Tried using the "Same Day Delivery" shipping option on Shopee some time ago... and I should've guessed it, but it's actually just ShopeeFood rider getting your stuff and delivering them to you. Which is a fine alternative really but the problem is I never used ShopeeFood before so apparently the address they see(?) is different from the shipping address I always use? You have to pin and point on a map and adjust as needed. "Okay, fine, I'll just do this one time" was what I thought at that time but today I realised editing that somehow(?!) affected my shipping address...??? Why the heck would that happen??? It's a miracle that my stuff actually arrived! Usually, the delivery people always complain the address doesn't exist at the postcode region they went to. I edited the shipping address again but I have a feeling if I use the same day option again the same thing will happen again😑 

Unfortunately, it's just like my post in May. I always find myself waking up with sweaty shirt. There were rainy and windy days, sure, but very few.

I guess this one complaint is the only one that ends happily (for now?). Early to mid July (ooh there's a post), there were days we either get low pressure water or no water at all. And then last week, the water suddenly have higher pressure than the usual. We don't even have to use the water tank during the day. Then I saw from Reddit (lol) that it's most probably because we're finally getting more water... which explains the whole disruptions we've been having this month. We are actually lucky though. Some places have it worse, their water is muddy...

Barely started the new main story quest so I'm trying to avoid seeing spoilers on Reddit & Youtube. I was trying to get into the story last night but our cat decided to climb on the roof (second floor level, not the top) and couldn't get down. He was coaxed down several times from below/top of ladder but he still refused to go down.  Like, seriously... had to go through the mess in my room to get him in through my room windows. I very much dislike this method because my room windows I basically off-limits for years... I haven't open them much because they are hard to open and I don't want cats in my room because I get the itches. Which was what I exactly get from last night. Oooof... so obviously, I'm still annoyed even after waking up today. Doesn't help that today is hot and hazy... Cat is currently not allowed to go outside anymore because what's the point if you're just going to get "locked out" at awkward heights?                       

Yup, very much still kind of in a reading slump... which I've embraced fully(?) as mood reading. Like, it's not I stopped reading completely... I still read just not much as before. It's almost like a dormant period of some sort lol - everything is happening in slow motion XD

Unfortunately (and humorously, I must add), the reading situation makes my journey of reading books at the place I pick flowers more noticeable. It probably didn't help that the first book I finished this year is "The Giant Bathroom Reader" lol (mentioned in a post from October 2023). Honestly, that's a book that really lives up to its title. It's full of short and brief paragraphs... and most of the time with gory and gross details, definitely not something you want to read while eating a meal. 

Reading ≠ Buying Books
It's kind of hard to describe but nowadays I'm very sceptic and pessimistic of books with nice covers and synopses. But at the same time, if it's something I do have interest in, I just want to get it so that I have it ready when I want to read it. Definitely not a healthy way to do it but I do more side-eyeing these days so it balances out in the end...?

Honestly, I've been skipping more and more reading videos recently due to my reading slump/mood. If I don't skip, then they'll be videos I put on the background (and it remains uncertain if I'm able to listen to it properly or not). Most of the time I became sceptic and think "Was it really good though?". Sometimes books hauls are just another yapfest - I wish some of them just skip the synopses (or do a more brief synopsis)... Also, I still have problems with voices (just like back in February) so I usually DNF those videos as soon as I feel irritated. 

It should be obvious at this point that the future is dim XD. I probably will focus more on series that I do love and a few of the ones I'm interested in (yeah, reading is slumping but curiosity stays on, totally unrelated). Reading will be slow and sporadic.

I'm still mad about it but I do have some updates...

• To get my money back, I had to fill a dispute form, scan it and e-mail to the bank. I did that on that day (11/26). Today I got them back... Took almost two weeks, I guess? Just a day short to full two weeks.

• I e-mailed Kino about the payment problem. I ended up making another similar order because early this month they had a 20% discount sale for their members. The previous order hasn't been cancelled as of today. I'm guessing they are going to wait for the "card rejected" status (?) to initiate cancellation...? They sound very busy. Hopefully they don't get confused lol

Sometimes I see people on Reddit saying their weapon is at R0 and I was like, hmm? But the lowest (the first copy you get) is supposed to be Rank 1.. so shouldn't it be called R1? Is R0 supposed to refer to a similar weapon with lesser stars or something? 

I'm guessing that it's probably a familiar term used in other similar popular games, which I can't relate to lol ('cos all the gacha games I played in the past are of the niche kind).

Had to go out to the bank to get a new ATM debit card made because someone* in KL used my debit card for a Grab transaction (no idea what). I guess you would think it isn't much (see title, that's the amount) but the troubles it's giving me is so much more than that.

Gaaaahhhhh I'm so mad right now!!! Currently, I have an ongoing Kino order that used the old debit card that I most probably have to cancel... it was supposed to be a good deal - it was purchased during their 15% discount sale and I also used my RM15 voucher - and that will now mean nothing because that idiot decided to mess with my day (and it's Ohno Satoshi's birthday, of all days! Which means I might remember this every year because it's on his birthday F*ck).

So, so mad!!!! Since it's not time to replace my card yet, I also had to pay RM12... Such unnecessary expense! Just because of that idiot!! F*CK

Didn't expect to post about another book haul (lol) before October ends because I used sea shipping for the delivery method. The estimated arrival time was early November. 
Been using sea shipping method on Shopee more these past few months because it's cheaper. Usually it's not that urgent anyway so I don't mind waiting a month or more for them to reach home :P

"Mickey 7" - Saw the "Mickey 17" trailer as an ad on Youtube and got curious about the story XD. Realised it was based on a book so...

The weather has been lacking of sun recently. Sometimes it gets me worried because parcel deliveries during these rainy days can get very weird. Had one experience last month with a Shopee order where it's marked delivered in the app. Since the weather was bad at that time, I gave it a few days to wait for them (KEX. ABX?) to deliver but didn't receive anything. Had to request for a refund on Shopee before the guarantee thing ends. I'm guessing they forgot to deliver it... *sigh*

Had similar experience with the PosLaju parcels received today. Marked as delivered when I checked their status last night... BUT they delivered them today (which, thankfully, has been sunny so far). 

Also got "Austentatious" along with this. It's a set of cards of Jane Austen characters with "life lessons"...

I cancelled it today.

It kept being delayed every month and it was getting ridiculous because it will be almost one year next month lol

Actually, it wasn't that easy to cancel it because the book was part of an order with a multi-item promotion. I had to chat with the customer support person to get them to cancel it (it was more like it got "deleted" from the order). Hah... Maybe... that's why they can't cancel it from their side. I had to initiate it first. 

Since I'm still interested in the book (which was why I checked on the delivery status again recently), I decided to get it from Kino back again. It was out of stock last year... lucky me, it's back in stock this year~ 

I do have a RM10 coupon that's expiring today... and they have a sale starting today:

I guess it's just the usual(?) reading slumps...? Although I am feeling a bit more mean in my head recently so that might has some kind of effects or something. I couldn't stand watching some videos on books/reading on Youtube so I've been DNFing them (the only times I like to use the term lol). I kid you not, mean-me was thinking how pretentious some of them are. I was rolling my eyes mentally, physically, subconsciously, and at times, belatedly (as I question myself why am I even watching this lol). I must be in my dark thoughts era (or... it could just be PMS symptoms *sigh*. They are usually that).

Oh yeah. Decided to decrease my daily reading pages goal again by half. It's either 5 pages per day or 5 months (or more) of not/barely reading any physical books. Of course that's an exaggeration... but I'm pretty sure I'm capable of doing that. Well, it might still happen in the future...

Last month was a slow reading month. I felt it enough to want to make up(?) to it this month... Though I'm thinking of more of short books and easy(?) reads so hopefully I'll be able to that this month XD

I finally found the self-published book I've been wanting to get (because my dear beloved friend Mel :P got me engrossed with the story which was originally posted on Facebook) on Carousell! I consider it a small price to pay to get my curiosity satisfied. I don't even remember how the story went lol (I guess that means I have to read from the beginning again...)

Currently kind of obsessed with the game "Murder by Numbers"... more specifically the logic puzzles - nonograms - it's a fairly simple(?) game but it challenges my mind so much I just love doing them lol~ I usually play it with some Youtube videos I don't mind playing at the background.

Oh, right! I finally finished watching S2 of "The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent"... Yup, totally knew they would end at that part XD... It ended so beautifully though - I'm happy with Sei & Albert's couple development ♥

That said, I don't think I'm out of anime watching slump yet... I am still trying to catch up with "7th Time Loop" anime. Also kind of in the mood of re-watching "Last Boss Queen", maybe will do that after I finish reading Volume 5...

Volume 5 of "Last Boss Queen" is... bloody. I really love the character developments for some of the characters though. Tiara is a bad-ass with knives! ...and Cedric finally have something that impress me :P.. I didn't really know how to feel about his character in the previous volume but the development he went through caught my attention. Oh and we get some parts told from Tiara's POV (that's new!) which I hope to see more in the future~

I finally finished [re-]playing an old-time favourite game: "Ghostbusters: The Video Game". It still feels as good as before! I did get "stressed out" during one of the parts where you play solo though. I didn't realise until I got a headache due to stiff shoulders... wow that hasn't happened for so long since the last one. It usually too late when it happens. Anyway, instantly got some 20GB data back upon uninstalling the game :P (I need to finish more of the ones I got installed *sigh*)

Recently purchased some books from Kino. One of the books isn't in stock so I need to wait 3-4 weeks. Probably. Because today I just realised they had shipped out the ones that were in stock (I think I got the last copies because they went out of stock soon after I made the order). They never did that before. So either the other book will get cancelled or they'll just ship it later (which got me worried about the shipping cost...)

Hasn't been enjoying some contents on Youtube so I just instantly DNF them or not add them to my Watch Later playlist. I can't even be bothered to let them play in the background. Currently, that's the kind of mood I'm in.

Reading is... in relaxed mode, I guess? :P I'm totally just hitting the daily 10-pages goal now. 

I actually aim to read at least three books every month but I got only two books finished last month. It's almost a wonder that I didn't fall into full-mode reading slump lol. I guess part of it was because I truly enjoy those two books... although it did take me almost a month to finish "Death Notice". I realised midway that it wasn't a book I could finish in one (or few more) sittings... I had to like take a break from reading after at least one death in the story (there were quite a number of them T_T). I'm expecting this month to have more relaxed reading... sessions, though I'm not sure what that means for now. I guess, more moods-guided chosen books? XD


Thanks to my Youtube recommendations, I've gotten myself [almost] obsessed with jigsaw puzzles (Karen Puzzles, anyone? XD). I know. That's so random lol. Well, it's not like I don't have any interest in it before... I just had the impression that if I do one, I must glue them up and put in a frame or something. Somehow it never occur to me to just do one, dissemble them & put everything back in their original box... This realisation is kind of a dangerous one because I've started looking for them on Shopee...

But today I'm glad that I could still make a good(?) decision, even when I'm in zombie mode... like purchasing a book before it got sold out in the afternoon! Well, I guess I should've expected that because it had two copies left before I checked out the order. 

Damn, was I the reason (the trigger? lol) that the last copy was gone after me??? Sometimes I do receive e-mails from BookXcess about the books I put in the cart ("Oops, the items in your cart are going fast!") Lol I even got one for the book today - I guess it got triggered as soon as I added it to the cart - so maybe someone also decided to get it fast before they lose their chance today. Or maybe they were also like me who suddenly decided recently, "Hey, I wanna read some H. P. Lovecraft stories. I never read one before, even though I've watched many game playthroughs that were inspired by his stories..."

I didn't really have many choices. A similarly-priced book on Shopee has less stories.. I did find the same book for a cheaper price there but I missed out on buying it 😓. They're either not in stock or too expensive on Kino. Oh well. 

To be honest, I do have some of his works on my Kindle but I kind of prefer having a physical book if we're dealing with short stories here. Short story collections seem to intimidate me more when they're in digital form 😭... it feels never-ending and takes longer than it should to finish them. The downside is I'm stuck with a large, fancy-looking book of short stories collection... I sure hope that I'm compatible with the writing style!... Yes, yes I know, I can check them online but I want it to be a surprise(?), and it's kind of a '0 or 100' thing - a 'don't read at all or read a lot of them' situation - so that's why we're at this point today~ 

Will this year be the year I'm finally reading more books from the horror genre???

♢ Made a Letterboxd account yesterday on random lol... I'm a bit surprised that the usual handle I use online ("ruyanda") is still available! Currently I'm trying to log all the movies I've watched (at least the one I remember watching lol) in the past there~ 

♢ I guess it is a month of window-shopping on Shopee XD... Now I'm looking at reading journals - there aren't much but they exist (and for sale!) on Shopee! Speaking of reading journals, I should probably update my months-abandoned reading journal *sigh*...

Still.. it's very unlike me. I don't usually seek out to read specifically horror books [anymore]. Like I read a little bit of this and that there, but it's not as often as I expect myself to be (as a horror stuff fan). Maybe because I'm currently reading "Battle Royale"...? Huh.

Anyway, the book I'm talking about is Stephen King's "It". It's very petty of me that I got "triggered" to buy a copy because I saw someone selling a pre-loved version at the same price with a new copy. And there's only one copy left (for the new one)... added with it being among the cheapest I could find on Shopee (around RM30, other list is over RM50)...  

Gah~ I ended up using the RM20 in my PayPal account to pay for Bookxcess' shipping! Can't help it... one of the books has only one copy left *sigh*

Just finished reading my first Seishi Yokomizo book (finally!). I started on book four lol since that's what I can get for cheap under RM20 on Amazon Kindle few months ago. Didn't really ruin the experience though... they did mention the Honjin case but nothing's spoiled (I think). Anyway, I'm [surprisingly] very mad about the motives so when I predicted the plot twist and it turned true, that gave me comfort(?)... still mad though.   


...and it happened! Again.. Still having a stuffy nose but as of today, I've lost my sense of smell. I did notice how I was less sensitive to certain smell yesterday - I can still smell strong ones but the weaker ones were barely there - so I guess it was already partially gone yesterday?

Anyway... yesterday I found some preloved books on Shopee. Kind of felt a bit silly that I purchased twice from the same seller in the same day. But, but...! I saved RM4 on shipping! And one of the free discounted shipping vouchers was limited to yesterday only so I don't think I miss out on anything :P
