Impatience

Posted in: 2023 posts | Knit/Crochet Stuff | No Mood | Spotify | Youtube

Too slow.

Some stuff on Youtube are still too slow today. Had to use that 2x speed option :P.

Haaah how do one deal with this impatience??? I feel like snapping at someone because I'm very irritable today. Haven't tried it yet but maybe knitting while going through my Watch Later playlist on Youtube will help? Interestingly, I'm okay with listening to music so I guess I'll spend more time with my Spotify playlists today.. I can also let the music play in the background while I watch some videos...

Knitting Thursday

Posted in: 2023 posts | Forty Winks and More | Interest: TV | Knit/Crochet Stuff | Our Water Woes

Woke up at 6.10am-ish. Which is not a bad time to wake up in the morning... but definitely not the time I planned to wake up (-.-). Three hours late.

It did feel like I had a good night sleep though...

⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰

Made progress on my knitting project (the third, grey haramaki). I think I should do my knitting while watching Alien & Predator movies... I'm watching them according to their release order... currently I'm in the middle of "Predator 2" (also finished "Predator" today) and this one has been underwhelming so far. I mean it's not that bad but it's so weird to see them acting vigilante-ish in the city XD

In the Far Future

Posted in: 2022 posts | Knit/Crochet Stuff | Youtube

Found a knitting project I want to try in the future! It's a knitted market bag (knitting pattern here)! Just randomly decided that today after seeing the video on Youtube XD

Felt kind of anxious because today felt like a Sunday. Barely made progress on "Easy Go". This is like last week all over again *sigh*.

...*gets distracted by window-shopping for yarns on Shopee*

Fun Saturday

Posted in: 2022 posts | Knit/Crochet Stuff | Reading

Fun day. Did some emergency knitting today. I hope it's usable until a proper one is purchased...

Yep. It was crazy. I've confirmed it.

You can never really know someone completely.

It's just another reminder on what you see outside might not be the same inside.

Even after knowing the truth in the end, I find it hard to sympathise with them. I mean, after seeing hundreds of pages of them doing (implied, because it's not really shown. You see bits of it from multiple PoVs) nasty things to other people... I just can't. It did help to make sense of their motives. At least that part of the mystery is solved. Kind of.

The ending is unfortunate but fitting...? Kind of feeling a bit unsatisfying but since this felt more like a crime fiction instead of mystery, I'll say it's unfortunate instead. Honestly, I don't know what I hope to happen to them. Somehow, deep inside, I kind of knew it will be that way. It was shown again and again from the beginning. That person always got their way.

Third

Posted in: 2022 posts | Knit/Crochet Stuff | Youtube

Been going through my Watch Later playlist again while knitting. Kept it under 10 (best!) and yes, I started a new knitting project!

Well, it's not exactly new... it's a familiar project. I'm just doing my 3rd haramaki lol... already have the yarns prepared last year so might as well go on with it. It will be like this one, but in grey.

Last week, my sister expressed her wish to learn crocheting so I've been learning along with her. We haven't done more than the basic stuff though. It's definitely a different kind of beast lol... [oh gosh those UK and US terms (>_<) *so confusing*]

Thursday Thoughts

Posted in: 2022 posts | Big Goal and Small Goal | I Need to be Distracted | Knit/Crochet Stuff | Lazy Day Musings | Online Shopping | Reading

Things I need to do... as soon as possible:
  • Drink more water
  • Catch up with my reading schedules
  • Catch up (:P) with my big and small goals this month. You would think that I can complete them easily because they don't sound hard... don't ever underestimate a seasoned procrastinator XD.. I probably will just do them a week before the month ends
  • Restart my knitted blanket *sigh* (Had to unravel everything last night. I don't really... want to think about that for at least a couple of days...)
⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰

Purchased something on Book Depository yesterday. It will take a long time to arrive here in Sabah... and I hope it will be here in good condition. It's something I usually wouldn't want to read but I saw some of them posted on Tumblr before... and I kind of liked them. I really wanted to read them last month.. and early this month. Like I was really in the mood for that.

❤❤❤

Posted in: 2022 posts | Knit/Crochet Stuff | Reading

Decided to just... try knitting that blanket today. I don't have enough yarns specifically for the blanket but I'm still doing it. My hands are itching for some knitting action (lol) while I watch stuff on TV/computer. Have I mentioned how knitting can be addictive?

⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰

Finished reading "Green Island". Engaging book... I'm vaguely aware of that part of history but reading about it in this book was quite depressing. "Why do people do that in the past?" Most part of the book was melancholic and had that hopeless feeling to it... but it's not emotionally heavy (IMO). Did cry once or twice (mostly parts with Baba that I find heartbreaking).

Starting two new books today (besides yesterday's book from the jar):
  1. House of Many Ways - still going through that not-rigid reading list of mine~ Maybe a book a month?
  2. All the Feels - finally going to read this! No, it has nothing to do with today! XD I was waiting for my currently-reading books to clear (a bit) before I start this.

Not Bothered

Posted in: 2022 posts | Knit/Crochet Stuff | Piano

Funny thing happened yester- no, it's not yesterday.. it's actually early morning (1-2am). I suddenly realised I forgot something. I forgot to do my daily piano practice yesterday!

It bothers me but I won't let it bother me too long.

I'll just call yesterday a rest day for my daily piano project. I should have a rest day every month, it's not good to not have a rest day. Sometimes, some time away makes the next practice session better. Yes, you can choose to be rigid and do the extreme.. but just because you can, doesn't mean you should do it. [Recently, saw this phrase several times in the comments section in different subreddits so I'll take that as a sign lol]

⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰

Saw a knitting pattern for blanket that I'm interested in but... nothing is set yet. I'm just going to bookmark that page for now.

So Bright

Posted in: 2022 posts | Knit/Crochet Stuff | On This Day | Reading

I feel like Chrome is getting laggy again so last night I decided to stop using the black theme (*sad*). Now it's back to the default theme, it's so bright~

So is it faster now? Hmmmm... maybe just a little bit?

I might have to test with disabling the AdBlock later (the horror!). Don't really want to do that though.

⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰

I have two posts from the past that were posted on January 20th~

The oldest one is 2010's, "Stop Reading."

Can you get tired of reading?

Is that... me getting into a reading slump?

That's actually a scary feeling. I think I still get that now... so I just usually don't read and do something else (before I think too much about it).

I feel tired just by reading more words, sentences and paragraphs. All those words and the information they contained suddenly annoy me so much.
Interestingly, I feel like this for some videos on Youtube. I immediately stopped watching and... left them unfinished. Suddenly, I find their voice irritating and I don't want to listen anymore.

Luckily I’m not tired of watching word-less things (moving pictures, haha) and musical notes.
Ah. Now, this depends on what I'm watching... I get so easily bored and distracted :(

The newest post is last year's, "That Yellow Thing".

I don't know why.. maybe I like the design or something but I want it. Maybe a knitted cardigan version of it?
Oh gosh, that yellow jacket/coat thing! Haven't found any patterns that similar to that... speaking of knitting, haven't done any knitting recently. I haven't decided on what to knit. If possible, I want something that's practical - something that will be used. Did think about making a blanket but I haven't even look for a pattern that I would like.

2021 is...

Posted in: # Mass Effect | 2021 posts | Anime | Knit/Crochet Stuff | Learning French Language | Learning German Language | Learning Russian Language | Reading | Reading Challenge

This post is the final post for this year.

I made it! I've updated this blog daily for the whole year! 372(!) posts in 365 days.
You can see the list of posts with links here.

Since this is a personal blog, my posts were mostly diary/journal-like though. I had fun doing it.

PAST
Let's see... what happened this year...
♛ I started reading books regularly again!
I do have some minor slump-like moments at times but it happened... and it's happening!
  • Reading Challenges
I have an ambitious aim - to read all the new/unread books in my bookshelf. That also prompted the birth of Pick-A-New-Book Jar and some other reading challenges. So far, I've picked 18 books from that jar and already finished reading 13 of them. Only managed to read two books from my not-rigid list (but no matter! They will be brought to next year :P)
  • Those Read Unread Books
    Finally read:
-- "The Hunger Games" and its sequels.
-- "Mansfield Park" by Jane Austen which I [surprisingly] liked.
    Finally finished reading:
    -- "情定愛琴海" (reread)
    -- "The Star-Touched Queen"
-- "Commemorative History of Sabah 1881-1981" (that non-fiction book)
    -- "Good Omens"...which honestly, I don't really enjoy reading.
  • Oh New Books!
Got a lot of those this year. But it makes it easy to refer back when I had posted about their arrival so I liked that. Oh yeah, I also found some rare Chinese novels: 還珠格格's Part 1 and Part 2, with covers that I wished to own.
♛ I knitted that haramaki
Last year, I wanted to learn to knit because of this haramaki pattern. After practising on other projects, I finally started knitting that haramaki and finished it months later. Haven't started any new knitting project as of now though.

♛ I got vaccinated for COVID-19
I posted about having trust issues in August. I want to avoid crowded places as much as possible so I never applied (registered?) to get vaccinated via the MySejahtera app. Fortunately in September, my father found a clinic where I can get the vaccination with peace of mind. *sigh* I don't know what I'll do with the booster one later... probably will be assigned to a place near home. Will there be a crowd? Probably.

♛ I started learning new languages
...Still in very, very early stages though XD. I'm re-learning French from scratch. I'm also learning how to write and read Cyrillic. Oh.. and I'm learning a bit of German (this looks scary at first but I discovered how fun it can be). I don't have a strict plan regarding this, I'm just going to learn according to my mood and pace.

PRESENT
I guess this is referring to me, today. Lol... All I think of now is I just want to finish watching all three seasons of "Fruits Basket".

FUTURE
Daily Blogging
I'm thinking of doing it since I managed to do it for this year. There are so many other ways you can make a post... and I haven't fully explore that haha. But hmmm... let me think more about it.

Piano
This is one of the things that I've thought early on that I must include in my 2022 goals(?). I want to play the piano daily (at least an hour). I seriously need the practice. (Daily blogging on my music blog? I wish!)

Weirdly though, since I started knitting, my hands feel somewhat more comfortable on the piano keys. It's like knitting helps the finger muscles develop or something.

Knitting... or crocheting
Since it helps with playing the piano, I'm thinking of knitting something.. maybe a blanket for next year. I don't know yet, really. I can also focus on wearables like hats (or beanies?) and socks (do I dare?).. Or just learn how to crochet.

Mass Effect 2
Kept repeating it here but I should really, finally, go finish that insanity playthrough...

Learning Languages
It's just a continuation from this year, I guess. Will I finally learn Italian by the end of 2022? :P [Notice anything?]

⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰
Less than an hour before 12am. I guess now is the right time to say goodbye to 2021 before I publish this post.

Goodbye, 2021~

Imaginary Questions (2021 version)

Posted in: 2021 posts | Dorama | Interest: Games | Interest: TV | Knit/Crochet Stuff | My Fangirl Side | On This Day | Youtube

Started knitting again yesterday. Wow, I missed knitting while watching stuff on TV/Youtube! Surprisingly, I can still focus on what I watch while I knit. As long as I'm not knitting something complicated... I think. My sister wanted  more of the knitted scrunchies I did for her (very simple pattern). I like the idea of keeping my hands busy knitting while catching up with the latest episodes (there are a lot of shows I left unfinished *sigh*)

⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰

I just realised 8TV is showing "The Romance of Tiger and Rose" in the 6pm slot. Didn't finish that one last year. Maybe I'll watch it casually. Because it's quite interesting. Loved the theme song.

⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰

On this day, I posted once on the same day and month in 2009. Ah. The year I did NaBloPoMo XD

It's a post about imaginary questions...? I think it was meant to be something like an F.A.Q corner or similar. Okay. Might be interesting to answer those questions again today, twelve years later.

The questions (and excerpts of my 2009 answers):
-Should I use my full name in Twitter?
Will consider this again later.
-Should I read Twilight and the rest of the series?
Sometimes when it comes to reading books… I tend to avoid the popular/bestseller ones
-Why do you not include your personal photos in your blog? Your photo on Twitter is too small, is that really you?
I choose privacy!
-What about the photos in this post?
Oh, that. That was from over 10 years ago! No one will recognise me!
-Why are you not on facebook?
I tend to avoid things that are popular.
-Then what’s the deal with Jonas Brothers and Twitter? They’re popular too!
I guess when I decide which is popular and need to be avoided, I also have an exception list to consider.

The random ones are making me laugh and embarrassed now :P
-No. Not going to to use my full name. No need to consider again.
-Ooh. Twilight, huh. At this moment, I don't really want to read the series...? Maybe the first book only if I really (really, really) have to. But hmmm not interested...
-LOOOL my twitter photo haven't changed in over a decade OMG
-Lol I think I've posted some photos of Chibi-me since then XD.. well you still can't recognise me I guess.
-Still not on Facebook. I have an Instagram account though (but private and not active XD). I think it's troublesome to maintain them.
-Yep. There will always be exceptions XD (but I still mainly avoid the popular ones)

Hmmm I'll edit this post later if I can think of more questions to add...

Added on 2021-12-01
Why do you keep buying books? Will you even read them?
I keep books that I like to call "Just in case" books.. Not exactly TBR books. Also, most of the books were purchased on Bookxcess and BBW (super cheap because they're [mostly] remaindered books).. if you want books from there, you have to act fast because they might not be in stock anymore in the future.

Definitely going to read them... slowly. I have an ambitious aim regarding that.

Are you still a fan of Arashi?
I am. I call myself more of a backseat fan (I still don't know what that means but that's what came to mind when I'm asked this question) now. I'm just not... as active as before. Like, I don't think I even have that stamina to keep up anymore. I listen to their songs regularly because I love them!

They're on Spotify! My all-time favourite song of theirs is "truth". My favourite Ohno Satoshi [my ichiban hehe] solo song is "Song for me". Current songs that are on repeat this year: "Miles Away" & "Bang Bang"...
*fangirling mode* Lol.. Like I said, I'm still a fan.

Not taking any recommendations for artists similar to them!

Are you still on Twitter?
My twitter account is still up. And public. I do miss tweeting though. I used to be that kind of person who will tweet "Good Morning" (sometimes lol) on Twitter. I don't know.. not really in the mood to do that now. I used to complain about work before I started tweeting less... I do have an alter-ego account for my erm.. otome/dating sim games adventures (lol). Which I also don't update that frequently anymore. Speaking of otome games, I think these games has ruined romance books for me (it's so funny it's like that because usually people will say real life relationships :P).

Are you single or married?
My imaginary questions are roasting me jk Well, erm, I don't know who needs to know this (probably no one hahaha) but I'll answer it anyway. I am single. Most of my close friends are married, so no pressure *smiles awkwardly*. For some reason, one of my ex-colleagues believed I have a boyfriend (back in 2017) and they didn't believe me when I said I don't (okay, another was convinced I'm Chinese - I'm not. We just have serious trust [& stereotyping?] issues at work XD). Never been in a relationship. Did have a mild "crush" *pfft* on someone in the past 5 years but fortunately it didn't go the serious way because that man was engaged (and now married).

I'm convinced no one could stand being with me & my eccentric personality (it's a fair observation made by me) and... it's okay. Getting to know someone is hard and troublesome.

Happy Sunday ♡

Posted in: # My Fair Princess | 2021 posts | blog images | Happy Sunday | Knit/Crochet Stuff | My Fangirl Side | Pick-A-New-Book Jar | Qiong Yao 瓊瑤 | Reading | 蘇有朋

Having a super great morning~

Slept early last night but woke up 3 hours later... nothing new there.

What makes it great is... I have finished knitting 2nd haramaki!!! This was what got me into learning how to knit for real last year. Found this particular pattern at that time and started wishing to have one.

Feeling very accomplished :)

But this isn't mine though (Mine is to be in grey colour *coming soon*). Made this for my mother.

It looks like a skirt and it's hefty! Might be too warm for the weather here haha... But I believe it's still usable during cold weather or in cold rooms.

I don't know if I want to start my grey haramaki soon after this. Hmmm should I go and learn how to crochet now?... since I reached this milestone already. Honestly, haven't thought of what to knit next (other than the grey haramaki).

And again, we have three photos with different lighting...

If I remember correctly, at least half of this was knitted when I watched "My Fair Princess" on dimsum. Since the platform is going away this month, I've been binge-watching MFP from the first season. Currently, I'm watching the second season together with the third season. The advantages of knowing how it ends really help here XD. Probably part of the reason I haven't finished reading those two books is because I was (am) busy watching this lol

⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰

Back to the main event hohoho

I think I won't even get mad if I pull a thick or difficult book today (probably). I feel so happy today.

*picks from jar*
.
.
.
"The Gambler".

OMG (secretly relieved)

My second book by Fyodor Dostoevsky. Honestly, I didn't really like "Crime and Punishment". But I read that in 2014 so I probably should try rereading it in the [very] far future to see if I have a change of heart. I don't remember much other than thinking the main character whiny or something. Don't know how I'll fare with this... At least I'm glad that it's not as long as "Crime and Punishment".

Just Thoughts

Posted in: 2021 posts | Interest: TV | Knit/Crochet Stuff | Reading

Feeling extra lazy today. Don't feel like reading...

I probably overdid my knitting last night because I'm feeling very mild thumb pain and I'm pretty sure knitting is the cause this time.

Don't really care about "Palace" anymore. Didn't pay much attention to today's episode. 8TV started showing "Al Cappuccino" since last week. This was the 7pm drama I mentioned in a previous post. Thought I missed much due to the blackout but it doesn't seem to be that case. Wasn't really interested in watching when I saw the coming-soon ad but I watched the first episode anyway. Now I look forward to watching this more than "Palace" :P. Let's see how long I'll last.

Lately, I've been on-&-off googling for reading journals because I find it quite helpful to keep one. But I'm still just thinking about it now. Most probably will not end up doing it because I know I can't keep up with maintaining one (I can't even keep up with my physical diaries lol).

A Fairly Cool Day

Posted in: 2021 posts | I Need to be Distracted | Knit/Crochet Stuff | Pick-A-New-Book Jar | Reading

There was a blackout last night. It was almost 8pm because I was watching a 7pm drama which was about to end. Interestingly, my mother and I heard some kind of small explosion (like punctured tyre loud) before it went black. Still don't know what that was... probably will see it in the news anyway if it's a big deal.

Thanks to that, I finished reading Crichton's "Drug of Choice" in the dark, with the help of power bank-powered table lamp.

And... since I finished by Saturday, I will give myself permission to pick a book out of the jar early. Because what if I pick a thick book huhuhuhuhu.... Also, I don't want to procrastinate picking like last week. It will still be a Sunday thing but I can pick a book on Saturdays if I get to finish reading the book early. Why am I desperate to justify myself lol.. I just want to be lenient to myself but still do it within certain restrictions.

I've waited until the time to compose this post to do it.

*picks from jar*

...I got Penelope Fitzgerald's "At Freddie's"!

O-kay. This is one of the books from my risky batch. Interesting. Glad that it's not a 2019 book (for what, I don't know lol). And it's 200+ pages. I can start this tomorrow.

⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰

Made major progress in 2nd haramaki. Finally going to move on to the 1x1 rib part. I'm excited. But my arms, neck and back are in pain...

A Little Time for Yuwen Yue

Posted in: 2021 posts | blog images | Knit/Crochet Stuff | My Fangirl Side

Saw the JTTW movie with Lin Gengxin in it and... I don't... like it? It's not like I have a preference (and I surely don't watch much of the other adaptations) but seeing the monk act that way makes me a bit uncomfortable (my first impression, before reading more about who portrayed him *I totally didn't know who that was at first*). But I never really liked the Stephen Chow's version (but I can still watch it) either so this isn't really a surprise.

Decided to watch a bit of "Princess Agents" to like... clean my palate or something.

Yuwen Yue ❤
⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰

Ooh what is this going to be...? XD

While I did mention not wanting to start another knitting project before I finish 2nd haramaki, I... still did it anyway. Maybe what I had in mind was big knitting projects. I seem to not mind doing side knitting projects that take lesser time to complete.

Hello Monday~

Posted in: 2021 posts | Knit/Crochet Stuff | Reading

Slowly getting back to my "currently reading" physical books... Already missing the Leftover Princess series. Probably will want to read it again from the beginning...? Which I think is crazy but I'm considering it.

Continued knitting my 2nd haramaki today and had to stop before I overdo it (I'm feeling some pain in my hands). In the end, I switched back to my long DPNs because it got, well, too crowded on the circular needle. It got hard to slip it back and forth because of the denseness. Which might be why I left it untouched for months. Surprisingly, it's easier to knit using DPNs (okay still need strength but...). I just have to worry again about it getting off the needles *sigh*. I'm determined to finish it before starting another knitting project.

Leftover Princess

Posted in: 2021 posts | Jane Austen | Knit/Crochet Stuff | Reading

Watched the latest movie adaptation of Emma last night while knitting another one of this. I enjoyed it. Still don't like the character Emma but yeah, I liked the movie. I haven't watch any other adaptations (except Clueless) so I don't know how it compares to the others. The falling in love scene happened so instantly but I'm okay with that.

Now I'm more excited to reread it!

⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰

I've decided to get back into the world of "Okobore Hime to Entaku no Kishi" (thank you internet and kind person who translates) and arggh... now I want to get the novels again *sigh*. I love, love, love the main character so much. I really wish this series gets translated into English because the world needs to know about the leftover princess and her knights.

Things I'll do for these series:
  • Buy the books (light novels). And the manga version later.
  • Read spoilers. Yes, you read that correctly. I'm desperate to know what happened in the end so I did check some Japanese blogs but I couldn't make sense of it because I don't have any context of what's happening lol (I just want to know if she ends up with Duke really)
  • Attempt-read the books if I ever managed to buy them. Again, I'm desperate to know the ending.

Too Many

Posted in: 2021 posts | Anime | Knit/Crochet Stuff

Rainy Tuesday.

Haven't read anything today. Made a little progress on 2nd haramaki. Also, received my 80cm & 100cm wooden (or bamboo?) circular needles set today. My cheapskate mind easily decided to get this (it's a tenth of the price of interchangeable circular needles set - easy, right?). The 2nd haramaki kept getting off the knitting needles (long DPNs) so I have to get it. Now I have too many knitting needles. Sigh.

Saw the latest episode of "The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent" and honestly, I'm not a fan of it. It's an Aira episode (-.-). Totally don't care about the character. Now I understand how Kumoko fans feel watching the human characters arc.

What What What What

Posted in: # Mass Effect | 2021 posts | Books | Interest: Games | Knit/Crochet Stuff | Need to Get This Out of My Chest | Online Shopping | Reading

If you ask me how to describe today, I'll say it's a slow day. 'Slow' is the word that came to mind although it's not really that slow... hmm.

What I did today:
- Knitted. Started knitting another headband.
- Purchased books on Carousell. There's still the possibility that the seller might not accept the deal but yeah I did that.

What I haven't done but will do after this post:
- Read. Kind of scared I'll abandon those thick books halfway. Maybe I can focus more on "Fire and Hemlock" first so that I can finish that faster? As of now, I'm reading one chapter at one time before moving to the other books.
- Buy something on Shopee XD (I'm waiting for that timed voucher thing).
- Play mobile games.
- Watch PockySweets' latest playthrough for Resident Evil Village.

What I might do later if I'm in the mood:
- Play Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer.
- Read blogs.

What I want to mention randomly (lol):
Some ebooks on Amazon and Google Play Store are free. For Amazon, you can still read with the Kindle app even if you don't have a Kindle (but I kinda want one though in the future). On Play Store, I always see what are in the "Top Free".. There are also audiobooks. Most of the books are of the romance and SF kinds so yeah not much to choose from really if you're not fan of those genres.. there's also classic ones.

11 years later...

Posted in: 2021 posts | Knit/Crochet Stuff | On This Day | Piano | Piano Exam

On this day, I posted once in 2010: "Nervous Butterflies"

Okay... oh. Piano exam stuff. I don't know which one was that but...

I was supposed to take ABRSM G8 last year (or this year) but after my teacher stopped teaching me (end 2018-2019), I sort of... don't think about it [for] now. I had a disastrous G7 exam experience (I did so badly) but I [actually] ended up barely passing the practical exam. To this day, I haven't opened the result envelope. I was pretty sure I failed. I only knew I passed when I was asked to retrieve my certificate.

Gloomy stuff aside...

I'm not there yet. That level... where you can play what you just listened (or is listening!).... it's out of my league. I can't even memorize well... I will always need music sheets. Sigh. I think it's nice to be good at playing by ears. & also... songwriting. Haha. I'm tempted to tell my teacher : "Let's compose a song."

11 years later, I can say that I'm kind of still at that same level... but I believe that I've matured at some parts. I actually can do it if I put more efforts into it. I can learn stuff by myself and by my own pace.

"Then, why don't you do it?"

Unfortunately, I have multiple interests and hobbies :D and I move between them according to my mood(s) at that time. I'm a super easily distracted person with fear of getting bored of things... I don't do well with commitments :P. This reminds me of the books I've been reading this year - the theme jumps around so randomly. I just pick out any books I want to read at that moment.

★★★★★
I finished knitting this headband yesterday! Managed to take photos before giving it to my sister. I'm probably going to spend my time doing headbands and maybe (BIG maybe) try knitting a beanie while I wait for 2nd haramaki's extra yarns.

This shouldn't take a month (probably a few days if I do like 4 repeats of the pattern everyday).. but I can't stand doing the repeats lol. Now that I pretty much has memorised it I can just knit it while watching stuff on Youtube.
