Blog meme from here.

Saturday 9: Home

1. Do you live close to where you grew up? Why?
Currently I'm totally living where I grew up (haha). Because 1- I'm a penniless & yet to graduate university student, 2 - I want to spend time with my family as much as I can before I move out & 3 - I need to have access to a piano because I take piano/music theory exams almost every year :P. *selfish reasons*

2. Have you ever been so angry that you almost lost control?
Yes. It gives me headaches and bad days.

3. Are you a fan of a musical act that slightly embarrasses you?
Errrr... Not really a fan.. but I kind of like this song since I saw him perform on Music Station years ago on Animax channel. IT WAS TOO CATCHY. XD I dare you to listen
edit 2022/01/21: "this song" = YT link removed. Watch it here instead. Listen on Spotify here.

4. Is there a movie that always makes you cry?
Nothing in particular but I know animal movies almost always will make me cry.

5. Who is the most famous person that you've met?
Never met one before... or maybe I just didn't care :P.

6. Before you leave your home, what must you have?
This depends on why I leave my home... basic things are wallet and mobile phone. Will include a book if the place I'm going will give me time to read.

7. What do you miss the most about being a kid?
Nothing really... I was more reserved as a kid & I don't really want to go back to that.

8. Tell us about a passion of yours that your readers would not expect.
Cooking, I guess... I always have the urge to try the food I saw on Arashi shows XD so I will look up for the recipe online.

9. At what age do you think you'd be to think, “I've had a great run”?
70? 80?

Blog meme from here.

"Make You Feel My Love"

1. What has someone done unusual to make you feel their love?
There are many... but one thing that came to mind instantly when I saw this question is something that happened eight years ago. 2003. I forgot to bring a history reference book to school. The teacher was a scary one so I was afraid all the time before his class (in the noon I think). Two of my best friends that were sitting beside me each brought me a reference book they borrowed from someone else (at different times). In the end I had two books (& if my memory doesn't fail me, the class was cancelled or the books weren't used at all :D)... I always feel the same warmth I felt at that time every time I recall this story.

2. Do you own a smart phone? If yes, is it everything you wanted? If no, how seriously have you considered a purchase of the new smart phone?
Yes. It isn't perfect but it was what I wanted in the beginning. I've always been interested in machines/devices with touch screen since little.

3. Have you ever camped out to purchase something?
No.

4. What is your worst habit?
Procrastinating.

5. What is your best habit?
Able to catch on/pick up something (knowledge, information, change of atmosphere...) quickly *sometimes I lie :P*. I don't know if you can call this a habit but it's the only thing I like about myself, so let me call it my best habit for now. Sometimes it doesn't work well. Like for math.

6. In your opinion, what is life's greatest mystery?
Ohno Satoshi. It's my life's greatest mystery.

7. Are you one of those people who is constantly busy with projects, social outings, etc. or do you just like to lay low and stay home?
I generally don't like to go out (socializing?) unless it's family members (including relatives) or friends I'm close to. I always have something I want to do at home. My personal projects have no ends. I do like to travel or go on sightseeing trips though.

8. Whether you're busy all the time or like to just chill, have you always been that way?
Have always been like this since ten years ago...

9. Is there something you'd like to change about how you spend your time? If so, what is it? If not, why not?
Hmmm. I don't really want to change anything... except the time I spend for studying Math. I want to believe that the time spent to study ensures that I could develop interest in the subject, be more familiar with the subject and able to answer well in exams/tests. This is because when it involves subjects I don't really have genuine interest in it, I'm not convinced that I have studied properly. Maybe this sounds confusing..doesn't matter. It's enough that I understand this problem alone. XD

I've seen Arashi's "Training Camp"!!! Love the sight of Arashi + piano. And WHOA. I was impressed by Sho's piano rendition of "Hatenai Sora". For a moment I forgot that this is the Sho who always fail athletically (on their variety shows anyways, I don't know how athletic he is in real life XD) , he looked so...[Read More]

Two Thousand Ten

Posted in: 2011 posts | Arashi 嵐 | Blog Post Collection | Delayed Rebellious Phase (Cringeworthy) | Interest | Learning French Language | Nonsense | Ohno Satoshi 大野智 | Reminiscences

Just thought of doing this because I did a post on my year 2009, I want one for year 2010 too!

But I'll do it in this style : Past, Present, and Future.

Past : First Half (January-Jun 2010)
2010 was EVENTFUL. I did another NaBloPoMo challenge for January 2010 (which explains why there were so many odd posts in that month XD). My sister went to Selangor for PLKN. Semester 2 started and I did a few posts on my classes and happenings in university. I still have studying problems as usual. I made a checklist to help me but that was a total failure LOL. I also did a blog meme (did many but this one is special) that gave out interesting results.

Gosh! The difference between now and then!! Most of my posts are laid-back and some are personal thoughts... And I was still obsessed with Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato (Camp Rock effects, thank you).

Past : Second Half (July-December 2010)
From past experience, I usually don't blog much in mid-year. I don't remember much for 2010 too. Unless it's my obsession, course. Looking at my Tumblr's archive, it started with "Nodame Cantabile" in September.

And then Ohno Satoshi happened. It was declared in a tweet on Sept 26th.
Ohno Satoshi. Crush. *Hazukashi!!!* :") #maou

Maou.

Life is never the same again after I entered the Arashi fandom.

Pre-Present
It's going to be the 5th semester this coming semester. & I SCREWED UP A LOT. One VERY IMPORTANT fact that I realised in the 4th semester (DISASTROUS)- I don't like Maths. WHAT THE HECK. It took almost 2 years to finally accept this fact. TOTALLY SCREWED UP.

Some things changed last semester. Like suddenly having no motivation to go to French classes. That was so weird. It's like I never wanted to learn French in the first place. But I will continue learning the language though because it's my dream to be able to talk gibberish in several languages when I'm in panic mode.

Present
No more Yamashita Tomohisa. No more Joe Jonas. No more. Ohno Satoshi is different. Who would have thought it would come to this? The me who didn't care to buy any Arashi singles in the past ("NEWS' singles/albums are more important" thoughts) is now desperate to find extra money for Arashi's singles/albums/Live DVDs XD. That Ohno... is irresistible. He was always invisible to me but when I finally saw him, the other members are blurred out perfectly now. *starts talking nonsense* XD

Because of Ohno Satoshi & Arashi, I re-developed wishes to learn japanese again and it was smooth-sailing unlike last time. It's like... because I have a reason, I can stay interested. I see that it's really important for me to really want to learn a language to get the grasp of it. It's totally different from just wanting to learn for the sake of learning new things.

Future
Something I don't want to think of now

I use Google Reader.

Posted in: 2009 posts | Delayed Rebellious Phase (Cringeworthy) | Interest | NaBloPoMo

Do you use Google Reader?

I just started using it last year. At first I was just experimenting with other google services I can use other than gmail. Then I discovered how useful Google Reader is.

Some people 'socializes' within Google Reader (giving comments, "like" feature) but I think what's important is the "reading" part. To be able to share information with others is a bonus.

I do think there's room for improvement for other features... but for now, it serves its job well for me - Deliver updates without me visiting the web sites (except for commenting purposes or read the full article). It works very fine for me.

I have a list of blogs of people I know (schoolmates, church members, university mates...) in my google reader. Stalking? Not really. I'm just interested with their latest happenings. And they can choose to make their blog private. Duh. Speaking of blogs... another reason why I prefer "viewing" blogs in google reader is I want to avoid that background songs in their blogs. Oh yeah. & the small font they used. & the not-so-nice, distractive colours they used.

I also found out... how useful it can be when I want to know more about something (& want to be familiarised with it). For example, Twitter. When I started tweeting, I want to read any news & articles related to Twitter but I can't stand having to visit all sites just to read them. So I made a folder specially for that.. & put all related subscriptions under that folder. By doing so, I am constantly updated by the latest happenings regarding Twitter.

Just recently, I realised how Google Reader can help my university studies. I'm still getting used to what my course can offer so I don't know yet what should I subscribe to. I already have a "Maths" folder. Hehe... It's useful for work too, if you're not studying.

A Day for Musical Thoughts.

Posted in: 2009 posts | Delayed Rebellious Phase (Cringeworthy) | Interest | Life | Me. | NaBloPoMo | Piano | Piano Exam | University | University: Year 1

If you think this post is about a song I/someone just wrote or an awesome clip I just saw on youtube…

It’s not.

Anyway. Despite a week crammed with final exam papers coming, I think I was in an oddly good mood this morning. It’s not like I do that every Sunday… but I hate being pestered around in the morning (“Are you ready yet?”). A total mood killer.

Today it was loud as usual at church (I blabbered before about the loud music) but I was enjoying it. Beautiful music. The guitarist was absent but everything sounded great… the music team (excluding the singers) had good chemistry with each other. Two of my cousins were on the stage, one playing the bass guitar & the other the electric piano. I admire them… I wish I was brave enough to perform on stage or at least in front of those children in Sunday school. I’m not that confident.

Then, after church, it’s piano class. We were an hour late. As I entered the music school, my piano teacher saw me and waved. So it seems I missed the dateline for registration of ABRSM Theory Exam. But I can still register today. The exam is in March next year, I don’t know what class I’ll miss on that day… but hopefully it’s not a mid-term exam day. The ABRSM practical exam I took this year was [so fortunately] on a day I didn’t have classes. Coincidence, but I was grateful I chose to let my Thursday free of classes. My mum suggested me taking the June/July’s Guild Theory Exam again (I took Guild’s Grade 1 before)… but I somewhat made my mind to take ABRSM exams only. No particular reason, really. Okay, maybe it has something to do with my teacher having faith (questionable, ‘cos I’m quite inconsistent in my progress) in me to take them… I don’t know. I believe she knows the best & I trust her decision.

I registered for the March exam anyway and now I have a new fear.

Regarding piano… I’m always afraid that I’m not good enough. I have all the reasons I can think of to prevent my self-confidence from soaring – not enough practice (which is true) and starting so late. The former is easy to change but the latter… it doesn’t always bother me (because I kind of believe I have something a child piano student don’t have), but it’s there. The thoughts come out occasionally… accompanied with my past regret of letting go the opportunity to learn music early. *sigh*

This evening, my cousin and her family came. They had other business to attend to with my father but I had a small pep talk with my cousin-in-law. I believe that’s the only time I ever had a conversation with him. Haha. He saw our piano and came the usual interrogation about when it was bought, about learning to play etc. He also played some songs on the piano. He was good! He said he didn’t learn it formally… aww… I always envy these kind of people. You know. People who can listen and arrange those songs on the piano almost immediately. Apparently I have many cousins who are like that and I wondered why I don’t have it. Huh. Anyway. I’m jealous enough to practise more in the future…which I think is a positive thing.

He told me that it wasn’t hard to play that way… I just have to listen to more music (piano version ones, I assume) or anything I like (“There’s nothing wrong with pop songs…”) and try playing it on the piano. When I have get used to it, it would come off naturally next time. Hehe. And he asked me to go and play the keyboard at their church in Alamesra (where there’s many students from the same university I go to.) While the idea of performing in front of a crowd is appealing but far-fetched at the same time, I do think he had given me advice that suit my current thoughts.

Am I too selfish to pursue my tertiary education at the same time with music? I don’t want to feel regret again for letting go the opportunity. Music is one of the reasons I live off-campus & miss all those dorm experience. People around me (mostly indirectly, through my parents) had often question my decision of not living in the university dorm. I think some people hate me for doing so. Sometimes I take it to heart of such suggestions (which I’ll appreciate if you don’t mention it in the comments section) but I know they were thinking the best for me. I can’t say I’m sure that my decision is the right one… but I won’t let it be the wrong one. Maybe what’s ‘right’ for others isn’t always ‘right’ for me.

Of Blogging and Tweeting

Posted in: 2009 posts | About Blogging | blog | Delayed Rebellious Phase (Cringeworthy) | Interest | NaBloPoMo | Personal Thoughts | Tweets | Twitter | University: Year 1

Instead of choosing October or December, I chose November as my NaBloPoMo month. I’m totally new to this but there’s always first-times for anything! Hopefully, I’m doing it right. Why November? Hmm… It’s actually a part of my BoP plan which I’ll blog about later after I thought deeply of the matter. Anyway… I thought it’s a good way to get to know other bloggers around the world (I do read some of those on the blogroll). It’s also a way to bring more readers here… though I don’t really have much to offer other than the stories of my life and my opinions. But I love the NaBloPoMo site, it’s a really nice place for bloggers to get together and discuss about blogging. I haven’t participate much on the site though (commenting etc), but I plan to do so during my semester break.

Also, starting from this post, I’m using a new kind of commenting system. DISQUS. Other than being attracted to the comment form interface, I had always wanted a comment system that enable readers to use their Twitter account to comment.

Twitter and tweeting… I still do it daily and recently I dragged another friend of mine to tweet! She had a good start… though she was a few weeks late to follow Miley Cyrus. Oh yeah. That name reminded me of something I just read yesterday. Apparently a fan of hers (or several? I didn’t take time to read through the original site) threatened to eat her/his cat, Fuzzy, if Cyrus doesn’t return to Twitter. My first reaction was this. Nasty, nasty fan(s). And bad influence. Sorry, @Neylev if you’re reading this. I’m really not a fan of hers. If she brings such influence (animal cruelty?)  to her fans then it’s better if she stay away from Twitter. Anyway. I’m more concerned of the cat actually and I don’t blame Cyrus entirely for this.. the fan(s) should’ve thought of better ways to reach out to her if they have brains to think.

Leaving that pathetic issue aside…  What do you think of re-tweeting someone whose twitter account is private/protected? I do RT some of my friends when they tweeted something interesting and suits my current thoughts. But one of those cool tweets belong to a friend with a private account. Evan Williams (Twitter CEO)’s tweeted :

retweet What if the protected tweets are about something very important that I think the world should also know about it?
Can I say that it depends on the protected twitter user?  Maybe some of them are okay with re-tweeting some of their tweets as long as it’s NOT ALL of them.

*sigh* To the friend I’m talking about, if you think I shouldn’t RT certain tweets (or all of it… though you know that my fingers will itch to re-tweet that cool, funny or interesting tweets of yours ;-D )  tell me so and I’ll stop.

R.I.P Kutner (House MD)

Posted in: # House MD | 2009 posts | Death | Interest | Personal Thoughts | TV

I read yesterday that Kutner died in the latest episode of House!
Yeah, I read House Spoilers all the time.

Oh, gosh... AXN just reached Eps 5.. I wonder if I could bear to watch him now... (I will pay attention more to his character from now on...)

I really love Kutner!

I thought I wouldn't cry until I saw the episode myself. But, tears just came out naturally when I visited the FOX site (or here). I think it was really good that they want the audience to learn something about depression from Kutner's death.

It's interesting to note that Omar Epps' character in ER also committed suicide. His character was overworked (if I remember it correctly) and Benton and Carter's attitude just made it worst. Kutner's death, however, wasn't something you've expected to happen.

**Actually the reason his character was killed off is this. (Congrats, Kal Penn!)

Happy Thoughts?

Posted in: 2009 posts | Books | Friends | Interest | Learning to Drive | Life | Me. | My Fangirl Side | Random-ness | Self-talk

Post: March 3rd, 2009.
Erm. It's March. I will start my driving classes this month.

Post: March 7th, 2009.
A tiring day of doing nothing but sitting and listening.

Post: March 11th, 2009.
I haven't read my KPP book.

What happened to my driving lessons?

I was given 1 week to read the KPP book. I took 2 weeks to start reading it. Then it dragged to another week because I was too sad to study the road signs and rules. Last Monday, the driving tutor called and I (kind of) panicked, and said (impulsively) I'll take the 1st Test (the computer test) this Saturday.

Which is today.

But... Yokatta!!!!!!!!

Well, I "crammed" the days between Monday and Saturday... and I scored 1 point more than the pass score (42/50). I almost can't believe it because I didn't put much effort. Forty three?! The effort and result do not seem to add up.

Anyway. I can't go to piano class tomorrow because the tutor suggested to me to do the "bengkel" class in which I agreed. Oops. Will do that next week, not tomorrow.

Oh, yeah. Last week, Ms Chong asked me if I did my practice.. I was playing the song I said too cheery for me to play. I answered yes because I did practised that song a day earlier, when my mum was watching a show I hate in the night. *sigh*

I really need to set my priorities correctly.

But, the thing is...
I'll just say this shamelessly. I know I'm a smart person but I'm also very lazy. It's always 0 or 100 for me. If I started on a project early I could finish it faster than anyone else but when I did it last minute... I may be the last person to hand it in.

*Stupid, stupid bad habits*

That's one more thing to change about myself.

---

I finished "Emma" a few days ago. Finally. I started on Feb 23rd... and it took me one month to finish reading it. Luckily I don't hate Emma. I'm neutral to the title character. Till the end, I'm still loving Mr Knightley!

But...
I'm sorry to say this but the story didn't really work for me. I mean, I don't find it as romantic as "Pride and Prejudice", not that exciting like "Northanger Abbey" either... I even seem to prefer "Sense and Sensibility" to this...

Well. Not all people like the same thing. People look for different things in books.

I haven't read all Jane Austen books yet, but "Pride and Prejudice" is still my favourite, followed by "Northanger Abbey", "Sense and Sensibility" and "Emma".

---

Erm... One more thing.

Have I said it here that I'm a big fan of "Camp Rock"? (To myself: How old are you anyway?) I already tried to avoid liking anything new... but I can't prevent myself from liking Camp Rock, Demi Lovato... and Joe Jonas...

If you look at my last.fm profile, Jonas Brothers has taken over NEWS in my "Top Artists" chart!

Which may explain why I wasn't bothered (why should I be?) at all when Mel-chan fell in love with Yamapi. *Sorry, Mel! I have to say that here.*

Haha.

This is only a fever/crush or.. something. It will go away, eventually. I hope. Or not... I think my NEWS fever will be back because they are going to have a new single this month! Koi no ABO! What a title! But I can't wait, anyway!

Obviously someone is in a good mood today.

More online quizzes...

Did this on quizilla (I think) which doesn't exist anymore...?

Oh, gosh. I got Elizabeth Bennet! (I love her! Okay. That was after I watched Jennifer Ehle's performance...)

It looks like I survived reading "Sense and Sensibility"! I've said before that I didn't finish reading it in the past. Does it show anything about my own character that I love Elinor more than Marianne?

And the last one...

Sophie! I love her too!

KL Trip : Taxi & Books

Posted in: 2008 posts | blog images | Books | Cringy Teenage Years | Family | Interest | Life | Me. | Self-talk | Shopping Bag

Leaving aside the matters from the previous post for a while...

Here I am... in KL. This is our family's choice of end-year vacation for this year.
Yeah. For people who from KK who always travel there, this is nothing new. But for our family, it is. At least, mostly, to my siblings. We are only an average family - we can't afford to travel overseas.

I had mixed feelings on the day we were to leave Sabah. I'm going to miss my cats, I'm going to miss watching several TV programmes... Most importantly, I'm going to miss 4 days of piano practice. Hmmm...

Oh well... Tomorrow we'll be returning to Sabah (ureshii!). Our flight is around 4am so we'll have to be at the airport very early. We'll reach KK around 6am, return home and get ready to go to church. I do wonder how exhausted we will be when we show up at the church...

Anyway, this post isn't going to be entirely about 5W+1H questions... What or where we'd eaten. I'm bad at describing that. I just want to write[type] down some things that caught my attention.

Following will be an encounter of someone not familiar with KL.
|
|
|
V
Taxi... I remembered a couple years ago how [disadvantagedly] my mum and I fell prey to tout(s) (they also call them ulat = slug, I think) at the KLIA airport. They brought us to a comfy car (can't remember what type) then drop us off at a petrol station where we'll have to take the normal cab. At that point, I've grown slightly suspicious of these people (they are *ehem* b-u~m_i@s) but as it was surprisingly hot that day, I only think of reaching Melaka as soon as possible. Didn't think much about it.

But, actually, you have to care and think much about taxi fares. My family don't use taxi much in Sabah because we have a car. The only time we need it is when my dad's not home (out station) or the car sent to the "workshop" (should be garage)... My mum usually straight-away asks how much to _________? The taxi doesn't use the meter thingy at all... and I'm not even sure if it has one...

Ermm. Back to the topic.

We met another one. After traveling on foot to Suria KLCC (I never imagine it to be this huge and so crowded!) we decided we want to return to the hotel with taxi. As we consist of 5 person, we should be on two taxis. Then this taxi driver said he'll sent us all in his taxi with a special price and he'll take responsibility if anything happen (What can happen? I'm curious.) Then this driver turned out to be a Sabahan! From Sandakan. With his erm... [semenanjung] slang, I thought he has been in KL for at least a year. But, no~ he's here for 6 months already! Wow. A person who can change this fast must be a really opportunistic creature. His character has been decided - he is a taxi sagishi.. haha.. I'm glad my dad didn't call him the next day to bring us to the zoo.

Today we did met two nice taxi drivers. The chinese one talked a lot about many things. He said he had been in Sabah before. And from his conversation with my mum, he seems like someone who paid attention to happenings in Sabah/Sarawak... but it might also be because he read newspaper a lot. Hmm. I was surprised when he suddenly exclaimed (he raised his voice) something about the zoo in Singapore.

The indian taxi driver we met on the way back to the hotel from Mid Valley also talked a lot. He and my mum talked (or should I say discussed?) mostly about politics. This uncle seems to have strong opinions on some politicians and "people up there".

I'm not saying that the *ehem*.... are bad, opportunistic taxi drivers... but so far this is what I'd seen and experienced... Imagine paying RM 50 for a trip that will just be around RM 20 if you are on a taxi with meter (thingy. I don't know what they call it in english). I don't know you, but I'll be angry with myself for being fool enough to be swindled. I can buy a book at Kinokuniya with RM 30!

Speaking of books... I finally "met" Kinokuniya! I've brought several books from them online and I love how fast they get my books ready - The fastest I received the book was the next day after my order was confirmed!

I love Kinokuniya! I can be there all day. If only I have the cash...

Since recently, books have been my big weakness. I want to buy books I want to read, books I think good to read, books I'm not sure if I'll read... and books I'd read with beautiful covers (lol)... People say "Don't judge a book by its cover." I have my own saying derived from that: "Only judge a book by its cover when you already read it."

I also went to Mid Valley's MPH bookstore. The feeling was almost the same when I was at Kinokuniya but lesser. There's book everywhere. I feel like I'm in a book heaven! If only they open at the 1Borneo... *smiles dreamily*

~ Finally own a Lat/NST 2009 calender (from Kinokuniya). Can't find this anywhere in Sabah (or maybe it's only me who missed it). Lazy to order via post too...
~ The other pic is my MPH shopping bag. A piano score (book) and some notebooks. Nothing special.

~ And... my Kinokuniya shopping bag.

The 3rd Class...?

Posted in: 2008 posts | Cringy Teenage Years | Interest | Life | Personal Thoughts

Today, I had my 3rd trial exam. The questions on the papers were all so similar that I've started to forget what is what. It must had been some kind of "Jamais vu".

The first two classes made me nervous for no particular reason. But today's nervous-ness was the kind where you feel nervous while anticipating something good to happen to you.

I won't deny that I enjoy my [music theory] trial exams. I won't let myself pressurized by the "get 100%" thing (I think I was too harsh in speaking about it as an obssession in the previous post. I take back what I said before. It doesn't hurt to have a dream... or several of them...)... although I do find myself kept rubbing to get a sharp or flat sign perfectly drawn. This I blame my monk side.

Anyway. I'm glad I re-enrol to my music school. I made a stupid decision at that time. I quitted before I even started anything. This was the only thing that I ever regretted about in my whole life. Then opportunity came: My sister wanted to attend guitar classes. As we were browsing for a suitable music school for her, the idea of all three of us attending piano classes just came out from I-don't-know-where. My mum has a friend at church that knows how to play the piano and that helped her to self-learnt (I think) playing guitar. I must be the only one who's completely happy with the piano because my siblings obviously adore guitar very much & don't give a damn about the piano. Now and then, they would either lament verbally that this wasn't their [1st] choice... or physically by showing a sour face on the day of our piano lessons. I really hate that moments... I can feel their resentfulness and it always makes me feel down during my piano classes.

Isn't if funny that I wish to pursue this skill at an age of twenty?
Isn't it too late?

"It's never too late to learn something new!"
(Lame but very accurate.)

Book Frenzy

Posted in: ~Wednesday Posts | 2008 posts | Books | Cringy Teenage Years | Diana Wynne Jones | Interest | Life

I started reading books again a few months ago. I don't mean it as I've never read books during my form 6 days - only that, I scarcely read any fiction books at that time.

I have many unread books in my bookshelf. Mostly are classic novels... I've become fond of classic ones since I read Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë in Form 5 and been buying classic novels whenever I have money.. I've read Wuthering Heights but don't have much thoughts about it.

*sigh* I've forgotten how much reading books can be exciting and addicting. Surprisingly, I found it more fun than watching serial dramas because it's all happening in my mind - I can pick or create any cast I like according to my preference. It's a very peculiar (in a good way) experience to me actually. There are times I have to hold myself from continue reading because I want to keep it for tomorrow... but at the same time, dying to know what happened next.

Hehe... recently I'm into Diana Wynne Jones (DWJ) books once again. Hmmm. I've started reading her books while I was in form 2. There were plenty of them in the school library. Now to think of it - I am glad the library teacher bought them. I think I started off with "Charmed Life"... and I love it. It's one of my favourite for the Chrestomanci series. I did try reading "Howl's Moving Castle" but I returned it to the library early and didn't bother to re-borrow because I thought it was boring in the beginning.

But, - oh, man - how wrong was I to think it's boring. I borrowed it once again in form 5 and determined to finish it. I regretted not reading it earlier, you know. I am permanently in love with it because of its characters. That's a very nice twist in Sophie's character. Come to think of it, most DWJ books are like that. You were given the impression of dull, normal, uninteresting etc characters in the beginning.. and then suddenly, as you read on, the story becomes more interesting and intriguing - and that's when it's hard to put the book down. You just must finish it on the spot.

The sequel to "Howl's Moving Castle", "Castle in the Air" didn't give much effect to me but I still find it enjoyable because most of the characters I like in "Howl's Moving Castle" are there. I can't wait for the latest sequel which will be out this year in June! Hmmm. I wish I can find a hardcover version locally.

I'm taking a break---

I stumbled upon this forum [Xia ri li de chun tian / spring in summer?]

There's supposed to be a picture at this point but apparently my old photobucket account is dead... (´゚д゚`).

The title is 夏日里的春天. [ Google? ]

Yeah, for sure, I had watched this serial earlier this year on TV2. Not quite like any other mainland china's serial drama. I think the actors/actresses are talented. Chun Tian (acted by Ma Su) appears very likeable to me. I love Gao Yuan's smile ---his acting was okay & he's my favourite male character in there. I'm glad that he ended up with Chun Tian. Si Du Nan was kinda cute. The others acting was alright but I hate Miao Ge's character, and the actress herself look so fake and 'confused' in my opinion. Overall, a pretty good serial - well, considering that this is china's serial.

Currently, NTV7 is airing 'The Flying Dagger' starring Julian Cheung and Ruby Lin. I was looking forward to this before 'Eternal Happiness' end its run. It is just plain funny that I get to watch Alec's female lead's in his latest serial on TV before watching their serial . Like last year, TV3 re-aired 'All About Eve' (Chae Rim was cute and young in here). BUT, I never realised that 'The Flying Dagger' is so boring!!!! The story drags...I don't care if I miss watching it....Ruby Lin was pretty in there acting as Choi Yu (don't know if this is right)....but..I like to see her acted as Choi Yu's mum more...Very glad it will end soon..it's almost 40 episodes....

Nowadays the chinese serials on TV (FYI I don't have Astro) are so full of untalented actors/actresses...Really piss me off le...

I would want to watch Ah-Ha and Monk again in TV3. & don't forget Happy Sunday--I must watch the one with Alec on TV! Secretly hoping that any channel (TV2, TV3, & NTV7) will telecast 'Love of the Aegean Sea' OR 'Warriors of the Yang Clan' OR 'Heavenly Sword Dragon Sabre 2003''!!! (Really envy the Singaporeans---Love of the Aegean Sea will be airing there soon!!)
