Been lurking around reddit again and found this post on r/books. I'm having this reading problem with "Something Happened" recently. I still want to know what happen in the end... and I'm okay with Heller's writing style so that kept me going. Then I reached the chapter about the main character's daughter and I... I don't know... I don't want to read on anymore. Skimming helps a lot especially with his style of writing (he uses redundancy/repetition on purpose in his writing).
