Reading
I finished the bloody damned book and now my head hurts.
From now on, "To Have and to Hoax" will be remembered as "that book where the main couple had a misunderstanding & didn't communicate effectively for 4 f*cking years"... like WOW. And then it was revealed that it was someone else and the male lead forgave that person easily... that 4 years period is a sad joke at this point *eye-rolls*. What makes it sadder is I'm usually lenient/accepting on this misunderstanding/miscommunication trope but even this was too much (too long) for me. Like... seriously, I'm not a masochist (although I guess it's masochistic of me to finish the book lol... but then I'm a believer in reviewing something only after I finished it so...), I don't enjoy watching fictional people not communicating in the stuff I read.
To make it more interesting, this book should've a regression plotline added to it. I know that trope is way overdone (in the manga/manhwa world, at least), but I can't accept that 4 years of non-communication unless something tragic happened to them, he regretted, and went back in time to fix his mistakes. And it must be the male lead because he's an A-hole, he needs to suffer more if he want to redeem himself. He will fit in just fine as a regressor because a lot of the male leads in manga/manhwa in that genre also has daddy issues 😒.
I guess the easiest option would be to make it less than 4 years (2 years at most and even that feels too long for me)...
Anyway, I'm pretty much still mad about the book BUT I do still want to read more from the series though because I'm interested in the other couples. And like I said in the previous post, I like the writing style... so I'm not giving up on the author (yet).
