Not Anymore

Posted in: 2023 posts | blog images | Dorama | Learning Japanese Language | Ohno Satoshi 大野智 | Reading

Kind of regretting it now but... I've been re-reading my posts on D-Addicts and it's very cringe :P ahhh I don't want to see it anymore

One post (from Nov 2005) included this sentence:

...and that's one of the best before-after thing you can get in life (at least for me). I think I started self-learning the language 5 years after that, around the time I became an Ohno Satoshi fan XD

⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰

Not done with "The Silent Dead" yet but I really want to watch the series again (and there's even a new [reboot?] version??? I don't remember reading about that lol). Ah... I wanna see Kikuta again~~

No new book from the jar today.

Sekai Ichi Muzukashii Koi

Posted in: 2022 posts | Dorama | Interest: TV | Netflix | Ohno Satoshi 大野智

So... I continued watching "Sekai Ichi Muzukashii Koi" (titled "The Most Difficult Romance" on Netflix) with my mother. Now my throat is itchy because I laughed and screamed(?) too much last night XD. It's understandably cringy (but so on point for Samejima's character :P) and I can't help loving the characters after a few episodes in. Even Wada (though I'm still not trusting this guy as of now). Somewhat predictable plot but the characters development isn't really...? I was caught off-guard when they show Samejima meeting with that Chef Tanaka the second time. Was left thinking, "That's why he's a president... *impressed*" Just before he turn into the predictable stereotypical jerk boss, he does something that says differently (though his motives are sometimes questionable/far from being pure XD). He's not the only one. The other characters are not like I expected. Kinda like that. Makes them more realistic.

*sigh* Now I really want to watch "Maou" again. I wish that dorama is on Netflix (or any other doramas with Ohno in it)...

A Slow Journey

Posted in: 2021 posts | Art Stuff | Ohno Satoshi 大野智 | On This Day | Quotes | Tumblr

On This Day post!

Only one post from the past and it's from the year 2019. Quite recent. And it's about art.

And... I'm bringing that quote back here (from my Tumblr):
"Getting ‘stuck’ is a sign that you are trying to improve yourself. If you don’t struggle, you won’t find inspiration." -Yoshitomo Nara (answer to Ohno’s question on being ‘stuck’ in creating art)
It's actually from an article on musicjapanplus.jp but the site doesn't seem to exist anymore. There's an arama LJ post on that.

I still love that quote! It can apply to other things too, if you really think about it.

So it was kind of scary that some time in the middle of the year I suddenly had the urge to create art.
Yeah.. this was in 2019. I don't experience that urge that much this year but it's there. I still don't do it as often as I want.

I had that one moment where a voice inside me said, "I want to paint something." I didn't respond to that urge immediately though.
Didn't "hear" this "voice" much either. I think it's because I've allowed myself to go do it if I want? I don't know.

I'm...slowly getting there.
It's definitely a very slow journey :P

Songs for me in July

Posted in: 1st post | 2021 posts | Arashi 嵐 | blog images | Family | My Fangirl Side | Ohno Satoshi 大野智

OMG... Just saw on Twitter that Arashi will release several compilation albums (I assume streaming includes Spotify...?) on July 16th. Already saw the track lists and we have rare, unreleased(?), LE-only solo songs and B-side songs in those albums... I'M VERY EXCITED. My favourite Ohno solo song (Song for me) is included.

Anyway, back to reality. Yeah definitely don't want to do watercolour daily.. still has pain in the neck and headache since afternoon (am I dying?). Really not in the mood. But still, I want to try the fanart thing so maybe not-daily watercolour activity?

Want to finish reading Michael Crichton's "Prey" today but I don't know if I'll manage it with this pain here and there. *sigh* And I couldn't sleep last night because a juvenile Tokay gecko got into my room. It kept walking(?) towards my bed. Yesterday it was in my sister's room. In the end, it went near the window so I asked my father & sister's help (I can't deal with these reptiles) to chase it out the window.

Photo my sister took when it was in her room.
I saw a larger version (probably the parent?) in year 2019, so I know they are around. It looked like a small crocodile & apparently they eat stuff I don't like such as cockroaches, millipedes, centipedes, scorpions.. so... allies? (but I don't want it in my room)

(Edited minutes later)
I went to look if I still have it and found the photo I took in 2019.
Please excuse the dusty wire XD

First day of July and I'm already posting gloomy and whining about things... also, gecko photos lol

Very Obvious

Posted in: 2021 posts | About Studying | blog images | My Dark Side | My Fangirl Side | Ohno Satoshi 大野智 | On This Day

On This Day post!

Kind of. I rather not revisit one of the posts... I mean, I'll reread that post for today but I'm going to skip it.

I posted thrice in the past on June 25th! So amused by this actually. Like, wow, I was so busy in June, I had contents to write a blog post on... Oh well. One of it cringes me to no end so... *skipped*! (It's from 2006 btw)

2010 post was about me saying bye bye to my sister.
Do you think my coursemates & future coursemates mind if I ask them to e-mail me if they want to reach me instead of texting me? Selfish me.
Ah...I don't even want to text people at that time lol (although it's probably due to broken phone /I really don't remember). Texting is kind of rarer these days.. I don't particularly mind it anymore (I'm more "Don't call me" nowadays XD). Since you can do it for free depending on your telco plans. I used it frequently with one of my ex-colleagues to inform about his tasks in 2017-18. At that time, he still used the old nokia phone so he wasn't reachable using WhatsApp.

The most interesting part I wanted to talk about is this:

Totally forgot I would and could do that. I have some posts with questionable spammy traffic. Maybe I'll do something similar for those posts later. No one will even realise it happen except rss feed users because it will be reposted using the same date.

2011 post was a Saturday 9 post!

1. What has someone done unusual to make you feel their love?
[...] I forgot to bring a history reference book to school. The teacher was a scary one so I was afraid all the time before his class (in the noon I think). Two of my best friends that were sitting beside me each brought me a reference book they borrowed from someone else (at different times).
Oh, hello history-reference-book story. This is a very fond memory of mine during my PMR year. One of them is actually Mel-chan (who I always mention in this blog). The other is S-san, and we are currently not in contact with each other.

2. Do you own a smart phone? If yes, is it everything you wanted? If no, how seriously have you considered a purchase of the new smart phone?
Yes. It isn't perfect but it was what I wanted in the beginning. I've always been interested in machines/devices with touch screen since little.
This was when smart phone was just starting to become the norm. I'm crazy about anything with touch screens. Currently wishes to own an ebook reader although I know it's not priority (because I would still buy physical books).

3. Have you ever camped out to purchase something?
No.

4. What is your worst habit?
Procrastinating.
No changes there.

5. What is your best habit?
Able to catch on/pick up something (knowledge, information, change of atmosphere...) quickly *sometimes I lie :P*. I don't know if you can call this a habit but it's the only thing I like about myself, so let me call it my best habit for now. Sometimes it doesn't work well. Like for math.
This is still true today. I put "Fast Learner" in my resume. I'm kind of a monster at it, in both good and bad way. Yeah, this is not me bragging (hopefully it doesn't come across that way, wait, actually.. I don't really care if it's like that), it's just something I observed when I was at work 3 years ago. I'm not a nice person - I'm quite manipulative and calculative - I'll do what's needed to survive in a toxic workplace.

6. In your opinion, what is life's greatest mystery?
Ohno Satoshi. It's my life's greatest mystery.
Awww. Past-me, same. Still my life's greatest mystery. Knowing my personality, my ichiban should've been Sho or Nino. So, I still find it interesting that Ohno is my ichiban.

7. Are you one of those people who is constantly busy with projects, social outings, etc. or do you just like to lay low and stay home?
I generally don't like to go out (socializing?) unless it's family members (including relatives) or friends I'm close to. I always have something I want to do at home. My personal projects have no ends. I do like to travel or go on sightseeing trips though.
Kinda funny seeing this now, during this pandemic era(?). Actually, my answer will be pretty much the same 10 years later. Still feel the same about travels and sightseeing trips (I wanna see plants!).

8. Whether you're busy all the time or like to just chill, have you always been that way?
Have always been like this since ten years ago...
Wow, doesn't seem like I answered the question huh... ah but it might have been related to Q7. So... it will still have the same answer lol only it's now "twenty years ago"

9. Is there something you'd like to change about how you spend your time? If so, what is it? If not, why not?
Hmmm. I don't really want to change anything... except the time I spend for studying Math. I want to believe that the time spent to study ensures that I could develop interest in the subject, be more familiar with the subject and able to answer well in exams/tests. This is because when it involves subjects I don't really have genuine interest in it, I'm not convinced that I have studied properly. [...]
Urggh.. I still don't feel good about Math. Learning in primary and secondary schools were okay but when you get to the deeper stuff, there's no love anymore, only hate. Past-me, why would you ever think it's a good idea to study Math in uni???

Well, I might want to learn those advanced Math by my own time and pace (I've made peace with the subject just recently, it's one of the things I could learn during this #stayhome thingy). It's weird that I have a sudden crave for doing Math problems this year.

Is it obvious that I've not been out of my house for so long?

Of Old Posts & Old Fandoms

Posted in: 2019 posts | Arashi 嵐 | Learning French Language | Learning Japanese Language | My Fangirl Side | NaBloPoMo | Ohno Satoshi 大野智 | 蘇有朋

Draft from early 2019
One of the things I like about blogging and managing blogs is re-reading my old posts. They are basically my thoughts (at that time) being "recorded" online. And it feels so interesting to revisit them years later. It's usually "WHO ARE YOU??" for me but anyway they are still really interesting.

For example, this display of my dramatic side lol:

I CAN'T WORK WHEN I'M PRESSURIZED & I'M A PERSON WHO IS TOTALLY AFFECTED BY MOODS -from "Alec 苏有朋 VS Alex 苏友朋", posted on 12/Feb/2005

Mind you, I was a few months short of 17 years old at that time and I just started blogging.. Unfortunately, I'm still plagued by mood swings at present. I try to manage but yes, I still feel I have the problem. Sometimes I just feel too lazy to live.

Current day
So here's another draft post finally published today. I've been re-reading old posts again recently (because I was editing the labels and search description *just realised I can edit that too now*)... and as expected.

"WHO ARE YOU, PAST-ME?"

Haha. It really felt like re-reading my old diaries. Some of them I can recall and some surprise me "Eh that happened?"... and I'm a bit embarrassed of posts that showed my fangirl side XD. Hey! FYI, this blog survived at least three fandoms - I'm proud of those obsessive moments! I might not like them as much as I did before but I sometimes I revisit them. Sometimes. I think it's not an exaggeration that they shaped some part of me today. For example, my interest in foreign languages. Being a fan of Alec Su made me learn to understand Chinese and read Traditional Chinese (I'm bad at reading the simplified version). I don't have much chance to practise using them lately but I still watch chinese/taiwanese dramas... sometimes. And then later I became a fan of Ohno Satoshi & Arashi, which again made me learn to understand Japanese... Knowing how to read chinese helped me pick up kanji quite quickly (sometimes I will know the meaning before I know how to pronounce it). That was a big help to me nowadays because I play japanese mobile games daily.

My method of learning is haphazard but I enjoy using the skills now whenever it suits me. Used to buying chinese magazines from before, I'm not afraid to attempt-read japanese manga... it's easier nowadays because we have more resources to learn languages available online.

At this moment, I want to get better at French which I took up in University. Of course, at the same time I wish to expand my Japanese vocabularies and learn more Japanese grammar.

Don't you just love how this post turn from "re-reading old posts" into my adventures in learning foreign languages?

Urge to Create Art

Posted in: 2019 posts | Art Stuff | NaBloPoMo | Ohno Satoshi 大野智

Tumblr post of the day:
https://ruyanda.tumblr.com/post/7339950547/getting-stuck-is-a-sign-that-you-are-trying-to

Art. I've talked about it in several posts here. It's amusing that I don't have a label dedicated to it until today. I did some drawing & painting in high school. I mentioned before that Ohno Satoshi inspired me to return to that but I never did... go there, physically? So it was kind of scary that some time in the middle of the year I suddenly had the urge to create art. I did watched many art and craft related videos on Youtube since last year but it was only this year that it happened. I had that one moment where a voice inside me said, "I want to paint something." I didn't respond to that urge immediately though. I tried getting back to drawing gradually. I continued doing some of my doodles (you can see part of it used as my Twitter header). I painted something few months later, but not much.

I'm...slowly getting there.

Maybe one day I'll start sharing them here.

(T____T)

Posted in: 2019 posts | Arashi 嵐 | My Fangirl Side | No Mood | Ohno Satoshi 大野智

I was really, really shocked by the news last Sunday. At first, I saw it on Twitter so I was like "WHAT???"... Based on my understanding of one of the oricon article, I know that kanji isn't about disbanding/disbandment. I actually understood correctly that it was about having a break - hiatus.

Honestly, I couldn't understand what was happening. Even now, I don't think I've digest enough of what's happening and what's going to happen. At night, seeing the news about their press conference, I finally cried. When you have so many emotions happening at the same time, I think the only thing your brain can do is make you cry.

Please excuse my language/grammar/whatever in this post because I... sigh.. I really shouldn't be online because I see them everywhere. But I still want to seek for more news... reactions... whatever things related to.. I don't know.. to understand? Although what's not to understand? I actually expected it would happen. I don't want to say much.. but if you see and read about Ohno's feelings on being an idol in the early years, you kinda know it. So, the next day I realised I wasn't sad about Ohno (because he's finally going to take a break) but I am really, really sad if I don't see the five as Arashi anymore. Maybe it's the selfishness of a fan in me that's talking, but I can't imagine Arashi continuing their activities with one of them quitting.  *sniff sniff...I'm crying while I type post this so please bear with me...* I haven't watched the press conference yet but I've read & seen the articles/photos...  I AM SO GLAD THEY LET HIM TAKE A BREAK INSTEAD OF QUITTING. *sniff* Even without watching it myself, I felt their strong bond and support for their leader's decision.

If I were merely an Ohno fan, I probably wouldn't feel so sad about it. But along the way in 2010, I came to love Ohno and get to know him together with Arashi through so many things - I think it's inevitable that I became interested in the other members too. I've also fallen in love with Arashi.

I am an Ohno Satoshi fan. I am also an Arashi fan. And the news shook me to tears. It introduced the thought of Arashi not being Arashi anymore... and that makes me tear up every time I think about it.

Randomness 2019

Posted in: 2019 posts | Arashi 嵐 | No Mood | Nonsense | Ohno Satoshi 大野智 | Random-ness | Uta no Prince-sama

Few weeks into 2019, I'm hit with some past memories... - I guess you can say I'm reminiscing - since I... sigh... have time. I re-read my old blog posts and that already made me miss my own writing. Haha.. I say this every time I re-read posts but the feeling is still true to this day: It's like the past me is a different person. I can almost say I don't know her.

Also recently, I... *keeps rechecking words and phrases stuff that I should dedicate a post to it*... erm.. reconnected with my Arashi fan side... in a subdued way (since I can never get over my loss of 2 external HD worth of Arashi stuff *that still hurts to type*). Reading depressing news these past few days made me want to think "Do whatever that makes you happy". I still think that is an irresponsible phrase so I will interpret it with caution.

P/s: This gloominess is probably (partially) caused by hormones *bitter smile*... One good thing when it's near that time of the month is I get sensitive ears : I get to enjoy songs more than usual which can be a curse (because omg the amount of time in a day I put Jinguji Ren's 悪魔のKissは炎より激しく on repeat last year lol / *off topic* & seriously when will I get Perfect/Ultimate combo for Pro in Shining Live like this youtuber??)

Received these yesterday...
Both singles were great but at first listening, I love Breathless more than Calling.
Piano songbooks: Onitsuka Chihiro's songs (old ones but most are my favourites) & Arashi's "My Girl" single ("Tokei Jikake no Umbrella" piano solo included!).
I think I'm more happy to see those songbooks (haha).. It's hard to find Onitsuka Chihiro's piano scores nowadays - so glad that I managed to get it. And Tokei~! Yes, yes, yes! That was my main reason for purchasing Arashi's "My Girl" songbook ^_^

Speaking of books, I bought more books this year (my prediction was a bit off - I almost can't purchase Popcorn Live DVD today *sigh*)... oh and I used BB1M book vouchers to get these:

Textbooks! Both are for courses which I happened to like this semester. I love the lecturer for Mathematical Modelling - his lecture classes   make sense (he might just be the only person that could make me like Math again). I've always regard AI as an interesting subject... but.. the lecture classes bore me to death. Honestly, I was quite disappointed... it was a new lecturer (never went to her classes before)... I can't wait for the next lecturer's turn to enter class. She taught us "Data Compression" last semester, I love her teaching style (although one has to bear her painful tsukkomis to really enjoy her classes).

Anyway.. The cooking-related book is obviously for my cooking hobby XD.. & I picked "The Last Lecture" at random.. sounded like something I need to read right now (but I haven't started..so...)

Blog >>
Didn't update this blog for more than two months... ahh. I actually have 3 draft posts at this moment. Will post them sloooowly later... one by one...

Arashi >>
"Himitsu no Arashi-chan" will broadcast its final episode next week. I love HnA. Not only for Arashi but for the show itself (which mainly caters for female viewers)... There were times where it helped me like some actresses more (better understanding of their real life I guess)... and those episodes with Maou hair *dreamy*... Reading news about other members' solo shows makes me wonder what will happen to Ohno & Jun. Jun actually co-hosts some annual show so I guess I'm more worried about Ohno (lol).. Of course, I'm hoping for acting projects (nothing since KagiHeya! What are you doing Ohno??!)... but fishing show, art show/exhibition or solo album/concert sounds nice too, so yeah, please do something this year, Ohno-san! XD
... I'm also hoping that he'll star in this year's 24hr TV drama special...
p/s: Recommended SMAP-Arashi article of the day - here XD (makes me want to rewatch Arashi's appearance on Utaban again)

Blog meme from here.

Saturday  9: Ain't Too Proud to Beg

1. What was the last thing that you begged for?
I'll be honest : it's money. Selfish reasons. ...and I won't say what it was for here because it might jinx my chances of getting it :P

2. Have you ever lost a best friend after a fight?
Ah... I did... I think I did. Shame on me... can't really remember when & who though. But I re-connected with one of them when I started secondary school. (^_^)V

3. When was the last time you just wanted to be invisible?
Two semesters ago was the time I realised I'm not interested with what I'm studying now. That realization affected my studies quite a lot. I wasn't motivated in doing assignments, homework & midterm/final exam papers. So it wasn't really a surprise when I screwed up a group assignment for my Virtual Reality class. I really wanted to be invisible on the presentation day. I created my group's poster (on what we created) in a wrong way/format & the whole project wasn't done according to what the lecturer asked for (actually I didn't know it was supposed to be in such a way). I told my partner what I did wrong & somewhat we (or I?) ended up telling my lecturer the truth. We were asked to present anyway. I didn't realised that my partner went missing during preparation. Ah.. I think I had mix reactions at that moment. My partner didn't answer the phone when I called her. I almost wanted to cry when my other classmates gave their moral support. Was thinking something like "Is this situation this bad already?" I actually thought of running away too XD

Wow. I didn't think this answer will be long lol..

4. Which room of your home tends to be the messiest?
Ah... my room? It's hard not to notice because I spend most of my time in my room XD

5. You are to be locked in a room forever with a celebrity. You get to choose. Who do you pick?
Arashi! Better yet...Ohno Satoshi! Hope he didn't learn much about pick-locking for his dorama XD

6. Has someone ever left another person to be with you?
No.

7. What’s been kind of a drag for you lately?
Programming assignments.

8. How are you different from your (current or most recent) significant other?
Can't provide answer. Not applicable. XD

9. What is the most perverted thing someone has ever said to you?
I don't remember.

Yesterday's Happiness

Posted in: 2012 posts | Arashi 嵐 | Delayed Rebellious Phase (Cringeworthy) | Ohno Satoshi 大野智 | University: Anecdotes | University: Year 3

Yesterday was a great day.

Had midterm exam for Differential Equations in the afternoon... was dying to check Twitter about KagiHeya's press conference.

I might sound like a really bad student, but for the first time, I get to answer all questions for a midterm exam...  haha.. ...oh well, though I wasn't sure for one question (completely forgotten my notes :P)...

...and then suddenly there's an announcement of a replacement class for Friday to be held shortly after the midterm exam ended. At first I decided not to go - I even made promises to myself  that I will study harder for that class later - ... & before I knew it, I already sat in the lecture room XD. Man.. I'm so random. I don't even listen to myself anymore. Apparently, my practical subconscious mind has been busy lately huh.

Though...I sure am glad I attended the class. The lecturer was so busy, he only stopped for a while to give us tips on the upcoming midterm exam. Lucky~

While waiting for the lecturer to come, I checked on Twitter ...& was pleasantly surprised to read that "Face Down" is used as Ohno's dorama's theme song. (^^)V

Oh, happy day~

Let go...

Posted in: 2012 posts | Delayed Rebellious Phase (Cringeworthy) | Ohno Satoshi 大野智 | University: Final Year Project | University: Year 3

Few weeks left until the day the first episode of Kagi will be aired...! *excited*

SIGH.

For two weeks (or maybe three), I thought of doing something important every Wednesday (the class is held every Wednesday morning - I was always reminded of it). Yesterday, finally, I made the decision. Yes, yes, yes... I have every reasons I can think of to justify my actions. Why can't I continue if everyone else is doing fine?

I can't do it because I'm not "everyone else".

I can't do it because of what I am.

A practical, selfish perfectionist.

Gosh. I know it's not the time to take a luxurious option like this. But if I don't do this, I think... I think... I would not survive for other similar important things. I need to stay sane or I'll shut down & won't care about doing my best for my final exam/G5 piano exam.

... and. As expected, programming assignments/homework take a lot of my time this semester. What makes it worse is the fact that my programming skills aren't the best... I can spend hours (e.g 4 hours *true story*) on a problem & still I can't think of the solution. Recent programming assignment had me sleep-deprived & worried for the whole week. I'm very terrified of the class. I have even started having weird dreams & nightmares now.

As if it can't get worse... things escalated even more. I heard from my friend today that the supervisor I was hoping to get might not accept any students now. What a let-down. The lecturer sounded like she doesn't expect much from a Math major...  moreover, she is more into programming stuff... Of course, I'm aware of it... but I don't think I could fit in with other lecturers... or even other topics.

The only thing I can do now is do some online research on the topics I have interest in... before the semester ends... so that I can show her (or maybe other lecturers?)... & if necessary, beg her to accept me XD

This is how future looks like now...

YesAsia cancelled my order. They couldn't find the books I want. It's kind of disappointing (esp after that "Meikyuu" incident)... but I found another online store I can order from (hopefully they could find them this time). More than a week ago, I asked my mum to help me buy 「鍵のかかった部屋」from Kinokuniya though :P (coincidentally she was in KL the next day for a meeting after I got the cancellation e-mail for Kagi's novel). I think it was the last copy - LUCKY!~~~

(二)
Exams. Didn't take the exam for the class I took during semester break last Friday. A certificate will be awarded (during graduation) if one passes the exam. I didn't attend the first week of the class so being the practical me, I decided not to waste my time there. Stupid decision? Well, my choice, my life - deal with it. Besides, I have another skill-related exam that I care more about that I should be focusing on now (the exam is tomorrow). But of course, I'm truly grateful for the knowledge taught to me during holidays - it would really help me pass my CG courses & get a better understanding of the programming world (hopefully).

Super excited for Ohno's new dorama this coming April! His character reminded me a lot of Galileo's (enjoyed this dorama when I saw it first in 2007) Yukawa-sensei. Mystery/detective things & Sherlock-type characters have always been my cup of tea. :D I can't wait to see his interpretation of Enomoto Kei! Even though my vocabulary is still lacking, I might attempt to read the original novel because I'm too curious of the lead male & female characters' interaction~ ...& Toda Erika. Didn't watch her doramas that much but I used to think her expressions were natural in Code Blue (haven't finish this though :P). Somewhat a better actress than Aragaki (judging from Code Blue). I could have liked her as an actress! XD (though I don't really like her characters in Nobuta & HanaDan2)

Posted in: 2012 posts | at random | Delayed Rebellious Phase (Cringeworthy) | Life: Anecdotes | Ohno Satoshi 大野智 | Shopping Bag

This year is different. It's going to be different.

One new thing I did this year is opening a Paypal account.

It started from knowing that there are fans who sell the Limited editions (Japan version) of Arashi singles (obviously it's Arashi-related :P) on Livejournal. Of course, they are pricey... but I don't care if I could own the limited edition of "truth" & others that I couldn't purchase before... :D

Anyway. This knowledge led to doing many other new things. First I went to CIMB bank & converted my ATM card to the debit card + ATM card. Then I realised their debit card doesn't permit online transactions ("no-card-present transactions not allowed").. which means I can't link it to my Paypal account! Boo. Then I moved on to my Maybank account. All I had to do was to sign up for a Maybank2U account... & also register my mobile phone for the TAC thing. I don't know if this is necessary for using the debit card but I felt uncomfortable if my number is not registered because I got used to TAC when using CIMBclicks. Then, it's done. Linked the cherry card successfully to Paypal...

Somewhat.. typing all these here seems insecure. I didn't mention anything private, did I?

So... two days ago, before Ohno's Spring dorama was confirmed, I ordered the novel (lol) & paid using Paypal for the first time (paid more but it's an easy way to purchase things online when you don't own a credit card) on YesAsia. I also ordered Arashi's latest album "Beautiful World" 's songbook. ...I'm very satisfied with my order :P. Glad I ordered the novel earlier because now it's temporarily out of stock (hopefully they'll manage to find a copy for me). I'm guessing that the novel is back hot in demand now in Japan as it's going to be a dorama next season.

I can't wait for April to come!

Skipped morning class...

Posted in: 2012 posts | Delayed Rebellious Phase (Cringeworthy) | Nonsense | Ohno Satoshi 大野智 | University: Year 3

...because I was sick.

Afternoon class (CG) was... URGGH. Honestly, if I choose to exaggerate, dying would be easier than surviving this class. Good thing I dropped out from the class I went to yesterday because this CG class is definitely going to rob all the time I have for myself & maybe... my time for other subjects too. Fortunately I'm not taking both Dr A's classes (no way I'm taking VR again!!) this semester. I'm going to focus on this one & only non-Math subject without having the burden to think of any other similar computer/programming subjects... & die a slow death while I'm at it (had I mention that dying would be easier? Oh yeah, I did). If this doesn't kill me, I still have other three Math classes to torture me to death, if death is necessary.

Yes, yes! I'm nervous!
I don't think I can handle this class... but what to do? I must take this subject this semester..or it will interfere with my 1-year extension plan.

Met a coursemate (same batch) I haven't seen for a long time. At least I'm happy to know that I have a familiar face taking the same class.

And... Ohno has a new dorama this Spring.
A new dorama.
A new dorama.
A new dorama!!
A new dorama!!!!
A NEW DORAMA!!!!!

Posted in: # Kagi no Kakatta Heya | 2012 posts | Delayed Rebellious Phase (Cringeworthy) | Ohno Satoshi 大野智 | University | University: Year 3

Yesterday, I went to my first class of the semester...

...which I had to drop eventually because the timetable clashes with another class.

I'm still thinking really, what made my day felt so lousy yesterday?

Was it because I suddenly got a text message telling me that the exam for the class I took during holidays was TOMORROW?

But later on, I got another text from my friend saying it is postponed to next week. Rejoiced but it still didn't make me feel good.

Then it must be related to the class I just attended. Actually it's a repeat class but apparently the lecturer (a different one from my time) decided to split the class according to the programs the 1st year students are currently in. The program I'm in has a different timetable. I should be attending the Thursday class... unfortunately, I'll be taking another calculus class (Differential Equations) at the same time. The lecturer recommended to take the class next year instead of this semester. *suddenly had the urge to say bad things at this point* This is it, I think, the thing that polluted my day. Bleh. I guess I didn't like being given advice this way... it felt like I was being told off just because I'm repeating the class. It's a terrible feeling to have.

... after sleeping early because I was upset for hours before doing this post, I'm kind of amused with myself because I discussed with her wholly in English... I think it was the longest conversation in English I ever had in campus since I entered university.

Yes, I rarely speak English in my university life. Used to be a shy speaker ...but not anymore since Form 6 (I think). The thing is... er.. actually it's my own problem... & I'm sure this could be taken in a very different way... though generally it will come of as arrogant... the problem with me is, I rather speak in Malay if the other person is speaking broken English. Text messages are an exception though (& probably other written/type-written medium)... I usually text the way they text (because I presume that's their best way to convey & understand text messages).

I know. Even I think of myself arrogant when I realised this. My parents have been telling me to just speak away because at the same time I'll be doing the other person a favour...

...honestly, I still can't do it now.

This is the end of this post... but I while I'm here, I would like to do some pre-fangirling over Ohno's new Mon9 (fondly known as Getsu9/月9) dorama.

「鍵のかかった部屋」Kagi no Kakatta Heya (Locked Room)

FINALLY.

FINALLY!

What took him so long? :P

>Ohno-san, what took you so long???

But I have to admit that it's worth the wait. Gosh. It's the Mon9 slot dorama, people! I've been wanting him to get this slot since many other Johnny's artistes seem to get this slot so easily :P (Jun, twice). Not to mention, it's on FujiTV - yay for another leader-less VSA battle! Audience in Japan seems to watch TV real-time at days like Mon-Wed, which means higher viewership rating (which can bring to more Ohno doramas in the future)... This is almost like Maou again because it seems like some still have doubts about whether he could handle a Mon9 dorama.

It's actually not confirmed yet though... sort of. It's reported in a TV magazine (scans available since Monday) that is to be released today but there haven't been any newspaper reports available yet to verify the validity of the magazine report. Maybe today. Hopefully today.

Some minutes later...

I've seen it already. A scan of the newspaper report. What's left is the noise (online articles reporting the same thing, people tweeting their opinions) in the morning.

What I've been doing lately...

Posted in: 2012 posts | Delayed Rebellious Phase (Cringeworthy) | Ohno Satoshi 大野智 | University: Anecdotes | University: Year 3

I'm in a somewhat intensive programming class which helps prepare for a course I'm taking next semester. It's not even a sure thing yet if I could continue next semester :/... which made me feel worried in the beginning (oh. and I joined them a week late :P)... but in the end I just, well, put up with all the embarrassment (for what? is kind of complicated :P) I felt for myself & be in a "thick-skinned" mode to survive this. This week's class ended predictably with another group assignment.

Day 1(火) - Kind of worried about going to class. My friend (a coursemate in the same batch with me) was late. In class, while others are busy writing codes, I was taking my own sweet time installing the needed software :P...

Day 2(水) - Was in a situation similar to Nodame's Music History (or Appreciation?) class in the Paris SP. Clueless as to what should be done & what I did wrong (which was because of a mere semi-colon missing *huh*). If I care very much, I think I would be crying depressingly already.

Day 3(木)- Class started late in the afternoon. Made use of the extra time to complete yesterday's assignment... which was kind of fun once you figured out how to use the codes. I think Dr A kind of doubt I created it myself (I did expect this to happen though) but not really in a bad way... He was saying things like, "See...You can do it if you just work a little harder..." .. though what came to mind when I heard this was if he knew that I'm really a lazy, procrastinating person.. honestly, I felt caught red-handed :D. He even said "...You have to graduate this year!" I laughed inside because that would definitely not be this year... unless he meant something else? (like I didn't reach the 2.0 mark...? 怖いな.... )

Day 4(金)- Good day. I didn't miss much... but I'm kind of out of focus all day because I lacked sleep the days before.

These days were... what was it.. I felt like I'm being tested, you know... whether I should be allowed to continue my studies or not... because Dr A is our new head programme... & he already knows about our exam results..

Maybe I'm being oversensitive...

Anyway... I'm just figuring this out quite slowly - this programming stuff - I catch up with things eventually though it's a bit slower.. BUT I really, really intend to learn this properly... & because I know I learn things this way better, it has to be according to my own pace.. so I shouldn't feel left behind if I just understood yesterday's lesson today.

Though it might be kind of sad to hear that I'm being quite optimistic (or maybe extra positive pessimistic) now because I have really high hopes for a new dorama with Ohno next season (rumoured to be a Mon9 or Tues9 dorama *good timeslots IMO*:D) . Hehe.

I'm not changed at all.

Still an Ohno & Arashi fan.

Great Day &「もう誘拐なんてしない」

Posted in: 2011 posts | Delayed Rebellious Phase (Cringeworthy) | Dorama | Learning Japanese Language | Ohno Satoshi 大野智 | University: Year 3

edit Dec 7th 2011 :
I did something like a progress post on "Mou Yuukai nante Shinai" in my other blog. If you're interested, visit the "Mou Yuukai nante Shinai" progress post here :)
----------------------

Today is a really GREAT day!

Had a group presentation instead during tutorial class... My group were worried & nervous because we just finished doing everything (report & presentation slides) yesterday! Last minute work, of course... Anyway.. working with this group was relaxing! Though we didn't hold any meetings for our assignment, everyone (or most of them..I hope) was very understanding of the situation and just do what we could do... no yelling, crying, pushing or anything that gives out negative vibes!

We even had the time to talk about unrelated things XD.. One of the members is my junior. She saw me once at my music school (dunno when) so there's a brief conversation for topic like "Oh, you take music classes? What instrument do you play?" LOL Small, random conversations makes me happy

That's not the only thing that made this day a GREAT day. In fact, it was already decided early on that it's a GREAT day when I read about the news of Ohno's New Year Dorama SP....!!!
『もう誘拐なんてしない』 [Mou Yuukai Nante Shinai]

Yes. It's compulsory for me to blog about this not only on my LJ, but here and also my review blog XD.

It's not a full-length dorama... but these points here are enough to convince me that it will be a worthwhile dorama SP.
  • Adapted from a novel (2008) by the same bestselling author of "Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato de", Higashikawa Tokuya
  • Renowned list of casts : Sato Ryuta, Narimiya Hiroki, Kanjiya Shihori, Takahashi Katsumi, Kitaoji Kinya (just typing back what's put in the article lol.. )
  • Ohno Satoshi. oh lol this is very obvious... but as I've been waiting for a new dorama (=character) of him for over a year, this is good enough for me already! It's time to leave the Kaibutsu-kun persona behind! (The character's description reminded me of UtaOni's Kenta-kun though...maybe a happier version of Yano Kenta?)
What I love about the announcement article (there were various sites reporting on this) was this:
They emphasized that Ohno was the only one who could play this role amongst other actors in his generation. (link)
or... (I love reading the "offered" part in the original news XD)
「...この難しい役を演じることができるのは、同世代の俳優の中で、大野智さんしかいない、とオファーしました」 (link)

In TS3 terms, this happy event gave a me a positive moodlet that  will last about a week XD

Now... I'll go back to studying for "Discrete Math" & "Linear Algebra"'s mid-term exams that are  going to happen this Thursday and Friday... I'm surprised that I even care to study XD
