So... yesterday I received a BBW parcel in the mail for books— "My Heart is a Chainsaw"... and yet another version of "Dracula". SIGH. I can't explain it. My reasons are it's hardcover and probably has larger text size (this is very important). It also might be pricier elsewhere. That's what I told myself but really... It's just that every time I see it, I'm reminded of how I kind of prefer "Dracula" to "Frankenstein" (not a fan of the writing style & Victor Frankenstein is annoying) and always have to check if it's a version worth buying so that I can reread it. The amount of efforts(?) I'm putting into this is so ridiculous especially considering "Dracula" isn't even a favourite LOL

The last time I blogged about the voice thing is in a July 2025 post. Yeah. It's getting worse this year. I just unsubscribed from a WuWa lore channel because I can't stand their voice. It's actually pretty normal-sounding but it's just the way they read that I find annoying. I don't like it, so I unsubbed. I really don't care anymore. This is a year of cutting out annoying things from my life.

I am "saved" by my flower-picking trips again because the first book I finished this year is from those trips. It's a book I found at Karamunsing in 2024. Unfortunately it's a 1.5 star read (rounded down to 1 on GR). I don't find it okay and I don't particularly hate it so 1.5 is just perfect. It's just a bit too boring. The characters are okay (it's a multiple POVs kind of book) but I hate the bride's POV and I won't deny, that's one of major reasons that ruined the book for me. Another is the multiple POVs format. I don't usually have problems with books that use that but here, it almost makes me want to hate the format. It makes the timeline confusing sometimes, like I still get it, but it's very distracting when you jump around them.

Anyway... it's going to be another year of mood reading. It might be more reading than last year but still moody :P

I've been seeing some discussions about the 3.0 main story quest which I find very interesting. I kinda arrived at the conclusion it's because they are still building the lore and world (and a bit experimenting), like they did in 1.0 and 2.0 but I guess people are comparing it to 2.0...? I just hope it's not a case of overglazing 2.0 because honestly that feeling they have now for 3.0? I think I had that during 2.0. It just got covered up by a big bang ending that is the carnevale. In the latest patch, it made me realised, "Ah.. so they're still building up the lore" like that literally means it's still cooking in the kitchen... it's the first chapter, you don't usually get the ending of the book in the first chapter. 

Oh well.

I'm just here for Rover. For me, the big main story is Rover's past and memories. The most important thing in the main story is Rover. I guess not many see it that way because it actually makes sense that some characters don't appear that much again because IT'S Rover's story. Why would the main focus of the main story moves somewhere else? 

[Wait... Ohhhh, so the segue arcs are for this... an alternate PoV... without involving the main story directly. Just like a peek behind the stage kind of thing.]

Yeah... I managed to get on (visit? board?) the Doulos Hope when it's in town. Had to make reservation online. Kind of fortunate that I was able to do that the night before for August 29th's... Amazingly, I only purchased one book which is another hardcover version of Jane Eyre. When will I ever read "Jane Eyre" and "Emma"? It has been 4 years XD.. what's funny is, at the moment I'm typing this post I'm considering reading them on my Kindle (because I can highlight them there and revisit them in one place on Goodreads). Well, it might be possible to do hybrid reading...

Anyway, I remember the date because when we returned to Jesselton Quay (we rode on a bus to go to the port where they docked), we saw a lorry on fire.

Received these books on September 26th... and I remember the date again because it's the day for Wuthering Waves 2.7 preview livestream XD

Lol didn't expect to make a debut for PGR label in this post... though I don't see myself posting about it as much as WuWa in the future because I'm very on-off with the game...

Although, I guess I can share my, ermmm, failure recently XD. Don't worry, it's still birthday-related. Had a birthday eve lunch outside at City Malls' Sushi King... honestly I've been missing eating kaiten sushi so finally had the courage(?) to do so this year. Yeah it's just the usual eating lunch stuff but... I made a mistake not double-checking our order (you do it from a tab/pad on the table) and we ended up with three bento boxes instead of only one XD. Damn, no wonder it (they?) arrived so late! Fortunately, packing them is an option... it would be more hassle for them but that's the only best option. I ended up eating them for yesterday's dinner and today's lunch. Nothing's wasted :)  

Almost didn't post anything today but since it's going to be the first post for the year (and month), I thought I should drop in a for a little bit.

End of 2024 was... Eh... pretty much a meh mix of almost everything. I find myself busy with family matters and it has made me tired since Dec 30th. Yeah, this year started with me in tired, muscles-are-sore mode. SIGH. It is necessary "trouble", I suppose, so I'll just close one eye and let everything happen. 

My younger sister got engaged yesterday... so those were among the things I say necessary "trouble" (and I meant that trouble from the troublesome way). The ceremony was done at our church. Met some new people and long-time-no-see relatives... hugs & handshakes (THE HORROR!) here and there. Like seriously, who the f*ck was I yesterday??? I refuse to acknowledge that "social butterfly"(?) personality. Of course I kind off exaggerated but I was certainly more social than usual (unfortunately).

Returned home. Got into a sneezing fit (and the almost-sneeze pain). Pretty sure that's an allergic reaction... so tragically, my 2024 ended with me suffering from being in the state of sneezing and almost-sneezing. My nose & cheeks hurt from the sneezing.

And since I procrastinate so much, I couldn't finish some things I planned(?) because I had to be elsewhere. I say this without being grudgeful - just stating them as is. Firstly, had to cut down the amount of books I wanted to read last year to 30 books. It's an easy decision because reading has been slumping for months lol. I even plan to do less reading this year... so no more daily reading goals this year for me!

Secondly, I couldn't finish some of the events in Wuthering Waves (for my alternate accounts) because I was just too damn tired (and sneezy). I was dozing off in the middle of an Illusive Realm fight haha

Oh well.

Couldn't get Yinlin's signature weapon for my main account *sad sigh*... she'll have to make do with Jinzhou Keeper R5 for now (until I can get the 5-star rectifier from the standard weapon banner). Gosh, she's so mean to me these few weeks... it's enough to scare me from pulling on sub-DPS/hybrid resonators (because I lost 50/50 on all of their banners) in the future. Maybe my main account only has luck with DPS and support ones :(

Good news is, I can get Carlotta's signature weapon instead (because I was seriously near to getting one *sigh*). It should be good for my Aalto (and Chixia can borrow it when I start building her). Perfect timing because I was thinking of getting another Static Mist for them to share...

Oh yeah, as of today, I'm done with farming the monkey's rock fist... just in time for 2.0! It should be easier to level up to 90 now that I already got them readied for everyone that needs it (well I still need shell credits and resonator xp but that's a problem for future-me XD).

Random info of the day! I just opened UtaPri Live Emotion app today because I know there'll be some personal birthday messages and look at what I just learned today! Apparently it's also Eiichi's birthday lol (I feel uncomfortable with his character for some reason so I never bothered learning HEAVENS members' birthdays)... I was like, "Why is Eiichi's giving me personalized birthday greetings after Tokiya???" (I missed the part where he was the one "thanking" me for being there for his birthday looool). Then I noticed his birthday mission is available for today haha

The thing is... I didn't plan to get her but since she's like a Phoenix (Vermillion, to be exact) so... *sigh* BUT my main account seem to have ran out of luck after getting Jinhsi so I dunno (I got another copy of Verina!!! I mean she's still important but....!)~~~ I will still try! I want to see her fight alongside Jinhsi...

My alternate accounts manage to get her though (one of them with her signature weapon!) so I guess, technically, I already got her...? (but I'm so jealous!!! I do want her in my main account too!)

Okay, my first alternate account (with male Rover) - let's call that account my 'Fenn account' (since that's the name I gave him lol) - managed to even get Lingyang along with Changli (I totally thought I lost my chance when Lingyang showed up haha)

My second alternate account (female Rover) - I'll call this my 'RuRu account' - is the one that has Changli and her signature weapon.

So... as of now, the only resonator I don't have is Yinlin. My main account has the biggest amount of 5-star resonators among the three. 

I know it might be quite hard but my far future wish is to learn how to use all of them in fights because the combat is so much fun in this game!

Oh yeah, it rained the next day after the post was published so I guess my post got an answer haha... It's still hot and humid though so there's no changes on that.

Reading (physically) is still slow... I'm barely making it to five pages daily.

Kind of had a marathon-watching session of "ShenLi" today~ They are both falling hard for each other :P... Now I'm in a new arc so this will be a lot more fun!!! Considering how I've already read the fan-translated novel, it's pretty amazing that I really don't remember much except for some major events haha (at least I know it's a happy ending). Also, I know it's not one, but I love thinking of this like an AU fanfic for "Princess Agents" with a bit changes to their characters' personality... 

Oh well~ it's not like there's much to update on anyway.

Last month was a slow reading month. I felt it enough to want to make up(?) to it this month... Though I'm thinking of more of short books and easy(?) reads so hopefully I'll be able to that this month XD

I finally found the self-published book I've been wanting to get (because my dear beloved friend Mel :P got me engrossed with the story which was originally posted on Facebook) on Carousell! I consider it a small price to pay to get my curiosity satisfied. I don't even remember how the story went lol (I guess that means I have to read from the beginning again...)

Currently kind of obsessed with the game "Murder by Numbers"... more specifically the logic puzzles - nonograms - it's a fairly simple(?) game but it challenges my mind so much I just love doing them lol~ I usually play it with some Youtube videos I don't mind playing at the background.

Oh, right! I finally finished watching S2 of "The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent"... Yup, totally knew they would end at that part XD... It ended so beautifully though - I'm happy with Sei & Albert's couple development ♥

That said, I don't think I'm out of anime watching slump yet... I am still trying to catch up with "7th Time Loop" anime. Also kind of in the mood of re-watching "Last Boss Queen", maybe will do that after I finish reading Volume 5...

Volume 5 of "Last Boss Queen" is... bloody. I really love the character developments for some of the characters though. Tiara is a bad-ass with knives! ...and Cedric finally have something that impress me :P.. I didn't really know how to feel about his character in the previous volume but the development he went through caught my attention. Oh and we get some parts told from Tiara's POV (that's new!) which I hope to see more in the future~

I actually aim to read at least three books every month but I got only two books finished last month. It's almost a wonder that I didn't fall into full-mode reading slump lol. I guess part of it was because I truly enjoy those two books... although it did take me almost a month to finish "Death Notice". I realised midway that it wasn't a book I could finish in one (or few more) sittings... I had to like take a break from reading after at least one death in the story (there were quite a number of them T_T). I'm expecting this month to have more relaxed reading... sessions, though I'm not sure what that means for now. I guess, more moods-guided chosen books? XD


Thanks to my Youtube recommendations, I've gotten myself [almost] obsessed with jigsaw puzzles (Karen Puzzles, anyone? XD). I know. That's so random lol. Well, it's not like I don't have any interest in it before... I just had the impression that if I do one, I must glue them up and put in a frame or something. Somehow it never occur to me to just do one, dissemble them & put everything back in their original box... This realisation is kind of a dangerous one because I've started looking for them on Shopee...

Oh! I guess I can talk about the books I've finished reading recently.

Finished "Leviathan Wakes" on Feb 27th~~~ Earlier than scheduled (I planned for it to be the whole month XD). I like it! It scratched that Mass Effect itch LOL... No wonder it's recommended for Mass Effect fans. Loved the writing style too! Honestly, I was wary of two-writer team (it's not like I've read a lot of them, but I really isn't impressed with the ones I did. There are only a few of them that I like and am okay with)... and I actually didn't know this was one :P so that made it even better after finding it out.

Also, just finished "Death Notice" like 20+ minutes ago (a few minutes after 11pm). Oooh I quite enjoyed the book... dunno why it somehow reminds me of "Maou" by the end. Only this time, you're mostly on the police's side. Honestly though, I'm more interested in Captain Pei's being the Sherlock (there aren't much but you see a bit of it here and there) than Eumenides' identity. Maybe I'll see more in the sequel?

I'm reading (re-reading, kind of) the 9th Volume of "The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent" light novel next. I think I have my fill of books with so many deaths this month~

Some updates!

Had a very restful sleep last night... but no dreams though. At least, not those that I can remember. I'm aware that I'm pretty much in a zombie mode so today's post might not be as coherent as I hope it would be. I'm not remembering much... (ooh.. that doesn't sound good at the start of the year lol)

I feel like I have some stuff I need to post to conclude(?) my 2023 so I might need a few more days to make sense of my thoughts... it's okay, I have time :P 

That probably means it will be a month full of reading affairs... or at least I will aim for it to be one. Actively. Hopefully very actively. 

The result(?) is... I've started shamelessly fangirling over Sei & Albert again :P~ It feels so different watching the first season after reading the light novels. I got a bit teary-eyed watching how we almost lost Albert in the first episode... that dramatic scene in the end coupled with the ending theme was per~fect ♥ 

One thing I noticed (or more like "confirmed"), Sei is actually more angry (in a passive-aggressive quiet way) about the whole summoning thing in the light novels/web novel. I don't think it's shown that much in the anime (which is fine either way really, doesn't take away the fun). There's the whole thing about her keeping mum about her status (which indicated clearly that she's the saint) and her reluctance to let other people appraise/see her status.

Another thing. After reading various manga/manhwa with saints in them, I think this series has one of the best treatment towards a saint (excluding that Prince Kyle, of course). They are very respectful towards her. This includes the king and his aides. 

Anyway... I'm fangirling over them again XD... Totally having fun seeing how smoothly Albert flirts with her and how Sei slowly falling in love with him~ ahhh & Albert's voice is so nice to listen to ♥

Anyway, a random anecdote of the day. Went to Bataras Kolombong today. There's a newly opened dimsum shop there. I couldn't stop thinking of their bao. The BBQ chicken bao is orange-coloured while the curry bao is pink-coloured... I feel like they should've switched the colours between those two...

It's a pretty uneventful birthday though... unless you count having no water supply as one of those events (I refuse). *sigh* It's unfortunate that it has to happen on this day.. I do hope it will be back tomorrow. At this moment, I'm not feeling the stress yet. Ignorance was a bliss yesterday - Did laundry (using water from the tank) without a care in the world (ooof). Haaaah... this things, you usually only notice it after they happened.

Lol this post is turning gloomy at this point... it's not that really! Just another normal Friday here. I'm having fun reading "7th Time Loop" light novels (currently reading Volume 2) because I noticed there are a few small details not mentioned in the manga version. Been listing out Rishe's lives (there are two that I don't know what she decided to live as)... and some theories related to Arnold. Okay, now I'm excited!... since I can continue reading the web novel after the light novels... I doubt there'll be any answers but at least I can read ahead...? 

To balance that out, I also found a new potential favourite isekai-themed manga... which I'll be willing to read the web novel it's based on. It has food as the main theme, but the couple I'm rooting for is together (yes, I checked spoilers lol)... so it's all good for this one~

Why do I always care about the villains... (T__T)

Currently, I'm obsessed with isekai stories that feature villainesses. Today I found one with a protagonist that wanted to be a villainess but ended up becoming the heroine instead, and she's chasing after a side character (the male lead!) that isn't supposed to be a [capture] target. I'm excited about this 'cos the side character looks like a cool bad boy kind of character! (pﾟ∀ﾟq)
