Suspect X

Posted in: 2022 posts | TV

Yup, confirmed that my memory is crap XD

I mean, it was more about it being vague than wrong.... I think?
(probably became vague because I was crying at the end)

Anyway... Tsutsumi-san definitely stole the show IMO! Like, the others were good too but every time he appears, I keep getting impressed by his performance.

Some details are different but it's pretty faithful to the book (maybe like 90-95%). Loved that. Definitely recommend watching it if you liked the book. Probably will be more fun to go through the experience like me: Watch movie → Read book → Watch movie again

Did notice that they tried harder to make Tsutsumi-san's character suspicious in the movie... I actually laughed a bit at that part involving climbing and snow because it's so obvious.

Inconvenient

Posted in: 2022 posts | TV

Done "repairing" the blanket! Oh gosh, that's one distraction off my mind.

Watched more movies while I did that. One of it was "The Hunt" which I find surprisingly interesting. I'm still pondering over what that was. It referenced Orwell's "Animal Farm" for some reason so I'm wondering if there's a deeper meaning to that. Quite enjoyed it though, to be honest.

I'm trying to get used to blogging via phone. It's frustatingly inconvenient at this moment *sigh*.

8 Hours

Posted in: 2021 posts | Forty Winks and More | Reading | TV

I slept more than 5 hours last night. Never thought that could happen again. Had dreams about school (I think it's a mix of primary and secondary schools). Don't remember much other than that theme.

⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰

Finished watching "The Nevers" today. It's one of the moments where I randomly decided to watch something. This was very interesting. Somewhat reminded me a bit of "Bungo Stray Dogs". Could do without the explicit scenes though, IMO. I really don't want to hear what they were doing urghh

⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰

Barely made progress at reading those three books. I've started getting sleepy at night (yay?) and I'm trying not to read (which can discourage that). Being sleepy is good.

DNF

Posted in: 2021 posts | Netflix | Reading | TV | Youtube

"Did Not Finish"

While the idea isn't new to me, I kind of just knew the meaning of DNF in the reading world this year. I still have problems doing that to books I don't enjoy reading... because if I don't finish it, I might never return to it in the future.

But I actually do this a lot to things I watch. Movies, TV shows.. drama series... anime.. youtube videos. Oh god it feels good to not continue doing something you don't enjoy anymore. Why waste time, right? Sometimes I just let them play in the background (sometimes I skim/FF etc) but not all can be done the same way.

Hopefully, I'll learn to apply the same attitude with reading books...
(There's also that 50-page rule thing that I can consider using)

Oh No It's Friday

Posted in: 2021 posts | Reading | TV | Twitter

Been using Tweetdeck more recently. I think it was when my house's internet wasn't working. It's surprisingly more low-speed-friendly than Twitter's homepage...? Took some time to get used to the UI. I especially like how I can see the timelines of multiple accounts in one place. Very useful if you manage many accounts. It also shows properly what's trending on Twitter.

Planned to finish "At Freddie's" today but got distracted by a Thai horror movie on TV... It was surprisingly nice although it felt more like rom-com with hints of horror lol. I kept expecting a bad ending (it usually ends that way) so I'm quite happy to be proved wrong (minor spoiler?) this time.

Last Minute Updates

Heard some disturbing news in the afternoon. Played the piano to distract myself from those thoughts.

*BIG SIGH*
⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰

Finished another book from the Kotenbu series. This is my favourite arc in the anime. The light novel became a favourite too. But... Mayaka is still annoying (SIGH) and I'm seeing a glimpse of the "rude" Chitanda (from the first book). Not too much but it's still weird.

⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰

On Palace: It has reached the part where Fourth Prince erm... changed.. so he's a bit more pleasant in recent episodes. Eighth Prince is still not so likeable to me.

Friday's Pain

Posted in: 2021 posts | Blog Prompts Jar | Reading | TV

Woke up with pain in the neck in the morning.

*SIGH*

I picked one prompt from my blog prompts jar and it said, "Last week's purchase." (LOL) Surprisingly, I don't have any purchases last week... so I decided to put the prompt back into the jar. So, not doing that today.

Haven't done much reading these few days. Maybe after this publishing post (hopefully).

Oh right, I mentioned "Scarlet Heart" yesterday and I probably will want to watch it anyway because I just recalled last night that Lin Gengxin was in it. *sigh* (Suddenly want to watch "Princess Agents" again but I dread Yan Xun & Chun Er scenes...haaaah)

This Tragic Drama

Posted in: 2021 posts | Dorama | My Dark Side | My Fangirl Side | Netflix | TV

After almost a year, I finally continue watching "Ashes of Love". I was dreading that one part (yeah I read the spoilers) so I postponed watching until... this year. Went back in with half the memories of the earlier 38 episodes. So it wasn't that painful. Feeling very protective of Xu Feng - everyone else is stupid, stupid, stupid. I was annoyed after that thing happened: I kept saying "It's your fault!" when certain characters appear or screaming "Stupid!" inside. But I still cried watching Episode 49-50.

This drama is a tragedy from the beginning.

Probably will never watch it if not for Deng Lun.
Xu Feng with ponytail is to die for.. more please

Oh yeah, my timing is good though.. I'm still in that 'making peace with your dark side' mood after BORDER. This drama has that kind of arc (I only care for Xu Feng!) and I look forward to watching it.

August 31st at random

Posted in: 2020 posts | Anime | Art Stuff | at random | Birthday | Gardening Stuff | Interest: Games | Interest: TV | Life | My Fangirl Side | Seiyuu Love | This Made My Day | TV

【 Gardening 】
You've heard the stories. The stuff people do during MCO, quarantine, isolation, lockdown etc... I didn't think I experience THAT much changes compared to last year but I confess.. I got bitten by the gardening bug this year haha. I don't consider myself a follower of fads but when I do, I get into it so bad. Now I seek for TV shows that feature plants and gardening and manga with gardening theme.. and I started getting interested in creating botanical paintings (which is fine with my being into art recently but still...)..

Actually, it's not really new to me because I grew catnip for my cats in 2017-18. They are still alive - one flowered twice this year - although I recently pruned them to like 1/3 of their original size. I also still have my aloe vera that was purchased in 2017 at the Asia City tamu. It almost died (along with my rosemary, who didn't make it RIP) but in the end it survived and gives me aloe vera babies (they are so cute!) since then. Probably have to move some of them to their own pots because they are getting cramped again in their pot.

I feel like I should include some photos at this point... but I'm quite nervous because I might jinx it. Maybe in the future?

Anyway, so yeah... gardening bug... now I'm browsing for seeds online instead of books and stationery (yay?) but seeds can be expensive too because of the shipping fees. Why seeds you ask? Because it's cheaper.. and I seldom go out anymore (hah!).. uhh.. Also, I'm interested in plants that might not be available in nurseries. I get seeds for fruits/vegetables that I want to eat, plants with blue/purple flowers (it's oddly specific but yeah), & aromatic/fragrant plants... I'm also interested in weird-looking ones.. and most succulents fall under this haha (want to get some lithops in the future).

【 Anime 】
I've been watching more anime recently and one of it is "A Destructive God Sits Next to Me". The anime is so chaotic!!  ...but honestly, it's just the kind of thing I'm into *almost makes me wonder why I took so long to watch it haha*. As I watched more episodes, I find myself relating so much to one of the characters, Tsukimiya, that I had to check if he's an xNTP.. I found one site that says he's an ENTP.. which just makes me smile..er..laugh more. No wonder!

I also re-watched the first 3 seasons of Natsume Yuujinchou and now catching up with the latest seasons that I haven't watched. Got reminded again how much I love the manga...

【 Youtube 】
Saw some "Fall Guys" playthrough recently and it made me want to play too! It's so weird how fast I got interested in it (apparently I skipped some of Pocky Sweets' videos of him playing it.. lol).. I'm already planning on buying it soon. I'll just tell myself it's a birthday present for me haha

Boring day.

TV
---

"War of In-Laws" - I can't remember what TVB drama I last watched... last year? Hmm. Anyway. I saw the 1st season of this on TV2 so.. of course, I wouldn't miss watching its sequel. I love the chemistry between Myolie Wu & Bosco Wong's characters in both series. The 2nd season ended yesterday on 8TV. The ending's a bit rushed I think but still good - at least for the main characters. Oh well.

"Glee" - Just saw a newer episode on Star World few hours ago.... This is one of few TV shows that I don't really love but I keep watching. I get it that some people are obsessed with Glee but I'm pretty sure I'm not one of them. I do love some characters (Mr Shue!) but I really, really, really hate Rachel. Worse, I think it's the actress that plays her that annoys me and not the character alone. I mean... one can easily hate Sue (the show's antagonist character) but I don't : I like her. Rachel is... well, whiny.

I love the latest developments on "House" and "Monk". It's the final season of Monk, so that's inevitable, I guess. But House... Dr House is getting better. Maybe it's too early to say that, but that's what I see now. I love seeing his friendship with Dr Wilson. As regard to Huddy.. hmm. I was a Huddy fan once. I changed my mind since I saw S4's "Frozen" episode, where Mira Sorvino played the 'patient of the week'. Though seem impossible, I would love seeing them together.

I miss watching Dr Sweets in "Bones".

April 15th at random

Posted in: 2009 posts | at random | Learning to Drive | Life | Me. | Personal Thoughts | Reviews | TV | Twitter

Exhilarating experience.

Started real driving lessons today.

I always wonder if the pedals are like the piano pedals.. Well, of course I'm aware that it's a totally different thing... The thing is: I thought it was hard when I first learn to use the piano pedal and I hated it - I cringed whenever I saw a song with pedal signs - but.. when I got used to it, I almost couldn't play without it! Anyway. I think that piano experience helped me a bit. Also, I thought I would have problems with clutch and changing gears but my main problem mostly was the steering wheel..haha... I have "lazy hands"! Will have lesson on this Friday again.

Funnily, I still can't picture myself as a driver. When the tutor asked me to sit in the driver's seat, I got on the seat and forgot to wear the safety belt. I know I wasn't supposed to look at the speedometer but I can't help it. I wanted to make sure I got the speed right for the gear I was using (they spoke about that a lot during the KPP). The highest I went was 30km/h (lol)... and I was driving around a neighbourhood in Taman Khidmat. There were a group of construction workers looking at us and I ignored their smiles.

Seriously, why do people smile when they see an L-plated car?

===

I made myself a Twitter account yesterday. I don't intend to put the link here [yet] because I'm still experimenting... Why did I do it? Hmmm... I just think it's useful for telling people you know about "What I'm doing now" kind of thing... But I haven't found anyone I know on Twitter yet. I was hoping that Ren-chan and Mel-chan would join... But I know they are extremely busy... (I'm the worst! I'm not working or studying!) I also tried using SMS... Not bad, RM0.20 per sms (I thought it was RM0.50). I actually seldom do SMS so I'm feeling quite generous with 20 cents. *smiles* Otherwise (if you think SMS is expensive), there's always the web way (or the mobile web way).

Oh yeah. I also think it's amusing to look back at what I'd tweeted (still getting used to twitter terms). It's like my own mini diary or journal. It's perfect for those who don't want to blog a long post (*winks at Mel-chan*) or don't bother to write little things (e.g. I'm watching...) in their diaries (like me). If I'm away from computer and internet connection, I can still micro-blog before blogging the real thing in my blog.

===

I want to do some blog-housekeeping this week!

===

"Boys Over Flowers" is getting on my nerves lately. When I watch "Hana Yori Dango" I always thought it has some kind of korean drama elements in it. Then, now you got the real korean drama materialized - it didn't quite work well for me. Sure, I love Jun-pyo.. (I've always like Tsukasa's character anyway).. but I found it hard to like Jan-di. Very hard. Ji-hu too. I only seem to like him when he has that Ken-zou haircut. The music wasn't that impressive either (I haaaatttee the "Paradise" song but surprisingly could accept "Lucky"). Of course, I'm going to watch the drama to the end anyway (you can't review a drama if you don't finish watching it). It's just that I can't help thinking if this wasn't because of the HYD story, I would have stop watching it in the middle. Hmmm...

===

A few years ago, I already watched "The Good Old Days". I have the opportunity to re-watch it now that NTV7 is airing it. I always have been amazed by Amy Chan's character, Sau Hau in there. Now I can safely say she's my favourite character in the drama. She is loyal, helpful, diligent, humble, innovative, smart, resourceful...the list goes on. I think I've subconsciously keep in mind all these years (since Primary School) wanting to be like her.

===

My review blog seem dead. I must be harsh to myself - Don't slack off!

R.I.P Kutner (House MD)

Posted in: # House MD | 2009 posts | Death | Interest | Personal Thoughts | TV

I read yesterday that Kutner died in the latest episode of House!
Yeah, I read House Spoilers all the time.

Oh, gosh... AXN just reached Eps 5.. I wonder if I could bear to watch him now... (I will pay attention more to his character from now on...)

I really love Kutner!

I thought I wouldn't cry until I saw the episode myself. But, tears just came out naturally when I visited the FOX site (or here). I think it was really good that they want the audience to learn something about depression from Kutner's death.

It's interesting to note that Omar Epps' character in ER also committed suicide. His character was overworked (if I remember it correctly) and Benton and Carter's attitude just made it worst. Kutner's death, however, wasn't something you've expected to happen.

**Actually the reason his character was killed off is this. (Congrats, Kal Penn!)

...wHeN tRaNsLaTed, It MeAnS --- 'My Bratty Princess' OR 'My Obstinate Princess' (Some fans at suyoupeng.com said this title is has more 'yi si' [meaning].... than "Diao Man Gong Zhu"... it sounded more like ~Alec's the main actor in the show! yay!.... haha...)

.: ChinesE NewS :. .: Chinese NewS at Alec's website :. .: TranslateD:.
Additional site---- .:Sina site--Ray LiU:. .: Muzi--Ray Liu :.

Latest news has it that there will be another actor from Hong Kong, Ray Liu, I never seen this actor before...

...& fans has started to be confused ... All complaints almost sound like this -- "Isn't Alec the main actor ma? Where does this Liu come from? Never heard it being mentioned in the past press conference before??" ...I'm also getting worried cos I can't stand watching those 30 episodes with Alec appearing only in few episodes...[side info: earlier it was said it is 150 episodes altogether...]

But another fan said.. "It couldn't be...because Jang Nara herself WANTS Alec to be her male lead..." -- She got a point there... so.... just wait for more news report-lah!

---------------------------------
Just finished watched 'Funny Wild Girl'--- this week's episodes is quite romantic ... Eun-hee's boss, Seo In-woo LIKES her and he does not hide his feelings... he make it clear that he will love her and wait till the day she has all her confidence back... In tommorow's episode, it seems she will be accepting him....hihi.... They quarrel a lot before falling in love with each other....

In Alec's new serial, I hope I will be seeing something like this ...haha.. imagine him quarrelling with Jang Nara....

I'm taking a break---

I stumbled upon this forum [Xia ri li de chun tian / spring in summer?]

There's supposed to be a picture at this point but apparently my old photobucket account is dead... (´゚д゚`).

The title is 夏日里的春天. [ Google? ]

Yeah, for sure, I had watched this serial earlier this year on TV2. Not quite like any other mainland china's serial drama. I think the actors/actresses are talented. Chun Tian (acted by Ma Su) appears very likeable to me. I love Gao Yuan's smile ---his acting was okay & he's my favourite male character in there. I'm glad that he ended up with Chun Tian. Si Du Nan was kinda cute. The others acting was alright but I hate Miao Ge's character, and the actress herself look so fake and 'confused' in my opinion. Overall, a pretty good serial - well, considering that this is china's serial.

Currently, NTV7 is airing 'The Flying Dagger' starring Julian Cheung and Ruby Lin. I was looking forward to this before 'Eternal Happiness' end its run. It is just plain funny that I get to watch Alec's female lead's in his latest serial on TV before watching their serial . Like last year, TV3 re-aired 'All About Eve' (Chae Rim was cute and young in here). BUT, I never realised that 'The Flying Dagger' is so boring!!!! The story drags...I don't care if I miss watching it....Ruby Lin was pretty in there acting as Choi Yu (don't know if this is right)....but..I like to see her acted as Choi Yu's mum more...Very glad it will end soon..it's almost 40 episodes....

Nowadays the chinese serials on TV (FYI I don't have Astro) are so full of untalented actors/actresses...Really piss me off le...

I would want to watch Ah-Ha and Monk again in TV3. & don't forget Happy Sunday--I must watch the one with Alec on TV! Secretly hoping that any channel (TV2, TV3, & NTV7) will telecast 'Love of the Aegean Sea' OR 'Warriors of the Yang Clan' OR 'Heavenly Sword Dragon Sabre 2003''!!! (Really envy the Singaporeans---Love of the Aegean Sea will be airing there soon!!)
