my mood though lol

Oooh "Legend of Fei" huh... haven't been watching and Cdramas recently... Oh I am trying to catch up with the second season of "Avenue 5" though... Still love the comedy style! My kind of comedy really, I'm glad to see them again~

Five books-from-the-jar later, all I can say now is I'm feeling good with this way of choosing [unread, new] book to read next.

...urghh seriously though... I still can't return to using the jar(s). I can feel the reading slump standing guard in the back of my mind. It would be easy to switch to full-mode reading slump if I were to use the jar again.

Slept with the lights on last night. That's how bad the dream was yesterday.

I slept with the lights off last night lol... ah but I did have a dream that again looks like it belongs to me in a parallel universe. Nothing scary or thrilling. It's almost like a slice-of-life school shoujo manga.

I got my Watch Later playlist to under 10 recently and it has been staying that way for days. Love it when that happens.

*sigh* Haven't seen that for months already... it usually goes between 30 to 40 videos....

Something interesting I notice in both posts, I was reading books by the Strugatsky brothers at that time. In 2021, it was "The Doomed City". Last year's was "Roadside Picnic". I have another book of theirs that is unread... which I look forward to reading because I generally enjoy their stories, or rather, the way they tell the stories. I guess I'm a bit of a fan of theirs, as of now.

Oh wow another uni post... *sigh* I feel like I posted frequently in September in the past, probably because it's my birthday month.

I hate getting up late...

This makes me want to laugh bitterly... It hasn't been easy to wake up early nowadays. Hmm... I guess, in a way, I still feel that way..? Though it's not as intense as before, I would still feel guilty for waking up late. I guess 8am is the best time as compromise (to me, early is at 6am).

Wordpress, huh. I still go blog-surfing there sometimes... Although after two years, I still have no idea what to do with my blog there.

...but this post is giving me some ideas (while I was composing this), it could be my "On This Day" archive blog...? Of course, mainly for my own convenience. If it's that, I don't have to post new things after I post for each day. I just need to edit whenever I have new posts. Just like the LJ-like monthly archives I made in this blog, the posts will be a list of posts from this blog by day. I don't know yet if I want to include other blogs but that can easily be added when needed.

And since I'm not in a hurry, I can just do one post daily. At the same time, I can learn how to use the platform for blogging~

I hope to play "5x10" perfectly before September ends!

I want to say I'm better at playing this song on the piano now but I need to play it again (tomorrow?) to make sure. It's not perfect. Maybe like 70%?

2021 - "Lazy Friday"

Been having fun reading super leisurely at my own pace recently.

Famous last words?

I guess, in a way, it's still true today. The pace(?) has lessen due to [physical books] reading slump, but I'm still reading them... at the pace of 50 pages per day. Honestly though, that amount could still stresses me out sometimes. At the same time, I don't think stopping cold turkey (like completely no physical book reading) might not be good for future reading purposes. It's just that.. I want to maintain my current reading stamina or something.

*sigh* Been watching doramas/movies with survival/appreciate-your-life themes. I just suddenly felt like watching them. Hehe. I cried a lot watching "1 Litre of Tears".

Oof I don't think I can rewatch that dorama now... My eyes might suffer. (And I don't want to read sad stuff...)

Oh... but I'm interested in reading the book so I might check if Kino has it in stock.

Yeah, that is me doing the opposite of what I said again. The same person who doesn't like historical fiction but keep finding herself reading in the same genre. There's always that "What if I enjoy it" or "What if I like it" feeling that lingers when one makes such declaration(?). I guess that's why people say "Never say never".

Lately been thinking that being brave is more important than having confidence. I've always thought that confidence is just a façade. It doesn't help at all having confidence [alone] after you failed... to do something. Courage is better.

Honestly... I might have a vague idea why I wrote this... but I don't really remember what triggered it. *sigh*

It still sounds true to me today although I don't know why I'm itching to say something against it :P

Since the post title is 'I See "Red"'... hmmm I don't think I've gotten angry at something recently. Maybe only when I read fictional stories... I don't really remember real-life ones. I'm not counting the times when I got irritated though.

Today I had this random thought:
I want a large-sized set of playing cards.

Lol this thing... hmmm ridiculous thing I want to purchase but didn't on Shopee, huh.. recently, that would be an hourglass. Yup. Just thought of wanting it after seeing it in the background of a video on Youtube.

I don't really know how I manage to do it but... I've chosen which book to read today. I tried doing it by mood(?) although I don't think I'm in a certain mood or something... which was why it's a bit hard to choose. Having that "50 pages" daily goal will help to keep me in check, I guess. The amount is just right for someone who dread(?) reading physical books XD

I guess there's really not much to comment. Maybe just as an update? After two years, I've stop using the jar now because of my [physical book] reading slump.

Speaking of that... I don't know if this is really the case but I think the reading slump has bloomed(? transitioned?) into mood reading. Not sure if DNF will be a part of it though. I do like the idea of living up to the phrase "I read what I want".

Probably not going to be a 100% mood reader because weirdly, I'm like in this "Finish what I started" mode. Which doesn't really fit into the spirit of mood reading... oh well. Let's ponder on this for a while.

It's Thursday

Once in year 2021...

Really craving something easy to ~~digest~~ read lately. I've been somewhat impatient in my reading...adventure(?) these past few weeks so it made me think if the problems lie with me or the authors/books.

Ooooh that hurts... In comparison, now (or two years later), it's very manga-heavy with a mix of Japanese/fan-translated web novels...

I don't think it's a reading slump but it sure feels like it's going that way.

...it's a full-blown reading slump now! (Okay, at least for physical books)

I fully embrace it now... although that doesn't stop me from trying to overcome it, with low efforts, of course.

Went through my "Watch Later" playlist these past few days. Barely made any progress because I keep adding new videos lol.

A year later, same thing happened lol. Currently I have over 40 videos in that playlist *sigh*

The last part of the post talked about games playthrough on Youtube. Ahh... I haven't been playing Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer recently...

On this day, I posted twice in the past. One in 2021 and the other is last year's. Interestingly, both were about dreams...? Last year's could've been an OTD post...! Oh well. Unfortunately I don't have any interesting dreams recently...

Made quite a big progress last night with one of the physical books I'm reading but I'm not able to finish it before Sunday ends... It's fine, I guess. It feels easier to sit down and decide to just... read so maybe I'll be able to overcome my reading slump soon-ish? At least... one book at a time?

...I'm having so much fun reading "Charmed Life" again

Should I...? Probably shouldn't, since I'm in reading slump for physical books... (oh well)

Started playing ME3 multiplayer again. I should perhaps continue with my ME2 insanity playthrough but...

Not sure if I've mentioned it already before but I actually completed my weapon challenges few weeks ago. The last one was for SMG and it was so troublesome, never going to do that again! (I don't mind the other weapons though)

It feels bit weird seeing past-me mention that... My playing style has experienced changes since I started doing the challenges seriously. It's not a bad change but I'm kind of enjoying the game in another way...? Something like that.

And I've been playing more Silver matches lately. Just because it's hard to find Bronze ones... I hope I'll get used to Silver ones like Bronze's in the future~

No progress on ME2's insanity mode though... ooh maybe I can focus on that now that I've done most of the challenges...?

Last night, I had some dreams that felt like stories of my lives in another universe... I don't really remember much about it but there were some details that aren't true here but it feels realistic (like it happened!) in the dreams... yeah, I had some weird dreams last night.

...I probably read too many isekai manga/web novels XD

Speaking of isekai manga.... finished one today that was so dark and twisted, it appeals to my dark side greatly. Honestly, I feel dirty (stained?) for liking it lol. The title is "Akuyaku Reijou, Godome no Jinsei o Jaryuu to Ikiru." All I'm going to say it's a revenge manga :P and what a satisfying revenge that was. I had fun. The revenge parts (parts!) are S-tier. Don't read it if you don't want to be stained.

The Usual Friday Night

...is me playing ME3 Multiplayer lol

On this day... I posted once in 2021 ("The usual thing").

It's kind of amazing that I'm revisiting a post from two years ago. 2021 kind of still feels recent to me... wow.

Surprisingly (or maybe not?), I'm enjoying the new book I just added to my reading list. "Chronicles of KK".

Ah... good times. Fortunately my short stories experience with that book is good. Short story collections stress me out... If I'm reading another one I'll let it marinate for months, "Take all the time you need to read them," I'll remind myself... and jump around stories if necessary.

Latest episode of "The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent"... love it, love it, love it!

Oh no.. now I want to rewatch this anime again... it was so good...

Other than the mention of "SPY x FAMILY" (I need to continue watching the anime *sigh*)... nothing much to talk about here.. lol that post is really "the usual thing" XD... For this season's anime, I've only been following "My Home Hero", I haven't really started watching any of the latest anime. Oh yeah, I do want to watch "Oshi no Ko" though since it's related to some idol stuff.

Saw the last episode for Bofuri S2 yesterday... honestly, good riddance! So done with the story... I keep getting annoyed by the smallest, pettiest thing they do (-.- )
