It's okay, I guess. Very reminiscent of Phrolova's patch and Cantarella's companion quest combined. Quite fanservicy, in my opinion, but for Chisa fans and surprisingly, anime fans..? It's a bit of a me problem: I just recently recovered from my anime-watching slump so I'm still kind of sensitive to things that could bring me back to the slump (T_T). 

BUT we get some Rover lore in the end so I'm very satisfied! I can't wait to get to the next area (Lahai-Roi)!

Wasn't planning to pull for Chisa but I find her gameplay quite fun so I decided to go for it. Unfortunately, I got another copy of Jianxin (now she's S2)... & I'm fine with this result. Next time!

My backup-speedrun account got her (guaranteed) but in the same 10-pull, I managed to also lose my 50/50... so I guess it's another guarantee for whatever future banner I will pull. I decided to get her for this account because I wasn't confident that my Fenn account will be able to. I was proven wrong lol because that account won the 50/50 lol... Good thing is I think I can do the 2.8 main stories without finishing Rinascita's...? (haven't tried it yet though) So I should be able to level her up to Level 90.

So glad that I'm done getting all the boss materials for ascension for all my resonators because while I don't exactly have all of it (the forgery & weekly boss materials can wait), it's kinda comfortable to prepare for Brant's materials. I'm never this prepared lol - I even got all the weekly boss materials for him (yes, all 26 of them!) and his echo set (because I was already doing one for Encore) ready lol




My Fenn account was super lucky! Lost 50/50 to Encore then got Brant straightaway in the same ten-pull. I want that luck in my main account!!! 😭 *sigh*. Also got his signature weapon early (around 40ish pull). This account totally didn't prepare for him lol. Just thought I should try pulling a bit since I can put him in a team with Changli. 

It's Brant's day today but it's also the day our water tank got an overdue fix-up/maintenance. Which means, there'll be no water supply available in the kitchen area for at least 3 days. Fortunately, the tank upstairs is not affected.

Something I forgot to post about weeks ago: On February 14th, I received the 3rd volume of the light novel "If the Villainess and Villain Met and Fell in Love" in the mail.

There are other factors but I haven't been posting much here because currently the keyboard I'm using is kind of broken. There are certain keys that don't work when pressed. I'm using a backup, compact keyboard but I miss using the numpad area lol.

But today I'm glad that I could still make a good(?) decision, even when I'm in zombie mode... like purchasing a book before it got sold out in the afternoon! Well, I guess I should've expected that because it had two copies left before I checked out the order. 

Damn, was I the reason (the trigger? lol) that the last copy was gone after me??? Sometimes I do receive e-mails from BookXcess about the books I put in the cart ("Oops, the items in your cart are going fast!") Lol I even got one for the book today - I guess it got triggered as soon as I added it to the cart - so maybe someone also decided to get it fast before they lose their chance today. Or maybe they were also like me who suddenly decided recently, "Hey, I wanna read some H. P. Lovecraft stories. I never read one before, even though I've watched many game playthroughs that were inspired by his stories..."

I didn't really have many choices. A similarly-priced book on Shopee has less stories.. I did find the same book for a cheaper price there but I missed out on buying it 😓. They're either not in stock or too expensive on Kino. Oh well. 

To be honest, I do have some of his works on my Kindle but I kind of prefer having a physical book if we're dealing with short stories here. Short story collections seem to intimidate me more when they're in digital form 😭... it feels never-ending and takes longer than it should to finish them. The downside is I'm stuck with a large, fancy-looking book of short stories collection... I sure hope that I'm compatible with the writing style!... Yes, yes I know, I can check them online but I want it to be a surprise(?), and it's kind of a '0 or 100' thing - a 'don't read at all or read a lot of them' situation - so that's why we're at this point today~ 

Will this year be the year I'm finally reading more books from the horror genre???

Had a very restful sleep last night... but no dreams though. At least, not those that I can remember. I'm aware that I'm pretty much in a zombie mode so today's post might not be as coherent as I hope it would be. I'm not remembering much... (ooh.. that doesn't sound good at the start of the year lol)

I feel like I have some stuff I need to post to conclude(?) my 2023 so I might need a few more days to make sense of my thoughts... it's okay, I have time :P 

I guess the amount of pages will be the first thing I'll check when considering what to read next.

...*sigh* I really need to tidy up my books [that aren't put in the bookshelf] though. I have to put away those I've already read. 

It's weird. I think I'm still suffering from the effects of skipping a night's sleep. Even though it has already been days. *sigh* It's mostly slow brain days (and some clumsiness and poor reflex) now but it's still not fun. Strangely, I'm feeling happy for no clear reasons. Probably another effect.

Also, can't stand slowness today. I feel like putting all the Youtube videos I'm watching on 1.5x speed. 

And my brain is soooo slow. Oh, and I get easily irritated. I almost couldn't continue watching the few episodes of "Sugar Apple Fairy Tale" [...almost typed out "Sugar Apple Iced Tea" LOL] I haven't watched. Seriously, the small things the MC did in the show... goshh...so annoying. Sometimes it sounds like she's just repeating what other people just said or saying something obvious...ggrrrh why do I find her so annoying??? Like, just don't say anything if you don't have anything useful to say!

Found a short web novel today. It had a rough beginning (toxic stepmother and bad stepsister) but I think I laughed most of it because the male lead (a duke this time, for a change) made a contract (that involved a spirit) wanting nothing to do with the wife he's marrying. If she tries to seduce him into bed (=breaks the contract), she'll be cursed. MC is fine with that. The duke isn't. The contract thing was not done according to his wishes (it was his aides' doings, they thought MC is bad), and MC happens to be his long-lost childhood love... so you see... he'll want to break that contract XD -- yeah I was laughing my meanest laugh, waiting for him to realise that muahaha... Fortunately, he's not the one who came up with the contract idea because the contract sounds so terrible... Even if MC was okay with it and even praised how "good" it was/it didn't have any loopholes.

My reading slump, my rules :P

Tried decaf coffee last night and it was still strong enough to make me stay awake until the morning... oof. I guess it's still no coffee at night for me~ (at least, for most nights that is huehuehue)

Finished reading a book today. It's a short one but the feeling of accomplishment is great. I actually want to try that 'not reading new physical books' idea or something close to that and then I went and give myself another idea today - to reread books (specifically, DWJ books). Nothing is set yet really because it could backfire but I'll keep it in mind.

Truthfully, I'm quite content with finishing [and adding more on the side :P] my pile of unfinished Japanese web novels (lol) but if I spend my time with only them I worry that my physical book reading slump will get worse. I know how bad that will affect and twist my expectations for traditionally-published books...

...I'm going to start reading the second volume today 'cos damn it, I need my daily(?) dose of Sei [& Albert]. If worse comes to worst, I'll just re-read the two volumes again because why not? But first, I would read slowly to savour the moments. I might even move on to the web novel version later. I will try distracting myself with finishing other books but no promises... too invested with the Sei's story (T_T)

Currently I'm reading first volume of "The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent" light novel and I'm happy to report(?) that Albert being smooth(?) at courting Sei is just as what is seen on the anime version. GAAAAH I LOVE IT SO MUCH 

Anyway, the usual zombie mode in progress. It's really hard to recall things today. I don't feel patient too which is kind of discomforting, like I can't sit still for stuff I usually can. 

Here's hoping I'll survive the day~ 

I really hate my Chrome bookmarks today *sigh* (why are everything so messy???)... maybe I should just make a temporary folder first and move/combine whatever I want into that... then replace them into the main one later. Yeah. I think I'll try that tomorrow.

Unfortunately (or fortunately?), I randomly got into another web novel yesterday... it was fun, I had a great time... luckily it's short. I finished it in one day lol. It has an anime adaptation too but I couldn't find it yet.

Been having problems with the Libby app these past two months. It's so annoying. One library card said my account is expired (it isn't), so I couldn't login since March.  The other card, they couldn't verify for some reason... although there's no problem when I tried it on desktop today. Both problems have already been resolved (for now) but I can't stop thinking about it being a disadvantage for using e-books. Minor problems(?) of course... *haaah* I think... I just feel like complaining about it a bit in my blog today.

Anyway... I think lack of sleep has caught up with me today. My brain is not processing properly throughout the day (-_- ). I can't even trust myself to aim properly while playing ME3 Multiplayer (ahhh I wanna play but I'm so sleepy...) 

Had some weird realisation while watching a youtube video today: I might not be a fan of ASMR...? At least for today, I don't like the sound when plastic packages get opened (so annoying, STOP IT!)... still don't like the whispering ones (thanks "Grimcutty", for that).. I am [still] a fan of voices - I guess normal talking voices, no whispering or screaming(?) - especially deep voices... I'm not sure if that's under ASMR. Although I must mention I'm perfectly okay with ambience sounds (I have this app called "O Relax" in my phone and I sometimes use it to help me fall asleep). Is that considered ASMR? 

Let's not think too much about it.
