Online Shopping
Me, when I shop/window-shop for books online:
- Adding more and more books in my wishlist without buying anything (yet)
- Stays too long on certain websites/apps to browse for cheap and/or pre-loved books. Bookxcess. Shopee. Carousell.
- Paying shipping fee that costs more than the book. Especially for hard-to-find and rare books. Or reading media... *looks at my manga magazine collection*
- Paying double shipping fees for books. Pay for local shipping and then pay again to ship to me. Bonus if I manage to get free local shipping.
Again, this applies to hard-to-find, rare books. Also [japanese] books that can't be shipped to overseas (I use buyandship for this. They are the only one that don't ask for a copy of my driving license or passport. But that might be because they have a dedicated site for certain countries including Malaysia. Services like these are also expensive so you have to be financially-prepared. /not sponsored *never thought I'll say this in a blog post lol*). - Sleep on it for a few days before deciding to check them out (then they go out-of-stock lol)
- Being a cheapskate. Always looking out for discount/voucher codes.
- Checking Goodreads & Amazon reviews for the book. Blog reviews. Sometimes youtube reviews.
