Online Shopping Bag
Woke up early today because I received a call from the DHL deliveryman.
Which is a good thing... because we keep getting rain in the afternoon. If you want to do something outside (in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah at least), do it in the morning.
Virginia Woolf's "Orlando"・Ursula K. Le Guin's "Tales from Earthsea"・Penelope Fitzgerald's "Human Voices" & "At Freddie's" |
So these arrived today. These are what I like to call the risky batch XD
I was lurking window-shopping on Bookxcess as usual a couple weeks ago and realised they have "Tales from Earthsea". Since I have Book 1-4 and 6, I decided to get it. Even though I haven't started reading the series yet.
Also decided to get another Virginia Woolf book... and you guessed it, I did that even though I haven't read her other books.
Penelope Fitzgerald's books are included because BBC's "The Big Read" listed her as one of the writers that's like Jane Austen. Saw these two books on Bookxcess. And...here they are. But... I've seen Georgette Heyer (also listed with Fitzgerald in "The Big Read") being recommended for Austen fans (for years) and I didn't quite enjoy what I read early this month (this book). Maybe I'll have more luck with her romance books but.. hmmm.. will think twice before reading another of her books.
LibraryThing also have something like that and it's interesting to note that it only listed the other Fitzgerald...
So why a risky batch? Because I might not like them when/after I read them...?
But isn't that how it is usually when we shop for books in physical shops?
