Too Much

I'm... tired.

~~That's too much reading in a month lol~~

Finished the last half of Volume 3 last night and the waterworks were very active after yesterday's post. That really caught me off-guard. Pretty sure that's why I got a terrible headache upon waking up today. Okay, maybe part of it was because of lack of sleep and hormones but still... my eyes feel dry today! ...I am excited to read to next volume though so, tears or no tears, I'm ready!

Anyway... I just want to do some comfort manga/manhwa reading now so anything end-year/new-year stuff will have to wait until tomorrow~~~

Oh yeah, this is the last post for this year so that means I've posted daily for the whole year~! Yay!

...Not going to do the same next year though lol

On the Edge

Currently in the middle of reading Volume 3 of "Last Boss Queen"... my eyes aren't safe from tears too this time. Oh well.

Anyway, finally met another love interest from the original game, which is a prince from a nearby country. ...And seriously WTF? His backstory was so miserable... and to do that to your own family??? Original Pride was brutal as usual *shivers*... really glad that Pride did it differently in this timeline. This arc ends with a bittersweet feeling to it but I kind of could see that's where the story was heading to from the beginning so... it can't be helped. It's a better ending for him.

I find it a bit refreshing seeing a prince taking his responsibility as the heir to the throne very seriously. It isn't rare but not that common either (I usually found more clown princes in the manhwa I'm currently reading so they have been a disappointing bunch recently *sigh*). It's very touching how much he loves his people and his country. I wish him the best. I mean, I'm just a reader from another world lol but I still want to wish him that anyway...

Anyway, so I finally started reading one of my Eileen Chang's books... I didn't really enjoy the short stories but I kind of dig the writing style...! I can't really explain it. I can make sure if I really like it when I read her other two books that I own.

n-year journal

Opted to use journal [only] in the title. ...and I love how it sounded like a pun XD

Saw a Youtube short a couple days ago about the 5-year journal and I just realised it's an interesting way to write my diary/journal...? I've heard of them before but I never knew it would look that way. For some reason I just thought it's a normal diary/journal(?).

I want to try it someday... the 5-year version might be perfect for me because of the length for each day. There's also the 3-year version... I don't think I can do that now (or starting next year) because wow that would be 3 or 5 years of committing myself to writing in my diary daily. I do think it shouldn't be hard to write at least a sentence about my day but to make it a daily routine for that long? I'm scared that I'll get bored XD... of course, it's doable, with self-discipline... but I don't wanna do that now~~~

The first thing I should really do is getting back into the habit of writing in my diary. That can serve as practice before I attempt to do any of that...

Finished reading Vol 2 of "Last Boss Queen" today. I've reached the part where the anime ends with. Tears... were shed (lol) but it's not as bad as Vol 1. Starting Vol 3, I'll be in unfamiliar territory. I'm aware of a certain major spoiler so I guess it's going to move towards that direction...? I'm soooo not ready...! But, I'll still read on because I want to meet the other love interests (I think there are three more? Considering Gil is a hidden route love interest)

Also finished an e-book that I started last year... on Dec 28th... bwahaha! I was a day away to it being 1 year even though it just took me an hour or so to finish it today lol

Last Boss Queen

I finally finished the first volume of "The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: From Villainess to Savior" today!

It hasn't been easy because I kept crying lol... And sometimes I ended up crying twice for a scene because first it was from Pride's POV and next from other characters' POV. ...then more tears, if we get scenes from the original timeline. It's just like when I watched the anime *sigh*. I think I should be less teary-eyed after these two main arcs... so hopefully the next volumes will be gentler(?) for the eyes.

Anyway, in the end of the volume, the author acknowledged the title is long (lol)... I've already been calling the series "Last Boss Queen" but seeing this⇊ is assuring haha. (I'll create a label with that name here too)

It's abbreviated as ラス為 in Japanese which is "Last Tame" with tame read as ため (or ta-me)... the official website for the anime uses lastame which sounds more like a portmanteau.. so there's that too. I guess "Last Boss Queen" sounds better in English.

Airplane Mode Again

Oof I got a shady call today telling me (in automated operator voice) about an unclaimed PosLaju package. When it started telling me to press what and what number I hang up... it was calling from a normal-looking mobile phone number so that's surely not legit! Blocked the number straight away after that.

I'm pretty sure I don't have any unclaimed packages since I'm not expecting any (at least, not today). They usually don't call like this!

Found a post on r/Malaysia about it and apparently they'll ask your IC number, name and address...? And there are worse stuff that could happen if it gets further... like WTF! It's usually my other number that gets calls like these but now it has reached the number I use for official stuff. Seriously.

*SIGH*

I guess it's fortunate that the delivery men usually use WhatsApp nowadays since I'm going to put that phone on airplane mode for at least three days lol

It's something like Spotify Wrapped, I guess...?

There's a bit difference regarding the pages I read [so far] this year with Goodread's data but I won't think much of it lol... (I did add the amount of pages to those without it but it still doesn't match after regenerating).

Anyway, since LT has the almost complete record of my books, it has the most updated amount of books... including how much new ones get entered...

--"Unknown Author" is supposed to be Hideo Yokoyama *sigh* I don't know why the imported data from Amazon is like that

Rewatched "The Saint's Magic is Omnipotent" last night while sewing the other half of the zip on my jacket. It was better when you watch it in one sitting lol..

Honestly, I haven't been watching much anime from this season. I guess the anime I watched from previous season really did a number on me since it caused an anime watching slump lol.. I did re-watch the first season of "The Saint's Magic is Omnipotent" and some earlier episodes of second season but progress is slow... I might catch up with S2 soon since it just ended (I think? I kind of recognised that thumbnail that looks like that scene XD).

Oh gosh~

I have a new idea for another reading jar (I really love my jars lol). A TBR jar!

Damn. I didn't even get the chance to use it lol... now I'm "scared" of reading jars. Okay, maybe I'll be okay with the alphabet thing I mentioned before but haaah... the idea is still scary (=reading slump-inducing)

♢ The two [VERY CUTE] black kittens were capable(?) enough to climb on (that, or the mother did it) the fence back to neighbour's house so nothing major. Neighbour's cat was just introducing her kittens to ~~another food source~~ us, I guess :P

♢ Made a Letterboxd account yesterday on random lol... I'm a bit surprised that the usual handle I use online ("ruyanda") is still available! Currently I'm trying to log all the movies I've watched (at least the one I remember watching lol) in the past there~

♢ I guess it is a month of window-shopping on Shopee XD... Now I'm looking at reading journals - there aren't much but they exist (and for sale!) on Shopee! Speaking of reading journals, I should probably update my months-abandoned reading journal *sigh*...

♢ Last night I've made a list of books I could or would want to read before the year ends... which I just realised a bit later that it's basically a TBR list lol......

I've been window-phone screen-shopping for book covers (and some book sleeves) on Shopee since last week. Been noticing that there are more of them for sale there since these past two years. There are two shops I'm looking more closely than others at this moment. One from Thailand and the other from Vietnam. Why book covers? Book covers are very useful when you want to hide whatever you're reading in public :P... (though it's not like I've been using them much recently lol).

It has been harder to find Silver matches so I've started looking for Gold(!) matches since two nights ago... that escalated pretty fast lol. I guess I really have gotten used to Silver difficulty that I can finally play some Gold ones comfortably. As long as all players are competent enough, of course.

Maybe I'll start tackling Platinum matches next year?

(after that I can try doing solo matches again???)

Pick-A-New-Book Jar 2023

Even though I stop using the reading jar, I feel like I should make this post as some kind of closure XD

This year I only managed to finish 11 books from the jar. Unfortunately, there are only three books that I rated 3/over 3 stars... so I guess the hiatus is inevitable *sigh* (I have two books with half(!) stars there #oof)

Will I still recommend this method to find the next book to read from your shelf?

Yes, absolutely! Definitely stop though when it's not giving you positive feelings anymore :)

Will I do it again?

As of now, no... since I'm in my semi-permanent physical book reading slump era(?). I am playing with the idea of something less rigid though. I have a jar with just alphabets on paper for watching horror movies so something similar might be okay? Pick a letter and find a title that starts with that letter.

Fangirling Over Rishe Again

Started re-reading 7th Time Loop manga and I'm falling in love with Rishe again~~~ Volume 1 is so, so, so good (great manga adaptation of the web novel/light novel series) 😭 I can't wait until they get to arcs from the newer volumes of the light novels... Falling in love with Arnold (again) will happen later as I (the reader) am still cautious of his motives (LOL I say this even though it's like the third time I'm rereading the manga haha #rereadingisgreat) but it's so much fun seeing him falling(?) for Rishe again~!

Despite what I said way back in September, I've yet continue reading the web novel (because I got distracted by manhwas muahaha)... might actually do it this year as part of "Things I want to read before the year ends" stuff 😅 ...although not reading is a nice option too, since the fifth volume of the light novel (English translation) is coming out in April next year. I'll let my mood decide later lol

Broken Bowl

Broke a ceramic bowl by accident today. It's not the expensive kind but still... it's making me a bit sad. Tried fixing it with a strong glue (currently waiting for it to dry) since it actually looks pretty fine other than it breaking into two large pieces lol... I think it can still be used for non-food stuff. Also did the same with the broken plate from before but I haven't found what to do with it haha

Contrary to what I said yesterday, I finished reading "What You Are Looking for is in the Library" in the afternoon. Read one story(chapter) before falling asleep. Finished the remaining last story today. I think it's a pretty chill read. Not really life-changing (might be for other people) but still a good read - a standard solid good read - by being just efficient enough.

My reading stamina(?) is still low most of the time. Sometimes I become impatient - I can't sit long enough to finish a book in one or two sitting(s). Other times I just can't stay focused for so long *sigh*~~~ oh well...

Yesterday I did some tiny cleaning (which just involved the bed area really lol) in my room and that, unsurprisingly, made it very comfortable to sleep at night. Is this a sign for me to do more?

*sigh* What I really need to do is deal with the dust (haaaah~~~)... but because I suspect I have dust allergy, I'm forever dreading to clean them. I don't like having sneezing fits until my cheeks hurt :(

Finished "Jane in Love" today. Yup, just as expected. Ahhh but it's still so sad..! I'm happy that it has some sort of relation to "Persuasion" but uhhh I don't think I like it having a bittersweet ending (no matter how true it is to history :( ...I just want to see Jane happy)

Can't really say that it's better today but I guess it's a bit hopeful...?

Been playing a lot of [& only] Silver matches recently (I think I'm getting used to it!) on Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer and today I suddenly got dropped into a Gold(!) match. It actually went well! It felt a bit harder than Silver's but still quite manageable... I'm fully aware, of course, this can only happen if we have a full 4-player team, and everyone knows what they're doing.

I've made some nice progress with reading "Jane in Love"... really loved Jane [Austen] as a character here. Didn't really vibe with the other female main character until later. I'll probably finish it tonight or tomorrow. Kind of expecting a bittersweet ending (if we're following the true history) but I might be wrong (hopefully).

I've been not holding back at getting coffee at night recently and it's putting me in a good mood...? Surprisingly, it hasn't been affecting my sleep(?) but I notice that I'm generally in a better mood most days. Even when I'm in moments that I normally would not be. But... when I'm annoyed, I am very annoyed... so I'm not really sure what that's about. Oh well. I also have shorter attention span recently... although I'm not sure if that's related to the amount of coffee I'm consuming at night. Hmm.

Been reading the recently-purchased "Jane in Love". It feels very fanfic-ish to me, but the good kind... at the same time, it has that fillers stuff that come with most fanfics which is fine (I guess)... I do see myself getting tired of it later though *sigh*. Anyway, I was expecting humorous moments when Jane arrived in the future but so far I only have worries for her dear life (T_T)

Speaking of Jane Austen... found a manhwa that feels like both "Persuasion" and "Pride and Prejudice"~! The romance is like the one in "Persuasion" and the main character has a family like the Bennet family in "Pride and Prejudice". Only difference is, there's no Mr Bennet and the Mrs Bennet is a very competent mother of five daughters. The mum happens to be the antagonist (a very good one so far, not really a cockroach... but still a b*tch). The main character is the youngest daughter (so... like Lydia?) and she's as badass as her mother XD. I enjoy reading it very much :D

Just finished reading "Battle Royale"... *long sigh* I know it was coming but I still feel sad reading about a favourite character death! (T____T)

I don't think I cried watching the movie but reading it on paper was a different experience...

Anyway, just want to make it clear(?) here. I find Shuya almost annoying. I probably would like his character more if I read this when I was younger. I seem to prefer the complicated, grey(?) characters nowadays lol. Not saying that my favourite characters here were that... (RIP my two favourite characters *cries*)

...ahhh I wanna read something light and comedic (preferably romcom) now~ (T_T)

Also, kind of realised why I don't read much horror novels now... I probably don't like how hopeless some of them are and the [often bitter] aftertaste after reading them... (and I really don't like reading anything with animal deaths)

What does that even mean, you say? To me, it meant I was peeking into some spoilers but at the same time avoiding some just because XD

I made some good progress with "Battle Royale" recently... currently I'm less than 200 pages away from the end. Though the place I'm at is a bit hard to go through because one of my favourite characters has died (HAH~) and the other characters kept bringing him up... I mean.. I understand why but I don't really like being reminded of his death :( At this point, I can't wait for the little villains to die because they've started annoying me in a cockroach way~

...and yes, I saw the movie... I know who dies, but it still doesn't make it easier to read about their deaths :(

Ermmm... kind of acted a bit out of character(?) today - although buying books at random is very in-character lol - and I could just sigh about it...

Nah. I'll just roll with it. Maybe I do wanna read it now/later...?

Still.. it's very unlike me. I don't usually seek out to read specifically horror books [anymore]. Like I read a little bit of this and that there, but it's not as often as I expect myself to be (as a horror stuff fan). Maybe because I'm currently reading "Battle Royale"...? Huh.

Anyway, the book I'm talking about is Stephen King's "It". It's very petty of me that I got "triggered" to buy a copy because I saw someone selling a pre-loved version at the same price with a new copy. And there's only one copy left (for the new one)... added with it being among the cheapest I could find on Shopee (around RM30, other list is over RM50)...

It's December and I'm feeling strangely [still] optimistic regarding reading... despite my self-proclaimed semi-permanent physical reading slump.

Funnily... didn't I say the reading slump has become mood reading back in August??? Lol totally forgot about that. I guess the situation switches between those two regularly...?

That probably means it will be a month full of reading affairs... or at least I will aim for it to be one. Actively. Hopefully very actively.

Less Water

*sigh* We're having water supply problems again... although that's not really new at this point. I guess it's just more noticeable recently (apparently there's maintenance stuff happening so)... it's mildly annoying because it's unpredictable. Oh well.

Anyway, currently I'm attempting to finish reading "Battle Royale" and I find it surprisingly easy to read...? And the chapters are pretty short (except for some that include back stories). Although as usual, I'm bad with remembering characters XD... seriously, there are too many characters (*sigh* understandable) but I don't think it really matters? Just focus on the few main ones because the others are just going to die anyway (unfortunately). For this book, I'm actually glad that I saw the movie first before reading because it's easier to imagine the scenes... I am also very interested in the worldbuilding which is more detailed in the book.

3 more posts(days) left till November ends. That means the NaBloPoMo run for November is going to end too.

Ah... it's the first time I updated my blog daily for a month~ Since then, I've also did something similar for a year (in 2021) and hopefully this year too...

For next year... I probably won't do it daily. Maybe something like last year's, which will still be quite frequent compared to before 2021.

Maybe I'll do more blog-surfing (reading other people's blogs) and commenting next month.

Lol. I don't think I leave comments in other people's blogs that often at that time but whoa.. I have that phase, huh. I believed that it's something I should do more because it's part of being a blogger... I'm surprisingly quite social back in the day haha.. Haven't been doing that recently. Partly because there aren't that many blogs that use the old-school style I like. Most of the time, I don't think I have anything to add to the blog posts...? Although just saying thanks or a simple greeting would be enough? I guess I'm just lazy to leave comments lol

It's a nice sunny morning and... I think I'm going use the jar today, instead of tomorrow.

When I decided to stop using the jar in July, some time after that I thought I might return to the jar in December... now I don't think I will do that. This physical book reading slump will be semi-permanent. I'm not really sure what that means yet but one thing for sure (this still rings true):

Noticing some small things that I usually just ignore but I find a bit annoying today.

A scene from a movie: Someone says "I believe in you" while shaking their head. I guess it doesn't has to mean that but it's hard not to be suspicious of their motives because I'm used to the negative meaning
High-pitched voices. ...my problem, it's a preference thing.
Starting new books... more than it being annoying, I just find it troublesome really lol
Starting multiple books... This seems to contradict the point before this but hear me out. Recently, I kind of have the urge to start a few at the same time but I don't want to do that! At least not now... (no, wait... it might be fine? should I just commit book affairs?)

Death Notice - Kind of a random find...
The Borrowed - The book that I said was the last copy.
Jane in Love - It features Jane Austen travelling into the future :P

I'd been wondering if there are any translated Chinese mystery & thriller books out there last year so "The Borrowed" was among the ones I found. Got lucky with finding "Death Notice" around the same time.

Finally finished the whole thing~ So I ended up watching everything because Nicholas Teo stayed until the end lol (and he's part of the 3rd generation family, congrats!)

I'm making very slow progress in my reading. Recently partly due to being under the weather *sigh*. Did start looking at one thick book I'm currently reading (it started in January this year or last year(?) but I restarted from the beginning lol)... If we go by the 11 books per month thing, I have 7 more books to go.

Not really worried though.

(Again, I don't know where this confidence comes from lol)

Oh yeah I did edit my post from two days ago about this but I guess I'll just mention it here again: sense of smell is back to normal. I don't think it really bother me much but I'm still glad it's back because wow eating is a different experience after getting it back haha

I'm still in the middle of watching the final episode of CMBF... ahhhh I feel like crying (T_T) because I couldn't listen to most of the songs they performed (especially one song that featured Nicholas Teo *sobs*)... probably copyright (& broadcasting) rights again??? So weird to hear they sing without music... Usually the performances just got cut or muted but this time it's the voice-only variant..for some reason it's more annoying seeing that (especially after seeing how much efforts were put into erasing the music parts... Of course, I understand why they had to do that but surely I can still be annoyed about it!)

Haaah... Today I'm grateful that I can at least listen to all songs in Season 2's final episode *so sad*

As expected XD

These are sold as a 2-in-1 combo on Shopee and I randomly picked one where both sound like something I would read. They are very thick books though lol ~~what was I thinking???~~

"The Interpretation of Murder" & "The Abominable"

There are some noticeable defects on "The Abominable" cover, which is a very familiar sight for someone who uses this regularly... some book covers have that shiny finish that you have to be extra careful when applying anything with adhesive. One mistake and it's the end :P (I do have a drastic way to lessen the effect though which is by applying a thin layer of liquid normal glue - preferably one that dries clear)... anyway... despite all those, the pages for both books are pretty much in good condition (very minimal foxing, if any) so I'm happy with my purchase~

edit 20231120 - Few hours after posting this, my sense of smell has returned :P

Gah~ I ended up using the RM20 in my PayPal account to pay for Bookxcess' shipping! Can't help it... one of the books has only one copy left *sigh*

Speaking of PayPal.. maybe it's a good idea to keep RM20 there so that I can use on Bookxcess when needed. I'm aware that it's basically the same thing but it might hurt less (psychologically lol) when I don't have to think about the RM20 shipping in the future.

Just finished reading my first Seishi Yokomizo book (finally!). I started on book four lol since that's what I can get for cheap under RM20 on Amazon Kindle few months ago. Didn't really ruin the experience though... they did mention the Honjin case but nothing's spoiled (I think). Anyway, I'm [surprisingly] very mad about the motives so when I predicted the plot twist and it turned true, that gave me comfort(?)... still mad though.

...and it happened! Again.. Still having a stuffy nose but as of today, I've lost my sense of smell. I did notice how I was less sensitive to certain smell yesterday - I can still smell strong ones but the weaker ones were barely there - so I guess it was already partially gone yesterday?

Throat is feeling better today but now I have stuffy and runny nose. Just my luck! Also feeling a bit feverish. I'm suspecting it's a sinus thing because I don't feel as sick as in the past... hopefully I'm not raising any [severe] sickness flag by saying this *shivers*

Finished reading "Before We Say Goodbye" though. I don't know why... I find the ones featuring any unmarried BF-GF couples' stories have annoying GF for some reason (but I still cried nonetheless. F*ck. Don't really like the ones with deaths). Also, a stuffy and runny nose makes it easy to cry lol

On to S2!

Woke up with a dry throat today. It's most probably due to dehydration... but it might be also the sick kind so let's wait and see. Currently, it's just a bit feeling of discomfort (but still annoying haaaaah).

Oh yeah, I finally finished re-watching first season of "The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent". Had to skip scenes with Kyle because I can't stand any clown princes at this moment. Also, skipped Aira scenes when she's still with Kyle's entourage. I guess her character is fine - at least she's not a cockroach b*tch - but I really don't have a great impression of her character (very unfortunate) so I have no interest in watching her before she leaves Kyle side.

Also started on the second season (aww.. I'm just two months late lol) straight away and I'm surprised to see the opening scene! I guess we'll at least reach that arc in this season (including that one important scene, just because I saw it in the teaser... it most probably will be in the final episode).

The modern classics books I mentioned in this post arrived today...

These are preloved books but they are in a very good condition. The covers do have some residues of stickers (probably the price tags) but in general, everything is fine. There's barely any yellowing or foxing... probably because they look almost unread. Do you think it's because the pages are covered by these?

Anyway... yes, that's another copy of "Empire of the Sun". The other copy I have is this one. Nothing wrong with that one but I don't feel like digging around the bookshelf to get it out :P... Oh and if I'm not mistaken, it has that old dusty book smell that I don't like. I say this as if I'm going to read it for the third time in my life... (maybe I will???) The strange thing about this is, it's not even one of my favourite books XD (I just like the movie).. How the heck I survived reading it twice??

Happy to report that I just finished reading "A Tale of Time City"... and my no-good [selective?] memory has been a great help again~ Totally forgot all about the plot twists so it's like reading again for the first time. Last time I read the book was in January 2017. I think my favourite character is Elio and he's an android (of course lol).

Now I'm kind of excited to finish the remaining books I'm currently reading!

This coming from someone who enjoys finishing books more than starting them lol...

Reading is a bit slow again but mainly because I don't feel like picking up the books to read :P... Not really feeling the slump (hopefully). Oooh I never really celebrated the day on this blog. Should I start doing that??

Anyway.. I guess I'll talk a bit about my experience with the Mass Effect game series:

Randomly stumbled upon a Mass Effect Confessions blog on Tumblr today. Saw one mentioned about the next Mass Effect game and I realised I also can't buy it on discount in the future... oof. I guess it's still possible if it's available on Steam but I don't really wanna link my EA account there because I heard the horror stories... (though maybe there'll be less problems in the future?)
I started playing from Mass Effect 2 → Mass Effect 1 → Mass Effect 3 → Mass Effect Andromeda. I went into ME2 without knowing anything about the whole series. I really liked that I can choose to be FemShep. Until now, I haven't played the other Shepard (but I do have plans in the future). Haven't tried romancing other characters (only Garrus ♥♥♥) but I might go for Thane in my ME2 insanity playthrough.
Fell in love with Garrus at first voice. Like, seriously, it's the voice that got me. I think it was a great coincidence that I started from ME2 because you can't romance him in the first one...
I kept mentioning it in this blog but I have yet made any progress with my ME2's insanity playthrough. I probably will pick a day to do it every week (I did mention about doing a weekly blog post about it but I'm not sure if I'll be motivated enough to do that lol).
I have the four novels based on Mass Effect in my bookshelf but so far I have only read one #oops. Got really lucky in finding them all on Carousell from a seller that sells Sci-Fi books.
Also got really lucky with finding a preloved version of the art book for half the retail price last year. Didn't even care that the shipping fee was over RM20 (the book IS huge and heavy XD).
I guess I'll end this day by playing the ME3 multiplayer :P

Unhappy Ending

I feel like this will be a romcom manga/manhwa weekend because I'm tired of getting angry with cockroach evil heroine-chans and clown princes...

[Yes, clown prince - not a typo. I'll alternate between calling that and idiot prince in this blog depending on my mood :P]

Oh and it might be a good weekend for reading physical books. I think. Hopefully.

*sigh* Just updated my details on PayPal. Realised I have RM20 in there lol... Was hoping to add PayPal as a payment method in my EA account but I can't. I guess it's not available here...? It's a pity 'cos I can't use my Kwik card anymore (which was discontinued last year). Oof. That's the end to buying games on discount on the EA app... an unhappy ending :(

The Box

Rain in the afternoon.

And... these are what were in the box of books I received yesterday:

Mostly romance books XD (including some short stories collection... for romance! I don't see that often)... oh and the seller threw in four extra books which was nice of them to do! Excluding shipping cost, it's RM28 for 14 books.

Gosh how I wish I have the reading stamina(?) I had in the past... now I'm so picky(?) and gets easily discouraged/demotivated when the book doesn't feel right. Yeah, I know, I should DNF books more and strictly but *sigh* I'm usually reluctant to DNF when it comes to books I own...

Received a box of preloved books in the mail today.

Haaah..... what am I doing???

Yeah... I couldn't resist. It's RM2 per book. The seller probably wants to get rid of their books as soon as possible. Since they are also in Sabah, the shipping fee was pretty cheap (RM7++). I'll post the list of books tomorrow. Kinda feeling overwhelmed (and amused) at this moment lol

Don't ask when I'm going to read these books because I don't know XD

Fangirling again

Haven't been watching any anime recently (I guess it is some kind of anime fatigue from previous season lol) but yesterday I'm finally back into the mood~! For now, I'm re-watching first season of "The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent" before I start watching the newest season.

The result(?) is... I've started shamelessly fangirling over Sei & Albert again :P~ It feels so different watching the first season after reading the light novels. I got a bit teary-eyed watching how we almost lost Albert in the first episode... that dramatic scene in the end coupled with the ending theme was per~fect ♥

One thing I noticed (or more like "confirmed"), Sei is actually more angry (in a passive-aggressive quiet way) about the whole summoning thing in the light novels/web novel. I don't think it's shown that much in the anime (which is fine either way really, doesn't take away the fun). There's the whole thing about her keeping mum about her status (which indicated clearly that she's the saint) and her reluctance to let other people appraise/see her status.

Another thing. After reading various manga/manhwa with saints in them, I think this series has one of the best treatment towards a saint (excluding that Prince Kyle, of course). They are very respectful towards her. This includes the king and his aides.

Anyway... I'm fangirling over them again XD... Totally having fun seeing how smoothly Albert flirts with her and how Sei slowly falling in love with him~ ahhh & Albert's voice is so nice to listen to ♥

"The Lovely Bones", "Ender's Game" & "Forrest Gump" - Saw the movies before so I thought it might not hurt to read the books they are based on... All three with movie posters as their covers. I'm totally fine with it :P
"The Giant Bathroom Reader" - Considering my flower-picking trips (LOL), I thought this book is perfect for me when I saw it XD.. Not sure yet if it will be part of my "Place to Pick Flowers" shelf though~

Familiar Voice

I was in the middle of watching another ZTD playthrough when I realised how familiar the voice of one of the characters. He voiced Legion in Mass Effect game series... and apparently he's also Callego/Kalego's English dub voice... knowing that today kind of made my day lol

Kind of organised a bit the towers of books I kept procrastinating to do and now they are half their original heights. I returned books I already read (and some unread) to the bookshelf. Got reminded again how I'm out of bookshelf space... ~~ahhh I don't want to think about it anymore~~

Unfortunately, didn't manage to finish any books last week XD

I'm having a bit too much fun with window-shopping preloved books on Shopee *sigh*

Very tempted to get some of them just because they are sold so cheaply... even though I know nothing about the book or the author. Okay, I do know some of the authors (& read their other works)... my point is, I don't need these BUT getting them at that price might be best to experience the books without paying the full price. Obviously, it's amazing how I can say this when I'm in a middle of a physical book reading slump lol

Received some of them in the mail today.

Today's parcel:

Natural Selection - The blurb on the cover says it's like Jaws & Jurassic Park combined... so...
House of Suns - SciFi. Haven't read anything from Alastair Reynolds yet so this is kind of a risky choice lol... well at least I got it for cheap~
The Deadly Fire - Last book in Fear Street: The Cataluna Chronicles series. Yes, I think I'll start looking out for Fear Street books on Shopee :P
Knit Wit - Non-fiction. Knitting book with patterns.

Did some organising today. *sigh* Ah, yes... I have too many bookmarks & it's getting ridiculous...! At this point, it's a separate hobby- oh wait, I guess it falls under collecting things... and I see no stopping in the future.

I should probably edit that post to add the new ones~

Seeing them almost makes me want to start new books just so that I can use more bookmarks lol... but who says you can only use one for a book?

Slow Reading Day

...it is a slow reading day. For physical books that is. Digital reading was great! I found a manhwa with a very engaging story. It even made me cry several times.

Anyway... it was a pretty cool day due to sudden rain near noon. It's almost crazy really. I was just checking the weather forecast and it said it wasn't supposed to rain. But if you look at the sky outside, it's the kind where you expect rain. Few minutes later, it started raining. Of course I'm aware you can't trust the forecast 100% but the whole thing happened so fast, and I find it very amusing XD... I guess it's better to look at the sky to "predict" the weather yourself because you probably could when you observe it for so long. I usually look for signs of rain because that's pretty much the only thing I care about when it comes to local weather.
