Not Now

The weather is- was hot and humid since last night. Usually that's a sign that there's going to be rain. And sure enough, this afternoon, it got thundery and windy. It rained lightly later.

Received these [preloved] books today.

"Never Let Me Go" - This is the other Ishiguro's book I wanted to read. Fortunately, I found one (although it's for study use...?). Saw that it mentioned "offers the complete text of Never Let Me Go" so I just assumed that I'm not getting an edited or abridged version. The study guide looks fun though so I don't mind it.

"The Lord of the Rings" - Hear me out. This one is so random, I know! I only have casual interest in this and not because I saw the movies (or a fan of the cast).

I had a classmate named Caroline in secondary school. I think this was during the hype of the movie (it was year 2002). She once told me how her brother read this (I don't know which one) very carefully - apparently he didn't open the pages wide as possible when he read the book, probably to avoid breaking the spine - and that piqued my curiosity. Not much, just a little bit curious.

I'm very aware that I might not like this which was why I'm okay with getting a preloved copy. I do have "The Hobbit" in the family bookshelf.. so I could do the idea I had before in the future.

Not now though.. since I'm preoccupied with the Inkheart Trilogy.

"Shall We Tell the President?" - This is the second sequel to "Kane and Abel" which I finished reading last month. I read that it's possible to read this without reading "The Prodigal Daughter" so I'm going to do that when I'm in the mood XD

"The Garden of Evening Mists" - This was in my to-read shelf since 2017!

The spine looks well-used but I assure you, the book is in good condition. It was kept well, that's for sure.

Wait, isn't this historical fiction too? Lol I just talked about the genre yesterday~
