My Possessive Side
2 hours. That was how long I organised by bookshelf for today. I actually organised most of the shelf by this point but...
- It's worse today. Found more books I want to read especially the thick ones. I've kept them for so long, it's about time to read them. Then I mocked myself, "Would you be able to finish them though?" *Shut up, me!*
- And there are also unread books that I want to read but not now. Like I don't even want to put them together in that unread/new corner. So where should I put them?
- I don't think I'll be able to follow a system because of how biased I am to some of the books. So it has to be simplified. In the end, I started thinking "Whatever!" and just pick books I want on display and put the rest in the bottom cabinet shelf thing (I don't know what to call them). It's basically like a cold palace.. but for books.. and it's not cold... nevermind.
- Other than the new/unread books I want to read, there are also books I want to reread. Yup, I'm becoming too ambitious. I have to remember to slow down!
- Also, I found books I have to re-wrap. Yes, I'm the type that use plastic covers on my books. Not all of them. I still do it now. I know they keep the covers protected with experience. I won't resell them in the future, I think? Maybe I'll donate to the local library but I don't have plans to sell them again. Once they're purchased, they are part of the family *overdramatic haha*. They will be stamped with my name and the date I got them.
Which I just realised doesn't sound like a healthy family after typing it out but whatever XD - I found some books with read dates at the back, written with pencil. This was a habit I had before I fell into a reading slump. I'm thinking of doing it again because it's helpful for keeping records. I can put the dates in Goodreads (already did it for "Black Beauty" / Shelved in 2021 but read in 2008 haha).
Not sure if I'll continue tomorrow... Organising is such a pain when you realise you don't have enough dedicated space and have to improvise.
Just thinking about it makes me feel tired. *long sigh*
