At Last.

This will be short.

My mum had her viva at her university today & she did it! She passed! (lol..dunno what to call it)... But she still have to do some corrections (in 9 months) before she officially graduate September next year.

Haha.. After all this years... now... no more extra burden (Her ph.D course did affect us negatively, positively, physically & mentally... often get scolded & all that)..well... She deserved her "Doctor" title.. she spent a lot of time, money & brainwork on her thesis..

*sighs happily*

She inspires me a lot. Congrats, mum!

~ Know What You Want ~

Just sth I wrote last week in my green notebook.

* - * - * - * - * - * - * - *
~ Know what you want ~

That's what our *temporary* class teacher said, Mr. K. Ng. (going to call him Sir K)

I'm right all along! So typical of All Saints teachers.

Hehe... but, so far, I like my teachers. The Pengajian Am (=General Studies?) teacher has a somewhat good sense of humour. Mr K seems easy to talk with.
The first minute I see the teacher, talking in front of the class ~ I know instantly what kind of teacher he/she is. I tell you: Most of them are the 'swindlers' type. What you see outside is not what's inside.
I *do* judge books by its cover.
If I see "evil faces", I'll assume he's bad.
If I see "good faces", I'll assume he's okay.

I believe in "first impression".

But, well, of course I don't "assume" they are like that the rest of my life. People change. The goodie ppl might turn out bad after all. The baddie ppl... ah, you know-lah. I've seen a lot. That What-I-Think-About-Them will change.

So, my impression on ppl around me changes accordingly.

Oh yeah. Mr K asked us: "Why do you want [to do] F6?"

My answer for that is the same with the reason(s) why I need f6 (science stream).

I didn't do well for my SPM.
[Yet I know I can. Because of some stupid "little problems"... I didn't (not can't)]
I've wasted my talents & time for these "little problems" (believe me, you don't wanna know)
I want to "reclaim" what I should get.
I have to show 'them' that they are deadly wrong about me.

# I need f6 b'cos I believe I will not do well in matriks. Being in matriks will just bring back memories in f4/f5... also: 2 many tomodachiS there.... I can't study that way.

I know f6 is hard. But I truly believe this is the best place for me to "fly to my destination".

Don't think you know what's best for me. You are not me. You don't think like I do. You don't know me.

If you don't support my decision. Fine.
But, please at least respect what I've decided.

*fin*

* - * - * - * - * - * - * - *

Why do I eagerly want to score well in STPM? Didn't I despise those "straight-As" students? Why am I *somewhat* becoming (or want to) into one? Isn't it against what I said?

[Think of Kurosagi. Why does Kurosaki became a Kurosagi (black swindler)? He hates sagishiS(swindlers) esp ShirosagiS! ]

I guess the only answer I have would be: I want to show them a failure like me can "become into one".

Pathetically, I like to "see" them realise that they are wrong about me. Proving that they are wrong is the best part.

Maybe this also have sth to do with "The Curse of Science 1 class"...

13 March ~ SPM Results

*staring blankly on my SPM result paper*

*sigh*..... What the heck?...

I got 6As (5A1, 1A2), 3Bs (3B4) and 3Cs (2C5, 1C6).... [it actually came out better than what I've thought!]

Nya!!!!

I mean... phew!!! *relieved sigh*

It's not good enough but hey..... comparing this to my past school SPM-like exams/tests results, this is better!

The results (I think) is just almost enough to 'put' me into matriculation.

BUT, I've made my decision.

...a decision that *really* suits my character, *to be against the most picked option*

I'm going to sit for STPM exam.

I'm going to FORM 6.

FORM 6.

*that will take 2 years from my life*

That's it.

*yokatta.....I've let it out!*

I don't know why I feel this really great relief (feeling)...

Like I'd finally cut my ties with everything related to SPM (schools, teachers, classmates....) & SPM...

SPM, sayonara!!!!!!!

p/s:

I feel like the veins for my
'happy blood' are finally unblocked!

Now I feel like I can speak happily, speak freely, laugh whenever I want, smile whenever I want!!!!!!!

KITAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!

NOBUTA power~ Enter!!

If you've watch "Nobuta wo Produce" then you'll know what 'Nobuta power' is =P !

It's just amazing that I found a lot 'motivational' phrases/quotes & cute ones from serial dramas I (dled from D-A) watched.

Firstly, "Aja Aja Fighting!" [아자아자 Fighting!!] , originally from korean drama 'Full House'. [I've googled the korean of aja aja & I think I've got it right..]. "Fighting!!" is a motivating phrase which Han Ji-eun often use to cheer herself up & to NOT give up easily. I think it's sth like telling yourself "I will not give up, I'll fight for it!". Later on, Young-jae said he prefered "Aja Aja"..had a small fight over this...eventually it became "Aja Aja Fighting!"..haha & it's contagious! Even Hye-won & Min-hyuk said it in the few last episodes. (I wonder if aja aja is equalivalent to "jia you, jia you")

I've added this to the title of my blog (as u can see up there)...I think a few months before I sit for SPM to encourage myself..."Ruth, don't give up! You can do it!"....but..*sigh*.. Year 2005 was really a dark year to me...so yeah, nothing big change...

Anyways, I like those phrases, other than reminding me of the serial I'd watched, it somewhat gives a bit motivation/encouragement to myself.. remembering the things the characters (in serial drama) had gone through... I learn a lot from watching serial dramas.

I like YanKumi's (Yamaguchi Kumiko) "Fight-oh! OH!" (faito oh!). She always says it before doing sth important/big. haha..so I also always did the same thing (if remember-lah..haha). Also a contagious phrase--you can see her students *screaming* "Fight-oh! OH!" or just "OH!"..

From jdorama, Trick, Ueda Jiro(u)'s "Why Don't You Do Your Best?" (naze besuto o tsukusanai noka)...that's his chant words, an answer to every problem you had (well, he said so.).. Surprisingly it works, (mostly for him of cos) like the trick of Genzo's WORDS (not sure if this is right.. it's the first trick 3's mystery case)..where Yamada said it to him (as her last words..) & Ueda suddenly transformed into an "Incredible Hulk"! In my opinion, this one is useful for telling others (& yourself) to just do your best even when you are just trying (also useful when you feel like giving up). It's not originally a motivational phrase, but just imagine Ueda's face when he was saying this...your stress will go away..(for shorter phrase--Besto)

"Donto Koi!" is another Ueda's quote [full: Donto koi chojo gensho, come over spiritual phenomenon]. It was funny seeing him *trying* to say "Dont..." in the Trick Special trailers with Yamada keeps stopping him. Not motivational, but it makes me laugh when I said it myself & did the 'donto koi' hand act.

Also from Trick, Yamada's "Nya!"... If I'm not mistaken, nya is the sound for cats.. From what I watched, Yamada is somewhat specially related to cats, [other than turtles] (sth to do with money?) Just watch Trick 3 and Trick Special, you'll hear those nya's. (btw she singing "nya, nya, nya, nya..." in Trick Special was very cute..haha)

"Nobuta Power...Enter!" [nobuta power..chuuunyuu]...Nobuko's motivational phrase taught by Akira. She will get 100x power after saying this. haha she's cute when she says it! Many of cute/motivational phrases(& actions) in Nobuta comes from Akira. eg. "Kon! Kon!", "Moch!" (offtopic: I really like YamaP's portrayal of Akira! Without him, I would have not finish watching Nobuta in a really fast pace[I finished Nobuta first b4 HYD] =PP)..."Akira SHOCK!", "Akira....DOWN"......haha

will continue talking about "Nobuta wo Produce" later.

Keywords for today's post: Alec in Japan, pathetic, doctor, Dragon Sakura, Gokusen, mum, dad...etc AHHHH, just read on!!!!!

Pathetic!!!!!
Reading the local newspaper this morning~ in front of the page of Daily Express(malay version...yes, yes... this newspaper comes in 3 languages..3 in 1...english/malay/kadazandusun). There was this 2 pics, I must say it was pathetic!!!...one was a dead turtle (found in Tanjung Aru) & the other a baby.. Turtle & its eggs are protected in Sabah, seeing the pic - I feel a lump in my throat.. What happened to the turtle, who or what cause it's death? If a human being (or more) did it on purpose (meaning:kill it purposely), I wish them the same fate with the turtle (I know it's a wicked thought, but... I'm really disgusted by this) ..... & the baby, it was a good thing he/she is now in a stable condition... The baby (with mosquito bites all over) was found in a box by someone in Bongawan!!! I reckoned it was on purpose he/she was 'dumped' by the family (his/her parent) because he/she was put in a box.. Terrible parents, should also die like the turtle!! Pity the baby!!

Pathetic!!!!

-----------------------------

Watched TV3's "Malaysia Hari Ini" (MHI) this morning.. I really have to say the interview with Dr. S. Mahendra Raj (oh! I remember his name! weird..), a gastroenterologist, was interesting!.. (They were discussing about stomach-related sicknesses)... I love the way the doctor explain things (no! I didn't fall in love with him!).. it makes me more wanting to become a doctor in the future! (Imagine.... Doctor Ruth....haha)

Speaking of doctors, I really wish my mum graduate next year, it has been years that she's having Ph.D with Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) [LOL... I'm sorry if I'm using the terms wrongly, I'm not familiar with university's terms]. It's hard for her, switching between work & doing her research (or thesis?) paper. & now she's done, she still need to wait for her professor to check it (with the help of other pro's)

I know she has been through a lot of stress these years...

Although it's hard for me to regard family as FAMILY, they are at least CLOSE FRIENDS to me. My mum's pursue for higher education (or what?) inspired me...

I really admire her for that..her determinations, her achievements...

& my dad? I admire his patience & tolerance (oh, well, although sometimes.... okay maybe always, I have arguments with him)

------------------------
Alec is in Japan (currently) for the promotion of eegekai no koi (see my [FeVeR pOsTs] on "Love of the Aegean Sea") [2021-03-07 edit: Dead link removed]

-------------------------
Currently, watching (& DL-ing) Dragon Sakura (some ppl says Dragon Zakura) & Gokusen (LOL....after watching Trick, I really have to watch more Abe Hiroshi & Nakama Yukie!!)

...So far, what I can say about these 2 serials... they are as GOOD as GTO (they share the same school theme) ...no copycats (although there are some similar things that happened in both or those 3 serials)

Each of them (GTO, Gokusen, & Dragon Sakura) are unique (in all aspects) on their own.

[It's kind of funny watching Ueda-san in Dragon Sakura (Abe Hiroshi) & Yamada-san in Gokusen (Nakama Yukie) because both serials reminds me a lot of "Trick". Detective yabe is the Head Teacher in Gokusen - there was a scene where there was a welcoming party for the new teachers in school; he addressed Yamaguchi-sensei(Nakama's character) as Yamada-sensei!!!..]

Today, went to school....
Initially afraid of what will happen when I walk into the classroom...

LOL... nothing big happened...

But I think the teachers today are exceptionally nice...
Moral teacher ~trying to give me help in how-to-answer problems
Biology teacher ~she asked about my absence...

The concern (although not that much) they gave feels so sweet.....

Wouldn't it be good if it is always like that.......

~陸恩祈

Just finished watched 'Tru Calling' an hour ago.... Today's story is a sad one... A father with a daughter who need a heart transplant was shot dead by the grocerer and wants Tru to help him... Then Tru's day started severally because the wrong person died... It turns out that the father did suppose to die, without his heart being damaged... so that it can be given to his sick daughter...

*sigh*

My BIO teacher said if a person's heart stop beating then only we can say that he is dead. En Qi died... but his heart was given Yao Xiang & Yao Xiang managed to see the sunlight the next day as what En Qi had told Xiao Tong... His heart continues beating in Yao Xiang's body... Doesn't that mean En Qi really is still 'alive'? No wonder Xiao Tong can't forget him... & it was a good thing that Yi Qian didn't damage En Qi's heart...

Okay, better stop...I'm starting to get emotional...

Something interesting happened today ~~

Posted in: ~Monday Posts | 2005 posts | Cringy Teenage Years | Death | I Just Woke Up | Life: Anecdotes | Old Blog | School: SPM Years

-----
Originally posted on Monday, February 07, 2005 in my old blog

I woke up early today...not like usual where my parents need to tickle my toes to wake me...

Early in the morning, my mum asked if I've heard the news. What news? I mean, I just woke up & there she was asking something I don't know. I gave her a blurred look. She told me that the telephone rang continuously last night (Between 12-2 AM, I think..)--it rang continuosly because she was afraid to get it. Phone calls during these hour are usually bad news or emergencies. Eventually, she woke my dad up--It was my cousin who called. They were asked to move out from their flat as a result to 'tsunami warning'~~

I was suprised at first because I didn't feel a thing last night...no shaking or whatsoever.

The truth is: Nothing serious happened. Yet it caused panics to people especially those who live near the beach. It was partly due to spreading news through phone calls and SMS. [Just follow these links for more information.]

Quake in RP sea panics Sabah--The Manila Times

THE country's tsunami warning system was put to test in Sabah last night when an earthquake occurred in southern Philippines--New Sunday Times, Malaysia

Tremors rouse Sabah villagers from their sleep--The Star Online

Many of them seek for safer places->>Some people in Labuan Island went to the airport to catch the earliest flight to get out of the island. After the tsunami disaster last 26 December, the people in Sabah became more 'sensitive' to any warnings related to tsunami. If I'm not mistaken, last month there was a false alarm in Semporna(?) too which caused the people there move to higher ground.

A friend of mine who is studying in MRSM called me in the afternoon and told me she cried when she heard the news. She was worried about her family.

I am glad nothing bad happened because I don't want to die young. I still have many things to do.
