This dorama was very popular at D-A last year but I didn't DL & watch it till this year--- The version I'm watching is the one subbed by TV-Nihon.
Before watching I thought it would just be a plain beauty-and-the-beast (or like Jinkama-san said,"An otaku & princess") story. I was really interested with "Densha Otoko" after reading that it was based on a real story (someone really posted on the message board in Japan, asking for dating advice.... etc!) & that made me assume that the plot would be about an otaku trying change himself to win a [pretty] girl's heart which would of course involved the word "lie".
But the plot wasn't all focusing on these two.
What attracted me most about the plot is the thing Yamada Tsuyoshi has gone through to realized his wish \\\"I want to fall in love"///. You can really see & feel the changes his character had as the story goes on. Changing your current mindset & way of thinking to sth you never have/do before so that it will fit your dreams/wishs requirements...is not easy.. really.. it's very not easy. aii... there were several eps that made me cry.. The story can make you laugh but it can also make you cry at the same time..
p/s: wow... I saw some familiar faces in "Densha Otoko".. Gokusen's Uchiyama, Gokusen 2's Tsuchiya, Nobuta wo Produce's Nobuko.....lol.. & isn't the drunk man in the train Jiro-nisan's couch?...
