WuWa Talk: The List

We'll start this post with something random I want to list out...

Reasons I convene:

Male resonators :P
They buff resonators (usually male) I like including [my dear] Rover ♥
Healers and/or shield providers
Havoc - Honestly? This is somewhat related to Rover's attributes... so there are a bit of Spectro and Aero biases too lol
I like their gameplay
I like the resonator after playing stories that feature them
Weirdly, I have a soft spot for resonators that use swords or guns... most probably because I mainly used them in Skyrim (erm... bows). Well... it's guns galore in Mass Effect (personal favourite is the Black Widow, yes, I'm the sniper type) :P
Not exactly a must, but I usually want to get resonators of sentinels
Not always, but sometimes because of the seiyuu or voice actors/actresses

Of course, I'm a perfectionist so I wish I could get everyone for my main account but that's not plausible XD. I have alternate accounts that will pull for those I can't get in my main account so I kind of get that covered (I guess)...

Convene

I finally got Phrolova (well, guaranteed)... for my Heavy ATK resonators XD~

Got her to Level 90 and all skills maxed out on Day 1—I was so prepared I even had her echoes all ready to go. Used her in the current ToA's middle tower straight away and finally got full 36/36 crests for the latest ToA. I was hoping she would help in the last two floors and I wasn't left disappointed. I do wish to get her signature weapon but with my recent red numbers record, I probably shouldn't expect much. She's stuck with Augment (at least it's R5) for now. I do have Stringmaster but I'm not really a fan of sharing weapons so I guess that can be an emergency option later on (Yes, I still use Yinlin sometimes)... Augment seems to work just fine for her.

Oh yeah, losing 50/50 doesn't hurt that much when it happens early (T_T)

Fortunately, along the way, I managed to get Buling (only one copy though)... I only got her boss ascension materials ready so for now I can only get her to Level 90... Honestly, I was half-half on whether I could get her because for some reason, whenever you're aiming for 4-stars, it will be very hard to get. I did some pulls in my alternate accounts but none have gotten Buling yet.

I also pulled for Phrolova on my speedrun-husbando account because why not? I have Qiuyuan S1 there. Got pretty lucky in getting her signature weapon early... so it's back to hoarding astrites for Luuk XD

3.0 Preview Livestream

I'm low-key excited for the new area! It's very sci-fi themed and it makes the Mass Effect fan in me happy. One of the quest (exploration, I think?) also sounds like it's inspired by Death Stranding (haven't played it yet but I've seen other people's playthroughs).

Hmmm... It's worrying that Iuno is one of the rerun banners but I'm going to pull for Lynae first. Then her signature weapon, if possible. Lynae's JP seiyuu is Inoue Marina (she voiced Kyoko in Skip Beat! anime) so that made me more motivated XD. I always forget that she's in PGR (Vera) too lol. Gosh... dare I hope that they'll get Konishi Katsuyuki too in the future?

I do have interest in Mornye but I've decided that I'll try getting her next time. Might have to skip Iuno if Luuk is coming in 3.1...

WuWa Talk: Black Shores

This might take a while.

Shorekeeper

I wasn't keen on getting Shorekeeper but I heard she gives buff to Rover (you must understand, I love my Rover so much! Anything for her!) during the livestream so I thought I might as well try. I'd been trying to get Aalto during Xiangli Yao's banner so I know I'm pretty close to getting a 5-star character. I was also very ready to get another copy of Verina.

The results...

I finally got my last copy of Aalto! LOL (also got Yangyang's last copy after him)

I... didn't get Verina. I got Shorekeeper... It kind of shocked me lol

71st pull btw

I'm in no hurry to build her but I'm slowly getting all her materials (the troublesome ones). Oh yeah, I reached UL70 recently and I think now I'm getting 4-5 ascension materials...? Not much but still very helpful! I can get enough for one character in a week. I'm only limited by the weekly bosses materials *sigh*...

My RuRu account also managed to get her. I did intend for this account to pull for her because she doesn't have Verina. I've been using Baizhi (maxed out copies) on my Fenn account and honestly I'm not really liking her gameplay... (maybe I just need to upgrade her skills more and get better echoes for her...)

Black Shores

I'm so excited about the new map! I want to know more about them and their members (and NOT only about the Shorekeeper). I'm guessing we'll get that in the next patch? I'm also happy to meet Aalto again :)

Oh yeah, it's probably only me but Black Shores is giving me Mass Effect vibes for some reason lol... there's this one side quest where it's making me recall one of the Mass Effect DLCs (and a few quests) I've played and honestly I was a bit scared if it has any consequences in the future. Probably not... since it's a very short quest but oof. I guess it's bringing out "war" flashbacks from Mass Effect :P

Shorekeeper's story is... fine, I guess. I did shed some tears (but that might be the hormones at work lol). I like it fine. Nothing more, nothing less. Although since I'm playing as the female Rover (where it feels more like sisterly love, in my opinion), it doesn't feel much like it but it probably will feel fanservicy as a male Rover... judging from the posts I saw on Reddit *sigh*.

Also... I finished defeating all the red enemies pretty fast this time around. I guess I've grown :P

I think the Tambourine Duo were the most troublesome ones that I had to switch Yao out with Aalto for some ranged weapon help. The second most troublesome is the Cyclone Swarm, since they can heal each other up. This one gets easier when you fight them separately (get the one you're fighting out of the healing range). Interestingly on Reddit, they give tips on how to keep them as a group (to attack them in one go, I guess? Only one gave similar tip to mine) I was left with two of them in my first try and while I was diligently fighting one of them, the other just keep healing the one I'm fighting... making my attacks mean nothing, which is annoying... so I think it's better to fight them separately. The other three just need a healthy amount of dodging XD (I especially hate the Hedgepuff because getting caught into the bubble sometimes insta-kill me *sigh*)

I could manage better now probably due to having stronger resonators. I think the most traumatic(?) red enemy I faced (so far) will forever be the Level 120 Lightcrusher. Oof.. even now I can't get used to Lightcrusher's attacks and would always dodge/attack at the wrong time.

Tactical Hologram - Inferno Rider

I can't wait to get this trophy through this lol
[Edit 2024-12-02: Oof just realised that this isn't doable with the hologram version. Illusive Realm then, huh. *sigh*]

And I had a look at my record and realised the time I took to defeat Inferno Rider is the same with Crownless (for Difficulty 1 and 2) which I find interesting...

Lol forgot to convert my Rover back to Havoc for Difficulty 1 (I was upgrading her skills), fortunately I still survived through the fight with Inferno Rider XD (It's only Level 60 anyway)...

A Feb 29th Post

It's pure coincidence but I love the fact that this post was published at 11.29pm :P

This post HAS to be made today because apparently I never posted on this day in the past! I'm also going to give it the "1st post" label because in my opinion, it is one~!

I don't really have much to blog about today though XD

Oh! I guess I can talk about the books I've finished reading recently.

Finished "Leviathan Wakes" on Feb 27th~~~ Earlier than scheduled (I planned for it to be the whole month XD). I like it! It scratched that Mass Effect itch LOL... No wonder it's recommended for Mass Effect fans. Loved the writing style too! Honestly, I was wary of two-writer team (it's not like I've read a lot of them, but I really isn't impressed with the ones I did. There are only a few of them that I like and am okay with)... and I actually didn't know this was one :P so that made it even better after finding it out.

Also, just finished "Death Notice" like 20+ minutes ago (a few minutes after 11pm). Oooh I quite enjoyed the book... dunno why it somehow reminds me of "Maou" by the end. Only this time, you're mostly on the police's side. Honestly though, I'm more interested in Captain Pei's being the Sherlock (there aren't much but you see a bit of it here and there) than Eumenides' identity. Maybe I'll see more in the sequel?

I'm reading (re-reading, kind of) the 9th Volume of "The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent" light novel next. I think I have my fill of books with so many deaths this month~

Reading Schedule Generator! There was a period that I didn't use it... then when I got lazy about printing it, I just wrote the schedule down somewhere XD. I think the last time I was using it was to help with avoiding reading slumps (lol) until I started using the ReadMore app again. The app has its own reading schedule feature so I guess that means I still use one? XD

I don't use it for every book I read but currently I do use one for "Leviathan Wakes"....

Anime

--- Still kind of in a watching slump, but I'm trying to watch a few of them (the ones I've read before)... it's a slow progress *sigh*

Games

--- I've been watching some of John Wolfe's playthrough on his JohnTwolfe channel... I enjoyed watching his Dredge playthroughs! I think that kind of got me back to wanting to read some H. P. Lovecraft stories (Thanks, John! Although I haven't started reading it... XD). He just started playing Stray so I'm excited to follow that one next! He's also playing Lethal Company with his friends & it was fun chaos :P

--- I am still interested in doing a Mass Effect Weekend thing but I need to think more about how I'm doing it.

"What's the point of cleaning if it just gets messy again?"

--- Yep.

Spotify

--- Currently I'm obsessed with this one track from Strawberry Night movie OST

Spam

--- I'm noticing a weird thing in this blog's stats page (I think I'm getting some of those spam clicks?). If it gets out of hand I might make this blog private for a while.

Reading

--- Reading is... sufficient(?) at this moment. I'm reading just enough. "Leviathan Wakes" is surprisingly a comfortable read so far (considering the stuff happening in the story), I'm enjoying it so far! I'm also reading "Death Notice" and I like the mystery~

--- Recently, I've been reading "For My Derelict Favorite" (Thus, post title = Female lead's name). It started from the manhwa and now to the fan-translated web novel. I seriously need to know how it ends! The antagonist is a good [quality] villain. She's not exactly the cockroach kind (I thought of using praying mantis b*tch, since she's a saintess but maybe not... since FL called her queen bee... so... Queen Bee B*tch??) I love how FL uses QBB own beliefs against the Queen B*tch herself (wait, am I missing a word? :P). I can't wait to read more!!!

Can't really say that it's better today but I guess it's a bit hopeful...?

Been playing a lot of [& only] Silver matches recently (I think I'm getting used to it!) on Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer and today I suddenly got dropped into a Gold(!) match. It actually went well! It felt a bit harder than Silver's but still quite manageable... I'm fully aware, of course, this can only happen if we have a full 4-player team, and everyone knows what they're doing.

I've made some nice progress with reading "Jane in Love"... really loved Jane [Austen] as a character here. Didn't really vibe with the other female main character until later. I'll probably finish it tonight or tomorrow. Kind of expecting a bittersweet ending (if we're following the true history) but I might be wrong (hopefully).

Forgot to mention this yesterday: Couple days ago, I got dropped into a gold match (that I thought was silver) but we survived until extraction. It's funny how I didn't think about it until few waves later when I realised there were too many Banshees XD

Made some progress to some books I'm currently reading. I consider that a win because today I couldn't stay focused for so long. I kept feeling the need to do something else while in the middle of something, even though I'm not sure what that something else is... It's almost like I'm restless or something similar to that.

N7 Day

N7 Day.

Oooh I never really celebrated the day on this blog. Should I start doing that??

Anyway.. I guess I'll talk a bit about my experience with the Mass Effect game series:

Randomly stumbled upon a Mass Effect Confessions blog on Tumblr today. Saw one mentioned about the next Mass Effect game and I realised I also can't buy it on discount in the future... oof. I guess it's still possible if it's available on Steam but I don't really wanna link my EA account there because I heard the horror stories... (though maybe there'll be less problems in the future?)
I started playing from Mass Effect 2 → Mass Effect 1 → Mass Effect 3 → Mass Effect Andromeda. I went into ME2 without knowing anything about the whole series. I really liked that I can choose to be FemShep. Until now, I haven't played the other Shepard (but I do have plans in the future). Haven't tried romancing other characters (only Garrus ♥♥♥) but I might go for Thane in my ME2 insanity playthrough.
Fell in love with Garrus at first voice. Like, seriously, it's the voice that got me. I think it was a great coincidence that I started from ME2 because you can't romance him in the first one...
I kept mentioning it in this blog but I have yet made any progress with my ME2's insanity playthrough. I probably will pick a day to do it every week (I did mention about doing a weekly blog post about it but I'm not sure if I'll be motivated enough to do that lol).
I have the four novels based on Mass Effect in my bookshelf but so far I have only read one #oops. Got really lucky in finding them all on Carousell from a seller that sells Sci-Fi books.
Also got really lucky with finding a preloved version of the art book for half the retail price last year. Didn't even care that the shipping fee was over RM20 (the book IS huge and heavy XD).
I guess I'll end this day by playing the ME3 multiplayer :P

Familiar Voice

I was in the middle of watching another ZTD playthrough when I realised how familiar the voice of one of the characters. He voiced Legion in Mass Effect game series... and apparently he's also Callego/Kalego's English dub voice... knowing that today kind of made my day lol

Kind of organised a bit the towers of books I kept procrastinating to do and now they are half their original heights. I returned books I already read (and some unread) to the bookshelf. Got reminded again how I'm out of bookshelf space... ~~ahhh I don't want to think about it anymore~~

It's Thursday

On this day... I posted twice in the past.

Once in year 2021...

Really craving something easy to ~~digest~~ read lately. I've been somewhat impatient in my reading...adventure(?) these past few weeks so it made me think if the problems lie with me or the authors/books.

Ooooh that hurts... In comparison, now (or two years later), it's very manga-heavy with a mix of Japanese/fan-translated web novels...

I don't think it's a reading slump but it sure feels like it's going that way.

...it's a full-blown reading slump now! (Okay, at least for physical books)

Don't want to fall into a slump again.

I fully embrace it now... although that doesn't stop me from trying to overcome it, with low efforts, of course.

...and last year~

Went through my "Watch Later" playlist these past few days. Barely made any progress because I keep adding new videos lol.

A year later, same thing happened lol. Currently I have over 40 videos in that playlist *sigh*

The last part of the post talked about games playthrough on Youtube. Ahh... I haven't been playing Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer recently...

Game talk again~

After 470+ hours of playing, I finally got a Cerberus Harrier last night! Read somewhere that you might get one around 500 hours so I guess it fits the time (although I'm a bit early). Well, I'm perfectly fine with my Black Widow really (as a sniper in the game) but I am curious with this so getting it will just make matches fun for me ("New toy!") from now on. I hope.

Though lately it has been hard to find [random] people to play with. The internet (both Unifi and Maxis via mobile hotspot) hasn't been stable recently. I think that has made the matchmaking more difficult *sigh* I even switch between bronze and silver matches more frequently. Silver matches have been very great nowadays - just enough hardness(?) for me who's still grinding for the challenges. I hope I'll get better for gold matches in the future...

One of My favourite Colours

Used to be my one and only favourite colour (which changed accordingly to fandoms lol) but who says you can only have one favourite colour??? These past few years, it's back to being one of my favourite colours. Favourite shades are mood-dependent but recently (as in after Covid started), it's mint green :P

Japanese Genmaicha Latte

Tried a couple of drinks from ZUS Coffee (via FP of course lol) recently and I'm obsessed with this! Love the smell of brown rice mixed with matcha~

Green-eyed Monster

Because I'm only human, there will be moments where I will feel envy of someone or something(?)... I try not to dwell too long with them though because I'm the one who will be sick (literally got a headache once lol). It's more like I acknowledge it and sweep the feeling under the rug. Out of sight, out of mind :P

This can also refers to my FemShep in Mass Effect games that always have green eyes because I want her to XD (she can be a monster sometimes too lol)

Aqua Green

I've always call these shade of blues and/or greens this since little. I guess I don't really have a specific shade as favourite because I'm a fan of all of them (okay, maybe sometimes more for turquoise but that's not the point now). I just love that they feel like bluish green, greenish blue and both sometimes... and it works perfectly for me because blue is also one of my favourite colours.

ME3 Distractions

Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer game talk ahead.

Thanks to... distractions, I've completed two major challenges.

It feels good.

(Reckoning Mastery took me soooo long because Blood Pack Punisher is so hard to use...)

I guess I can go back to my favourite characters now... although recently my usual non-challenge character go-to is Turian Havoc (or Turian Ghost, depending on my mood) because I can do melee attack like Saitama XD... which is to kill the lower level enemies in one punch lol. I even change their appearance to Saitama's colours - yellow and red - instead of my usual blue and red theme. (Though I can't add red yet for my Turian Ghost because I haven't unlocked the secondary colour option)

Oh, I also need to focus on weapon challenges now... it has been fun learning to use other ones. I've unlocked some rare ones recently so I can't wait to try them more. Wasn't really a fan of shotguns before but after finding some good ones (and learning to use them in the game - it doesn't really scare me to get closer to the enemies anymore, though I still run from banshees :P), I think I can like them now.

I can also do more silver matches, I guess. I need the credits and practice.

Funny story. I was doing my ME3 multiplayer challenges last night and I somehow got dropped into a gold match (T_T) even though I was looking for a bronze match. I was playing as Volus Adept so... I was definitely not prepared for the match. Died a lot. Could've left but chose to stay. Learnt a lot from the other two players.

This is not the first time it happened but *haaaaah* the element of surprise always catch me off guard. It's really scary when you are underprepared.

Anyway... *more game talk :P* I'm currently replaying "AI: The Somnium Files" (can't believe that was two years ago!) before I play the new one. As usual, I don't remember much (because my memory is crap *sigh*) so it's almost like I'm playing for the first time again! It might be interesting going through the story [again] while knowing all the major spoilers...

1 // The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague

I think this is my favourite anime for this season. It's so cosy and chill XD

2 // Bofuri Season 2

I'm still watching this anime but... I find it tiring recently. I pretty much put it on 2x speed on Youtube. Surprisingly, it's not as bad as "Talentless Nana" & "So I'm a Spider, So What?"... I just don't think the theme is interesting anymore, it's pretty much predictable at this point.

3 // Hogwarts Legacy

Amazingly, since I don't follow the book series/fandom related to it, I find this game interesting...? Currently, I'm watching two playthroughs on Youtube... the gameplay looks fun so far.

4 // Monitor Stand

Last week, I finally use the monitor stand for the not-so-new-anymore monitor (got one under RM20 on Shopee lol). I think this will help lessen the neck pain thing I've been experiencing few weeks ago. I haven't tried playing Mass Effect multiplayer since then though... XD

5 // Mass Effect Weekend

Speaking of the game, I've been thinking... maybe I should make a weekly blog post of my Mass Effect playthrough? Just thought it might help with getting me continue my ME2 insanity playthrough...

6 // Organised Drawers

Did some organising for drawers in the kitchen today. It's actually nice to see organised. Maybe I do like that kind of thing. I just don't do it often because I don't like seeing they get disorganised again later. What's the point?

7 // "What's the point of cleaning if it just gets messy again?"

I kind of have this phrase stuck in my head whenever I'm unmotivated to clean up stuff but... it is, sometimes, important. If everything is in order, I don't lose things... and my things don't fall ~~and break~~ on the floor.

8 // Reading

It has been slow reading for me again lately. Sometimes it's not because I'm unmotivated... it's hard to read when you feel itchy or have blurry visions.

9 // Brave New World

I've been recalling this one song performed on "Call Me by Fire" (S2) recently... fortunately I remembered vaguely which song it was. Almost thought I would go to sleep with no answers XD

I've been getting "new" followers on Tumblr recently... pretty sure most, if not all, of them are spam accounts. Don't really get why it's happening now. I mean, I kind of get it, but still don't get it at the same time.

Nothing new here but I feel like I get/got distracted more these past few days. It was pretty bad when I was window-shopping on Shopee :P

12 // Dead Space Remake

It's funny how I can't watch any playthroughs for this because... I'm actually in the middle of playing the original version. Me, playing a horror game??? XD

It's like the ultimate test for me who has gotten used to horror stuff :P

Anyway, progress has been slow so I guess I won't be watching any playthroughs for at least a decade haha

Today has been kind of great so far.

First, water pressure is normal most of the day. I got to use the clean tub function on the washing machine. Also washed two batches of laundry. That's how good the water pressure is today.

Then... *let me turn on my ~~geek~~ fangirl mode* Today I realised I might have maxed my medigel etc capacity at 6. So, that's nice to know. I should start playing more Silver matches from now on.

I've been having fun on Mass Effect multiplayer recently because I got some challenges to complete. I'm doing things out of my comfort zone (like not using my favourite characters and Black Widow) and it's soooo fun. FUN! Like... I usually play as a sniper but I realised there are other weapons in the game that can act almost like a sniper rifle (Executioner!!!). Although if it's not a one-shot kind, I'm okay with it anyway (like I said, "out of my comfort zone" lol).

It happened.

It wasn't January 23rd. I don't know the exact date but I'm pretty sure it's now... or since few months ago.

It's the day I feel like abandoning my non-existent New Year resolution.

Damn this feeling!

...Although it's kind of funny posting this a day after yesterday's post lol.. I guess I just want to acknowledge this. I've been skipping blog-posting more recently. It's not like I feel guilty or anything. I just think it's proof that I've been kind of unmotivated these past few months. Hmmm.. I guess it's a bit like a burnout?

So what am I going to do to deal with this?

Nothing much, I think. It's really a me problem. I might find new ways to get creative with my posts (say, what do you think of me blogging about my gaming adventures in the future?.... ~~it might just be about Mass Effect but still..~~ LOL). Maybe make a non-rigid soft (rough?) schedule/timetable? (that I might have fun creating but won't follow closely lol)

I think it is time to panic because it's Sept 20th and I haven't started making any progress on my small goal!

...had a great idea about combining links to my posts in Evernote to make it easier to refer to next time (especially great for OTD posts). It's okay if you don't understand. It's just me talking to myself. Anyway... definitely not the time to do this but... I really have to do it. I'll try doing it little by little since it's not that urgent.

New Level

My dream has reached a whole new level of weirdness. In the dream, I've started working at a place that looks like my old one, with one of my senpais from work (who came in late, probably went out for lunch)... my other colleagues were people I know in Form 6 & our supervisor was my Moral Education teacher from secondary school, Miss Teh. Oh, also there's a beautiful view of the sunset (the reddish kind) from the office balcony which I tried to take a photo of and I failed.

This week, I should finish reading "The Remains of the Day", "The Girl Who Played with Fire" and "Silence"... according to my schedule lol. Might be earlier for "The Girl Who Played with Fire" because it's at a really interesting part now.

Still itching to play Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer so I decided to open the Origin app yesterday and let it finish updating whatever it's updating. Haven't tried opening ME3 but I suspected the updating thing (it shouldn't, usually it's fine doing that in the background) was causing the disconnection recently.

Today is pretty annoying. I think it's because of my dream last night (or morning?). I don't remember much though, other than it's about being chased by something. Or someone. It was scary and annoying at the same time.

Been trying to play Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer this week and I kept getting disconnected from the game. (⇇ this annoyed me too, hmpph!) I think the origin app is sus. Whenever I open it, the computer started acting weird.
