Exhilarating experience.

Started real driving lessons today.

I always wonder if the pedals are like the piano pedals.. Well, of course I'm aware that it's a totally different thing... The thing is: I thought it was hard when I first learn to use the piano pedal and I hated it - I cringed whenever I saw a song with pedal signs - but.. when I got used to it, I almost couldn't play without it! Anyway. I think that piano experience helped me a bit. Also, I thought I would have problems with clutch and changing gears but my main problem mostly was the steering wheel..haha... I have "lazy hands"! Will have lesson on this Friday again.

Funnily, I still can't picture myself as a driver. When the tutor asked me to sit in the driver's seat, I got on the seat and forgot to wear the safety belt. I know I wasn't supposed to look at the speedometer but I can't help it. I wanted to make sure I got the speed right for the gear I was using (they spoke about that a lot during the KPP). The highest I went was 30km/h (lol)... and I was driving around a neighbourhood in Taman Khidmat. There were a group of construction workers looking at us and I ignored their smiles.

Seriously, why do people smile when they see an L-plated car?

===

I made myself a Twitter account yesterday. I don't intend to put the link here [yet] because I'm still experimenting... Why did I do it? Hmmm... I just think it's useful for telling people you know about "What I'm doing now" kind of thing... But I haven't found anyone I know on Twitter yet. I was hoping that Ren-chan and Mel-chan would join... But I know they are extremely busy... (I'm the worst! I'm not working or studying!) I also tried using SMS... Not bad, RM0.20 per sms (I thought it was RM0.50). I actually seldom do SMS so I'm feeling quite generous with 20 cents. *smiles* Otherwise (if you think SMS is expensive), there's always the web way (or the mobile web way).

Oh yeah. I also think it's amusing to look back at what I'd tweeted (still getting used to twitter terms). It's like my own mini diary or journal. It's perfect for those who don't want to blog a long post (*winks at Mel-chan*) or don't bother to write little things (e.g. I'm watching...) in their diaries (like me). If I'm away from computer and internet connection, I can still micro-blog before blogging the real thing in my blog.

I want to do some blog-housekeeping this week!

===

"Boys Over Flowers" is getting on my nerves lately. When I watch "Hana Yori Dango" I always thought it has some kind of korean drama elements in it. Then, now you got the real korean drama materialized - it didn't quite work well for me. Sure, I love Jun-pyo.. (I've always like Tsukasa's character anyway).. but I found it hard to like Jan-di. Very hard. Ji-hu too. I only seem to like him when he has that Ken-zou haircut. The music wasn't that impressive either (I haaaatttee the "Paradise" song but surprisingly could accept "Lucky"). Of course, I'm going to watch the drama to the end anyway (you can't review a drama if you don't finish watching it). It's just that I can't help thinking if this wasn't because of the HYD story, I would have stop watching it in the middle. Hmmm...

===

A few years ago, I already watched "The Good Old Days". I have the opportunity to re-watch it now that NTV7 is airing it. I always have been amazed by Amy Chan's character, Sau Hau in there. Now I can safely say she's my favourite character in the drama. She is loyal, helpful, diligent, humble, innovative, smart, resourceful...the list goes on. I think I've subconsciously keep in mind all these years (since Primary School) wanting to be like her.

My review blog seem dead. I must be harsh to myself - Don't slack off!

I seriously have to stop slacking off! I don't like to lie to my piano teacher when she asks if I practised the song. Playing it less than five times in a 6-day time isn't what I call "practice". *sigh* I kept being distracted by the piano scores I found on the internet...

Anyway.. I ordered a book (There's a song I wanted to play from the book & I think this one is too hard for me) from here a few weeks ago. Today I received an e-mail from them telling me that they'd received my payment (I used bank draft) and to expect to receive the book in 10 days... - but I also received it today! That was fast!

Shopping bag!

Unbelievable. I [could] actually love seeing Jiro Wang and Rainie Yang in ToGetHer! A lead character for Jiro Wang and an otaku girl for Rainie Yang. Wow.

I can't understand why June (a form 6 ex-classmate) hate watching Jiro Wang. He's such a talented person! But this doesn't mean I have a fever/crush going on with him or Fahrenheit...

===

I finally finish reading "Catch-22" yesterday! The funny thing about it was I didn't find it that funny at all. Yes, I agree that it's funny at some parts... I guess I wasn't really into the story itself. But it was an easy read (I can read it fast compared to classic novels)... and I like the dialogues between the characters - that's mostly where the "funny" factor are. It gets depressing a bit in the end but it ended well - Yossarian got what he wants - and I don't mind reading it's sequel (hopefully the library has it).

Bengkel done last Saturday! Will start real driving lessons this Apr 15th (hopefully)...

===

I've been in a bad mood since I returned from the Bengkel last Saturday. I really loathe smokers! I'm not "against" smoking because stupid, lowly people deserve to die. It's the smoke that really bothers me because it drags me along to second hand-smoking. What is this world coming to? I saw a kid once sharing a smoke with an adult. I saw an under-18 kid coming in the Kolombong 7-11 outlet and asked for a box of cigarettes.

Screw you, smokers!

A Mix of Something

Posted in: 2009 posts | Friends | Life | Me. | Reviews

*sigh*

I'm really trying to be a good best friend now. I already planned weeks before my friends and siblings birthdays.

And this month - it's Mel-chan's birthday!

I'm so conceitedly proud of myself (although the day hasn't arrived)!

Haha

As in my post earlier, I had started working... [so] semi-part timely. My latest erm... new experience was making calls to strangers. Try imagining my reaction when I was told "You have to make calls to this list of people and ask them ---.." Okay. No surprise, actually. I went, "umph... okay." I always suspected that I can be good at this. But I never had the courage to [even] order Pizza-hut home delivery. I'm that pathetic. Anyway. The most terrible moments were when I had to call someone who knows me... and also when I called them at the wrong time (meetings and such)... *relief sigh* I'm glad that's over. Fortunately, I felt like laughing all the time that I think the impression (of my voice) I gave them wasn't that bad. I know my voice sounded different in the phone so that's why I was brave enough to telephone an old childhood friend (but doesn't keep in touch with each other anymore). I felt really stupid and ridiculous treating [in the phone] anyone who knows me in a business-like manner. But the work itself (someone up-there requested it) was already very ridiculous!

*sigh. sigh.*

I haven't had the courage to update my drama reviews. I don't know what's holding me back! Hmmm... Change of topic: "Corner with Love" is shown in Astro AEC channel... I've watched it a bit in 8TV but never completely. Even when it's in AEC, I didn't watch it faithfully... I don't have the right to commend a drama I haven't watch but I do have some complaints of the casts. I believe there can be a sweet chemistry between Xin Lei and Qin Lang, but it seems to take forever to see it properly. But then, remember, I haven't watch it so I might had missed some significant scenes. My chief complaints weren't about Barbie Xu (I always think she is a good actress) and Show Lo (sometimes his expression looks fake but he's okay)... It's the side characters. I can't stand Lu Jia Xin (Cai Xiao Yang and and Carolyn Chen (Wen Bi Zhu)'s portrayals. The other male characters weren't that better either.

Anyway. I will [try to] watch this so that I can give it a proper review (having said all these without finish watching it.)

Randomly Thinking, Seeing and Feeling...

Posted in: # Kurosagi | # Monk | 2008 posts | Books | Cringy Teenage Years | Life | Random-ness | Reviews | Shopping Bag

Kudos: Emoticons(Kaoni) from here. Also from here and here. Emoticons removed

I finished reading "Pride and Prejudice" a few weeks ago. When I was going to return it to the library, I hesitated at the very last minute. Eventually, I re-borrow and now I'm re-reading it. I read an abridged version before (couldn't find the original/unabridged version in my school library) but didn't think much about it. After reading the real thing, I fell in love with that book! I was doubtful about reading Jane Austen books (everyone has different tastes) after I started on "Sense and Sensibility" and stopped reading half-way. Maybe it's because I'm not familiar to Jane Austen's style of writing... Anyways, I'm going to give it a try again soon.

I also re-read "Jane Eyre". The feelings I get are different from my form 5 days. I was able to see it from a different angle. This time, it's the religion issue that appeals the most to me. Before (form 5), I was kind of dissapointed that Jane left Mr. Rochester after it was discovered that he was going to marry her while his [crazy] wife still alive. My limited understanding in english language (especially the old english used in Jane Eyre) must had prevented my mind from imagining some scenes in the book. Now, having re-reading it, I think Jane made the right decision. I must had been distracted by Mr. Rochester's charms.. but he can't make me think otherwise this time. He is in the wrong and he almost made Jane sin too. Jane Eyre is a really remarkable character that I can't help admiring her more.

It's so hard to find MONK novels in Sabah. So far, I only have two in my collection. I just finished "Mr.Monk in Outer Space" and I want to say how adorably annoying Adrian Monk is in the the first half of the book. I pity his agoraphobic brother very much. He "improves" later in the second half though.

A few days ago, I had a music theory trial exam. "What is that?", you asked? I guess my music school is kind of "obssessed" by perfect marks. So they made me come and sit for 2 hours doing similar & past-years questions of music theory (grade one). Hmmm. As this is my first time, I thought I came at the wrong day. Haha. But, actually I came in too early. There's only 6 or 7 others exam-takers. I was very nervous before because I thought that place would be filled with people... kids.. Imagine me the only adult student.. taking grade one exam.. Why did I let myself into this awkward situation? Anyway. I'm thinking of a disguise because my exam is going to be held at UMS. I don't want to stumble on anyone I know (except Mel-chan, of course) there! Hmmm.

Hana Kimi's SP drama was SO funny! I can't stop laughing seeing Nakatsu at the beginning. Sano seem to have more monologue scenes (did he have any in the drama? I don't remember...).. This SP also seems to answer this questions: How and when Sano fell in love with Mizuki? What were Kagurazaka feelings after the kiss with Sano? (That's funny and so unlike Kagurazaka)..etc. There were also more "elaborated" stories for the side characters... Mizuki's best friend's, Julie, sudden appearance was kind of a repetition and combination of Mizuki's family coming to visit her. Hibari Four downgraded to Hibari Three... and then back to Four in the end... Also there's more erm.. gay-ish thing going on in the SP. Nakao kissing Nanba-senpai. Kagurazaka making lunch for Sano... hmmm. I thought Yuujiro was supposed to be a female dog (that's why it doesn't like men)? Here, he was "married" to Nakatsu's family dog and even had (I assume) several Yuujiro Jrs... I like seeing Sano and Nakatsu being so friendly to each other. Maybe I'll talk about this later after I re-watch it. I really miss Sano's old hairstyle.

My latest shopping bag from Yesasia included NEWS "Happy Birthday" singles, a KUROSAGI manga and a postcard book of "I left my heart in Aegean Sea"... Wait.. postcard book? *smiles sheepishly* I thought I was going to get the book version. I never knew there was a postcard book version. Nevertheless, I'm going to cherish it just as much as I'll cherish the book if I ever own the book. --// By the way, the author has a new site... //-- The "Happy Birthday" singles smelt like bubble gum... you must take this statement positively because it's in a neutral tone. And what the heck am I doing with a KUROSAGI manga? I don't read and talk japanese! The weird thing is... I didn't read chinese 5 years ago either. How did it happen? A couple years ago, I read 還珠格格 3 - 天上人間 and cried buckets. Weird, isn't it? I was hoping that the same thing will happen to my KUROSAGI manga(s).. chotto.. manga...s?

Oh, Yes. I already owned eight of them. Eight of manga(s) in which I can't read a thing. Crazy indeed. What had induced me to do such a thing? My brain blames my compulsive feelings. My heart blames my over-confidence of learning a new language. At one point in the past, realising how much I adore KUROSAGI's live-action and wanting to see more Kurosaki X Tsurara moments, I must have the original ones and read it in Japanese.

~Ah. Glad to get all that out.~

Another thing that made me smile.

So far I only found a malay link.
I just hope the malaysian smokers won't be this smart. "Menegakkan benang yang basah!"

People who smoke are walking murderers.

My on-my-right smoking neighbour had finally moved out. What's left is the on-my-left neighbour. Such good days... Spraying my dettol disinfectant or the mosquito repellant (the point is to let them hear the spraying...) and hoping hopelessly that they die stop smoking...

I need to find a new way to torture annoy my smoking neighbours.
