Here are some life(?)... updates.

Lol... more like book updates, maybe?

Interestingly, I can categorise them by month:

BOOK_AUG

Yeah... I managed to get on (visit? board?) the Doulos Hope when it's in town. Had to make reservation online. Kind of fortunate that I was able to do that the night before for August 29th's... Amazingly, I only purchased one book which is another hardcover version of Jane Eyre. When will I ever read "Jane Eyre" and "Emma"? It has been 4 years XD.. what's funny is, at the moment I'm typing this post I'm considering reading them on my Kindle (because I can highlight them there and revisit them in one place on Goodreads). Well, it might be possible to do hybrid reading...

Anyway, I remember the date because when we returned to Jesselton Quay (we rode on a bus to go to the port where they docked), we saw a lorry on fire.

Received these books on September 26th... and I remember the date again because it's the day for Wuthering Waves 2.7 preview livestream XD

2/3 of the books are non-fiction ---this coming from me, who generally isn't a fan of non-fiction books? Except when it's about stuff I'm interested in, of course :D

A Brief History of Poisons - Lol it's so funny that you can only see "Poisons" from the spine :P
The Jane Austen Writers' Club - Because... Jane Austen is in the title.
The Andromeda Evolution - It's a sequel to "The Andromeda Strain" that is written by another author... which I might need to reread if I want to read this.

Anyway, got Ciaccona's signature weapon... but at what cost?

75th. Yeah, I was so surprised that it's the 75th pull, I forgot to screenshot the convene result lol.

Very red number

She was actually fine with Static Mist (for Cartethyia team) but I just feel like I'm not using her full potential or something. Well, part of that is probably because of her echoes (as usual *sigh*)... but, oh well. Anyway... I'm so going to make a team with Jiyan or Aalto... Especially Aalto. I haven't made any progress with my Aalto DPS built...

Let me kind of throw this here: I've been playing Punishing: Gray Raven (PGR) on the side (an earlier game made by Kuro Games, who also made WuWa) and I suspect my WuWa luck probably went there (lol) because I got Bianca Crepuscule's exclusive weapon and CUB so early recently. ~~Where was this luck during the DMC colab patch lol~~

Now I'm kind of scared for the future (saw 2.7 Preview Livestream and... I really want Qiuyuan!)

Anyway, PGR has been an overwhelming experience so I'm just taking it in slowly. Like, very slowly. I don't even care that I'm bad at the combat (I'm a true button-smasher here XD), I decided to focus on doing the story more... and just build anyone as I like. The mini games has been fun :P... that's where I shine the most haha

Lol didn't expect to make a debut for PGR label in this post... though I don't see myself posting about it as much as WuWa in the future because I'm very on-off with the game...

I haven't started reading the light novel(s) of "True Love Fades Away"... but... I probably need to re-read Last Boss Queen from the the first volume lol (time to cry again, I guess T_T)

2.1 Survey
I usually fill them but this might be the first time I fill the extra suggestion thing in the end... Although it's just a minor thing. I suggested adding the ability to pin some items on the top and also lock some of them (from accidental use) in the Backpack.

This is one of Brant's echoes. It might be hard to find another one to replace this *sigh*. I don't always get to see CD at 21%.

Overdrive Zone
I finally cleared this zone with full crests yesterday!!! Yes, it's all thanks to Brant - I didn't have a team strong enough for the Hazard Tower (middle). And most of my 4-star resonators aren't built good enough for this.

Books and Rainy Days

Just to bring closure to a previous post: Fortunately the no-water situation wasn't long, it returned the next day. Which was a great relief to everyone because I definitely don't want a repeat of that week.

Received these books today~

The first three are pretty much the usual stuff but I'm sure the last two books must look out of place there lol XD... Believe me, the reasons are very simple. Very random of me though haha.

"The Scarlet Pimpernel" - Saw this mentioned together with the manhwa "My Angelic Husband Is Actually a Devil in Disguise" in another title spoiler forum (lol) and just decided "Oh yeah I'll read that" right there at that moment...

"Mickey 7" - Saw the "Mickey 17" trailer as an ad on Youtube and got curious about the story XD. Realised it was based on a book so...

The weather has been lacking of sun recently. Sometimes it gets me worried because parcel deliveries during these rainy days can get very weird. Had one experience last month with a Shopee order where it's marked delivered in the app. Since the weather was bad at that time, I gave it a few days to wait for them (KEX. ABX?) to deliver but didn't receive anything. Had to request for a refund on Shopee before the guarantee thing ends. I'm guessing they forgot to deliver it... *sigh*

Had similar experience with the PosLaju parcels received today. Marked as delivered when I checked their status last night... BUT they delivered them today (which, thankfully, has been sunny so far).

General updates~

Shopping Bag

New books:

"Azure & Claude" is new...? Doesn't look like it's the final volume (apparently it's on hiatus?). It has the tragedy tag though... not sure if I'm ready for that.

"A Tale of the Secret Saint" was totally an impulse-bought book XD.. It was around RM35 on Amazon SG (excluding shipping) so I didn't think much (like, just do it)... now it's at RM92++. Lucky!

... I don't know where I'll find the other volumes but let's think about that later!
There's also the kindle route (the price range is RM30-50 per volume) but I want something physical though, for things I love.

Preloved books

The most expensive (RM22) one in this pile is the manga! Which is understandable because it's pretty much still in a good condition (and less than half the original price!). The others are pretty random choices. Though I picked "Tempests and Slaughter" because Tamora Pierce is one of the authors recommended to DWJ fans... so I'll try reading that later.

For "The Third Twin" & "Artemis", kind of curious of the authors' writing styles so I 'grabbed' anything I could find lol... "Hypothermia" was a totally random choice.

Games
I really couldn't forget the feeling of playing nonograms lol... I did find a few of them on Steam so that's settled(?) for now :P. It isn't very fun to play on the phone so I prefer the ones I can play on PC.

Oh yeah... saw that both Orwell games were (are?) on sale so I ended up getting those too. I can't wait to replay them!

Currently, I'm low-key obsessed with the game "Wuthering Waves"~!... It's so funny how it happened XD

I first saw it became available on Epic Store & was curious enough to install it but didn't go through with the full installation (I didn't have enough disk space). Then I saw someone I subscribed to on Youtube played it on stream and got interested.

Anyway, one of the characters that I could play (can you believe it? I managed to get Jiyan & Calcharo!) as is someone that has dragon(?) power. I play the game using Japanese audio so imagine my surprise when I see who Jiyan's voice actor is... Ono Yuki! His voice sounded deeper than the ones I usually heard of him so I'm kind of disappointed I didn't guess it's him (but still super happy!).. The only one I recognised is Lingyang (Hanae Natsuki).

As of now, I've done the main story (whatever is available for now). I don't know if it's the best (or worst?) time (hormotional) for me to play the game because I cried doing some of the side quests.. seriously, what the heck was that? Usually it's the ones that caught me off-guard that made me cried buckets (like that one grandpa that wanted to get some cool echoes to court someone :P)

LBQ's "Borneo"

*long sigh*

I'm here just to say I've finished writing down the quotes I found from books I was reading from end February until now. Too...many... quotes... Anyway, my not-really reading journal that was started from 2021 is near the end (I think it has few more months?)... I probably need to use a different format after that because I usually write long quotes and this weekly journal format doesn't really fit...? Since it's not like I found new quotes everyday *sigh*

Oh yeah, I finished reading Vol 5 of Last Boss Queen few days ago. Some tears were shed but it's not the sad kind (I think?)... The volume focused on multiple point of views but I guess it's kind of a volume that did a minor focus for Callum and Alan...? Since there was that scene with the original [Queen] Pride in the beginning. It's very interesting comparing that to how frustrated and guilty they felt in the end of the book (and Pride being very glad that they are alive - it really hits differently).

Also... "Borneo" (as a person's name) made it into LBQ world XD

Unfortunately, he's a shady character :P

This is not that kind of post

Oof haven't been updating this blog weekly last month...

Oh well~ it's not like there's much to update on anyway.

Last month was a slow reading month. I felt it enough to want to make up(?) to it this month... Though I'm thinking of more of short books and easy(?) reads so hopefully I'll be able to that this month XD

I finally found the self-published book I've been wanting to get (because my dear beloved friend Mel :P got me engrossed with the story which was originally posted on Facebook) on Carousell! I consider it a small price to pay to get my curiosity satisfied. I don't even remember how the story went lol (I guess that means I have to read from the beginning again...)

Currently kind of obsessed with the game "Murder by Numbers"... more specifically the logic puzzles - nonograms - it's a fairly simple(?) game but it challenges my mind so much I just love doing them lol~ I usually play it with some Youtube videos I don't mind playing at the background.

Oh, right! I finally finished watching S2 of "The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent"... Yup, totally knew they would end at that part XD... It ended so beautifully though - I'm happy with Sei & Albert's couple development ♥

That said, I don't think I'm out of anime watching slump yet... I am still trying to catch up with "7th Time Loop" anime. Also kind of in the mood of re-watching "Last Boss Queen", maybe will do that after I finish reading Volume 5...

Volume 5 of "Last Boss Queen" is... bloody. I really love the character developments for some of the characters though. Tiara is a bad-ass with knives! ...and Cedric finally have something that impress me :P.. I didn't really know how to feel about his character in the previous volume but the development he went through caught my attention. Oh and we get some parts told from Tiara's POV (that's new!) which I hope to see more in the future~

3 Books and a Bookmark

Received these books today...

Now I can continue reading "7th Time Loop" [Vol 4] manga and "Last Boss Queen" [Vol 5] light novel~~~ After I'm done with "To Have and to Hoax", of course. I'm kinda feeling monogamous with my reading nowadays lol...it's taking me some time to read that because I had a hard time accepting 4 years of non-communication 😑. I like the way it's written but that 4 years thing kept haunting me in the beginning.

The other book is a John Wyndham short stories collection. He's one of the new-to-me authors I've read in these past few years that I look forward to reading their other works. Yes. Obviously(?), I like him enough to get one with short stories :P.. well, coincidentally, I also want to try the non-continuous reading mode in the ReadMore app so there's that too...

Since this year is a dragon year, I decided to get a bookmark with a dragon on it XD

The goals from 2023's December:

Big Goal:
Make progress with GR Reading Challenge (continued)

Small Goal:
Deal with Chrome tabs (continued)

We can just skip the small goal, which is basically untouched (unchallenged?) the whole month lol

I managed to complete my reading challenge but... at what cost? XD

Well, the cons include

---I don't remember much what I've read

---there isn't much time to digest what I've read (which might be best for books that I don't really enjoy, but the opposite for the ones I do enjoy)

---I was anxious(?) all the time

Pros

---I finally read some of the books I kept putting off reading

---learnt that sometimes pushing myself to just read is the answer. This is usually what makes a procrastinator like me moves.

Some updates on life (which is not much really lol)

I found an alternative way to watch "7th Time Loop" anime *sigh* but I was very salty about it all the time since the last post. Yeah, pretty much as expected, I ended up getting obsessed with obtaining what I want.
Last Boss Queen Vol 4 - I guess Gil isn't a hidden character (but I don't think Pride remembers the games much anyway so she might miss someone) as it's said that she met all five love interests in this volume. Prince Cedric was... he didn't make a good first impression to me but I don't really hate him.. and yet that doesn't mean I like him (as of now). You know, he reminds me of my early experiences with some oresama characters from otome games. Hmm.. it's a strange feeling. I used to like the character developments of such characters but I guess I've grown out of it now...?
I finally updated my so-called reading journal that I abandoned for months lol~~~ It's more of a quotes journal at this point... but anyway! I realised I've been using it since 2021! That's... crazy. I'll still use it this year for quotes but I have a separate reading journal I found on Shopee that I'm trying this year. Since I'm not going to be blogging daily, I thought it should be okay for keeping my thoughts on the book because the journal I found has a review section.
Youtube - It's a me problem (because it's related to my voice fetish aka attraction to nice-sounding voices :P) but I haven't been enjoying some videos on Youtube lately. I don't know why some voices make me cringe so much. And some have such an annoying melody to the way they speak that I just DNF the video in the end... It seems like I'm more sensitive to this recently that I started wondering how I survived living this long without encountering people with very annoying voices (there is that one person with quack-sounding voice back in school but we weren't in the same class/circle so I was spared from listening to them daily)

Yeah, this makes me sound very mean about people's voices, I'm probably am... but I don't make a fuss of it in public at least (although this blog is an exception, I guess, since it is open to public). It's one of the TMI facts about me that you unfortunately now know about XD

I don't really have a specific big and small goal now so I'm not including them in this post today... I am interested in making a list of goals that I know I won't achieve 75% of them though XD. It will be more of a throwaway list of goals so it might get interesting...

Too Much

I'm... tired.

~~That's too much reading in a month lol~~

Finished the last half of Volume 3 last night and the waterworks were very active after yesterday's post. That really caught me off-guard. Pretty sure that's why I got a terrible headache upon waking up today. Okay, maybe part of it was because of lack of sleep and hormones but still... my eyes feel dry today! ...I am excited to read to next volume though so, tears or no tears, I'm ready!

Anyway... I just want to do some comfort manga/manhwa reading now so anything end-year/new-year stuff will have to wait until tomorrow~~~

Oh yeah, this is the last post for this year so that means I've posted daily for the whole year~! Yay!

...Not going to do the same next year though lol

On the Edge

Currently in the middle of reading Volume 3 of "Last Boss Queen"... my eyes aren't safe from tears too this time. Oh well.

Anyway, finally met another love interest from the original game, which is a prince from a nearby country. ...And seriously WTF? His backstory was so miserable... and to do that to your own family??? Original Pride was brutal as usual *shivers*... really glad that Pride did it differently in this timeline. This arc ends with a bittersweet feeling to it but I kind of could see that's where the story was heading to from the beginning so... it can't be helped. It's a better ending for him.

I find it a bit refreshing seeing a prince taking his responsibility as the heir to the throne very seriously. It isn't rare but not that common either (I usually found more clown princes in the manhwa I'm currently reading so they have been a disappointing bunch recently *sigh*). It's very touching how much he loves his people and his country. I wish him the best. I mean, I'm just a reader from another world lol but I still want to wish him that anyway...

...and I meant that with the shocked kind of *pffft*, when whatever was in your mouth came out involuntarily because something funny happened XD

Finished reading Vol 2 of "Last Boss Queen" today. I've reached the part where the anime ends with. Tears... were shed (lol) but it's not as bad as Vol 1. Starting Vol 3, I'll be in unfamiliar territory. I'm aware of a certain major spoiler so I guess it's going to move towards that direction...? I'm soooo not ready...! But, I'll still read on because I want to meet the other love interests (I think there are three more? Considering Gil is a hidden route love interest)

Also finished an e-book that I started last year... on Dec 28th... bwahaha! I was a day away to it being 1 year even though it just took me an hour or so to finish it today lol

Last Boss Queen

I finally finished the first volume of "The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: From Villainess to Savior" today!

It hasn't been easy because I kept crying lol... And sometimes I ended up crying twice for a scene because first it was from Pride's POV and next from other characters' POV. ...then more tears, if we get scenes from the original timeline. It's just like when I watched the anime *sigh*. I think I should be less teary-eyed after these two main arcs... so hopefully the next volumes will be gentler(?) for the eyes.

Anyway, in the end of the volume, the author acknowledged the title is long (lol)... I've already been calling the series "Last Boss Queen" but seeing this⇊ is assuring haha. (I'll create a label with that name here too)

It's abbreviated as ラス為 in Japanese which is "Last Tame" with tame read as ため (or ta-me)... the official website for the anime uses lastame which sounds more like a portmanteau.. so there's that too. I guess "Last Boss Queen" sounds better in English.
